Whenever I take a walk down Canal I ALWAYS stop here for some of these awesome cakes. You can’t beat $ 1.25 for 15 pieces. It’s always a quick stop too, they always have some ready to go and still warm!

$ 1.25 for 15 pieces. It’s a simple, quick snack if you’re in the area.

With places like Eggloo and Wowfulls charging 8 dollars for an unbroken piece of Egg Cake with some toppings, their 25 cent spike from $ 1 to $ 1.25 is nothing to complain about. These people deserve more customers especially when standing all day long on their feet in the variable temperatures of the polluted outdoors. Buy 2 bags, and you get the whole 30 pieces that come in an egg cake. Don’t buy 2 bags, and you’ll still be happy with the crisp cake battered shell, and perfectly sweetened and soft cake on the inside. These egg cakes are never burnt, and have a nice amount of hollow on the inside to provide its airiness. Make sure to take a peep in the cart to see if there are prestuffed bags however, because sometimes they’ll try to make it before the after work rush!

Love ‘em. They’ve gone up in a price a little but I think they’re still worth it. Delicious. Make sure to get them fresh though. Best when still warm.

Delicious, simple, and cheap. Perfect street food. My New Yorker friend says she has traveled to chinatown before just for these little bad boys!

LOVELOVELOVE! I grew up eating these cakes. They are tiny bites of deliciousness! They moved to Flushing– Main street right next to the skewer vendor. So if you’re in the area make sure you go and pick some up. 15 for $ 1.50? Can’t beat that.

This specific cart(on the corner of Canal and Mott) is run by the nicest lady ever and I grew up eating the eggies(eggettes, egg waffles) she makes. We were just talking while waiting for the eggies to cook and I found out she’s been making them for over 20 years! Recently though she moved her cart to Flushing and now it’s harder for me to get these treats but if I’m ever in Flushing I will make sure to look out for her stand. Watch out Flushing peoples, you’ve got a real treat coming your way.

$ 1.00 Egg Cakes can’t beat it. Best egg cake stand in Chinatown. Best when fresh, so wait until someone else buys the ones that are just sitting there.
