This is in response to the doctor’s response to my review. I was absolutely a patient of yours in 2008 – 9. I have not moved or changed my name so if your records are kept properly I should be in there. I brought many lab tests that showed my B12 levels and Thyroid function were low and you never ordered any other tests to review or see if the levels were different. I wrote you a letter, snail mail, after I left my treatment with you stating how poorly I was helped by you and you never responded. However you have responded seven years later to my Unilocal review.Interesting.

I wish there were more stars to give this man! I have been a patient for many years and sent many family members, friends and clients to him. There is no doctor like him in New York. He can work with body issues, like bad backs or twisted knees, he can work with you homeopathically, and he can write a prescription if he feels it is in order. There are many issues he has helped me with, but I’ll describe the most dramatic. A few years ago, suddenly, without warning, I was struck with a terrible one-​sided headache. I saw five specialists over many months, finally ending up with a top headache specialist in NYC. He diagnosed Hemicrania Continua (also called «the suicide headache» as people kill themselves over the relentless pain) and prescribed Indomethicin — the only medicine that will «cure» Hemicrania Continua. And, the medicine instantly took the headache away — within a few hours, actually. I was so happy and relieved. However, Indomethicin is horrible for the stomach and I almost immediately had really bad and dangerous side-​effects. The headache man (lovely guy, truly) told me, with amazing empathy, that there was no other medicine that would help. I was stuck with the suicide headache. I went to Dr. Masiello. He worked on my head and neck for a few weeks, and prescribed a rather obscure homeopathic remedy. Headache gone. Never came back, except for rare «flashes» and I take the remedy and I’m well. I cannot say how grateful I am. My life had been absolute hell during the months that I had that awful pain. What would have happened to me, if it had been a permanent condition. I actually cannot imagine it.
Dr. Masiello is very patient, kind and thorough. He really cares about his patients. I cannot recommend him highly enough. My husband, with back problems, thinks he works miracles. We feel so fortunate to have found our way to Dr. Masiello.

i’ve essnetially been sick with debilitating ear, nose a throat pain for the past three years. i have bad days when i can function for school/​work, and then horrible days when i can’t do anything. i’m also a type 1 diabetic, and this cycle of illness (bad to worse) was making my sugars go haywire and wasn’t leaving me with any strength to exercise, which is a bad situation for anyone, but a diabetic (im’m also hypothyroid– yuck) especially.
dr. masiello spent well over 2.5 hours with me, taking my full personal history. sometimes the session felt more like therapy than a visit with a doctor, but i had the distinct impression he was interating everything into an understanding of what’s going on with my body and why i’ve had these troubles. i didn’t feel remotely judged as i went into all my illness and family stuff, and some of it is pretty heavy. afterwards, dr. masiello did a very thorough examination, adjusted some things in a way a chiropractor might, and then prescribed a homeopathic remedy.
when things degenerated further the next day (not due to anything pertaining to why i’d seen dr. masiello, but an unrelated and undetected by my gynecologist urinary tract infection) and i had to go to the hospital, dr. masiello was available by phone to answer my questions and he made an appt for me to see him immediately the following week. he has been so helpful to me. i’m finally starting to feel better and i’m extremely grateful i found him.

After 10 years of clogged up sinuses, without any productive advice from my ENT’s, I decided to see an osteopath to see if something else could be done, if only for a little relief.
I was, at the very least, quite skeptical. I mean, what could an osteopath do with a few simple manipulations to make me feel better? I didn’t think it would really help, however, if it did, the 350 $ consultation/​treatment would be worth all the money in the world.
I saw Dr. Masiello on Friday. He took a very complete assessment of my medical and personal history, asked a lot of questions, and spent over an hour talking to me about my symptoms, and most importantly, LISTENING. He listened with interest to every symptom I described, took my concerns seriously, then told me to lie down on the table, where he performed his magic.
Aside from being a DO (doctor of osteopathy), Dr. Dom is also a certified in homeopathy. So first, he asked me to hold small tubes of homeopathic remedies to see which the energy fields in my body responded to best. I thought this was quite bizarre, and almost discounted the whole thing, thinking it had to all be BS.
Then, for a few minutes, he manipulated my sinus area with his hands. Since he wasn’t describing what he was doing, I just figured he was searching for a problem.
After he was done, he gave me a homepathic remedy to take for 5 days, and said that if my infection wasn’t gone by then, he would treat it for free.
I left thinking YA RIGHT. There’s no way my infection will be gone in 5 days.
Then, the following day, something wonderful happened: my sinuses opened up, and started draining, for the first time in years. I can actually BREATHE, albeit not perfectly, but damn. His treatment worked!
Of course, a problem that takes years to develop will certainly take years to come back to a state of health and balance. However, Dr. Masiello has given me hope.
In the final analysis, I am no longer skeptical, and if you too have chronic sinus problems, I highly recommend giving Dr. Masiello a try.
