I came here for Father’s day dinner at my mother’s recommendation and the food is just your average Chinatown food. It has all the basics so that should at least satisfy you. We ordered lobster, sweet n’ sour pork, lamb chops, a bowl of tofu w/mixed seafood, steamed shrimp, and another dish that i forgot the name of. The food was still good. We were going to order my fav shrimp w/walnuts dish, but the waitress told us not to cuz the fried shrimp were not fresh and we should eat the steamed ones instead. I wasn’t sure if she was helping us or leading us on another track o.0 and I was also trying to keep out that voice of doubt in my head concerning the freshness of the rest of their food. But my dad was okay so that was what mattered, but def. not coming back.

This is a great place if you feel like chinese but are bored with the standard cantonese fare. The Hong Kong cuisine is very different and you won’t see much familiar on the menu. I found the service and atmosphere refreshing. The food varied a great deal by dish but it’s always nice to try something new.

This place has around average quality food, somewhat strange service, and a convenient location. The food came family-style, so our party of 6 shared a number of different dishes. The mayo-shrimp and the beef chow fun were hits. The fried rice came with dried fish and was somewhat nasty. I would never see myself craving the food from here but it certainly wasn’t bad. I say strange service because while we ordered some dishes, the waiter told us that what we picked wasn’t good, and to order some other dish X. This made me worried… why would they keep bad dishes on the menu? Other than that, it was OK.

I’ll give this a 3.5 *‘s. Let me preface this by saying this restaurant is owned by my friend’s uncle who I met up with to have dinner last night. It was her suggestion we have dinner here and so we did. It hasn’t been open for too long and so it’s still clean unlike most other Chinese restaurants in Chinatown. The service was totally spot on which may have to do with my friend being the owner’s niece because we all don’t come to Chinatown restaurant’s especially in Chinatown for the SERVICE. We ordered the following items: Fried Tofu with Conch and scallion Baked salted Squid, Scallop and Shrimp Bok Choy with soy sauce The best dish was the Fried Tofu & Conch but I have had better at Ping’s Seafood. The worse was the Baked(Fried with batter really!) seafood platter because there was absolutely NO taste to it AND it was fried with too much batter! It was a pleasant experience, the service was nice and friendly and we didn’t feel rushed but… I don’t think I’ll be coming back because like I said, I’ve had better tasting food!

This past weekend was my friend’s birthday and we ended up eating here because the restaurant that we usually go to in Chinatown has closed. We chose this place because there was no line out the door. When we first walked in we noticed we were the only white people there and I had a feeling we made a good choice. We were seated promptly and had our orders taken. We ordered fried spare ribs, shumai and steamed dumplings as appetizers. The main courses we ordered were shreded pork in garlic sauce, beef lo-mein, young-chow fried rice(best fried rice i have ever had), General Cho’s chicken and the birthday boy got lobster in black beans sauce. I have to say this was best chinese food i have had in a long time. Everything tasted fresh and had great flavour. Only problem was that they served us our shumai appetizer after we were given oranges and fortune cookies, truthfully i didnt mind since the shumai was a better desert than a fortune cookie.

I went with a large group, and would suggest you do this also. It’s a «family-style» place, complete with a spinning platform in the middle of the table! Pretty much everyone in the place was Chinese, so it felt pretty authentic. The items on the menu had your standard fare, but there were some things that left me to wonder… Who really needs to eat Duck Tounge? How many do you need to keep on hand, just in case someone orders it?
