The food here tastes soooo fresh and is quite good. On top of that they list the calories on the website and it’s not that expensive. The bad part is it’s ALWAYS packed.

Why do we continually subject ourselves to this torture? The food is consistently bland and tasteless, overpriced and meat is dry and overcooked. The lines are extremely long and out the door during lunch rush. They move fast but at a cost. You get yelled at by the servers«what do you want???» And if you can’t answer fast enough(immediately), they move on to the next person. The menu is unclear as to how many sides the veggie plate has so I asked(3). The woman responded to me so rudely it was as if I had offended her. You have no chance to look at the sides and you are expected to list them off the top of your head before viewing them. Don’t know what quince is? Good luck trying to find out from the employees. The chicken is bland(what lemon?) and dry. «Spicy» meatballs are only marginally improved by the hot sauce which you must ask for. The salmon is beyond overcooked, if you like it crumbly, this is the place to go. The vegetables are equally bland, perfect for people watching their sodium intake. Do yourself a favor, go somewhere else. Anywhere else.

Desperate for something quick and heathy, we almost walked in to Potbelly’s only to see the hustle and bustle next door at Dig Inn. The Kale Caesar Salad and Grilled Flank Steak were the stars of the night! Perfect guilt free lunch!

I love Dig Inn with most of my heart, although I have only recently learned of its existence– they have served as a permanent replacement(for me) for Chipotle. Now, what I mean by replacement, is not because they serve the same type of cuisine, but rather they serve the same«pick your meats and sides» kind of style of service AND the food is consistent and flavorful. The portions served are«just right» but on the smaller side(though I typically find that a small is too small, so I do tend to add the extra 2 bucks for the large). I find that the food is especially flavorful, it is SOGOOD. I have only ordered here for takeout, so I have no comment in regards to the establishment itself. Their delivery has always been consistently timely(timely as in they come within the stated time, not that it’s ASAP). My recommendations? Well, I personally tend towards my usual suspects, so I typically get the beef or the salmon– not sure if it’s because of the sides I add, but there is a «vinegar» taste to the food. And for the sides, GETTHECARROTS(it’s awesome).

The first Dig Inn I’ve been to and probably the best. I used to work a block away and would come here all the time. Lunch time rush happens from 12 – 1:30, so come before or after to beat/avoid the crowd. But even if there’s long winding line inside, the employees know what they’re doing and are super efficient. I typically get the veggie platter because I feel like 1) they don’t give enough protein when you order it and 2) the veggies taste freaking amazing. I usually get it on top of farro because brown rice just lacks sometimes. I’ve gotten a juice before but it takes a while because eveyone in the back is busy(packing delivery orders). Aside from that, the juice was good! There is limited seating here, but since most people take it to-go, you can usually snag a table.

VEGANMYASS! Ordered the«Vegan Satay» sandwich and found a piece of grilled chicken in there. The staff isn’t sensitive to what«vegan» is. They cook and prepare food on the same grills and counters that they prepare meat, dairy, eggs, butter, etc.

Dig Inn is one of my go-to’s for lunch around the office. It took awhile to come around but I think at some point I turned the corner for this farm to table restaurant… I think it might have been when upstate mac became a side. Platters(4⁄5): My typical go-to is the small platter with rice and either meatballs or chicken. Both meats are delicious and overall portions are okay. Best sides are the brussel sprouts and upstate mac. Do want to call out that some of the sides can be a bit oilier than you would expect. — $ 10 Experience(4⁄5): Very friendly staff. One comment is to not fret when lines can get super long between noon and 1:30(snaking to the entrance of the restaurant). These lines move very quickly. — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — How food scoring works(very subjective, and relative to price) 1 — Given the price, no 3 — Worth, taste is on par with price 5 — An absolute steal, amazing taste and great value

A pleasant surprise in the sea of overpriced, mediocre lunch buffets known as midtown. Someone in this place actually knows how to use some spices.

I tried Dig Inn last week for lunch. I needed another option other than Chipotle or Au Bön Pain. I went at 1:30PM, at the end of lunch rush. Even so, there was a fairly long line. Don’t be intimidated with the long lines, just like Chipotle, it moves quickly. Very basic, you choose a base, protein, 2 sides and toppings/sauce if you want. I got a small, thinking it would be enough for my hunger. But it filled me, though I could have eaten more. Maybe next time I’ll get a large. If you’re watching what you eat and how much you eat, this might be a good option. The food taste great and flavorful. I got the charred chicken, brussels sprout and sweet potatoes. The brussels sprouts had orange peel, which kind of made it bitter. It was an interesting surprised. I had mixed feelings if I liked it. My only complaint is that they don’t actually fill the plates as full as I’ve seen them here on Unilocal.Wished they filled it up more. Especially if it was like $ 11. Overall, it was good. I will come back.

My coworkers all highly recommended dig inn and I finally was able to stop by recently. In one sentence it’s chipotle meets chopped, good healthy food. Although the selection is not vast they offer a little something for everyone, from vegan to fish to meats. The portions are smaller, because their whole concept is to not overstuff us like most places, but I have a healthy appetite and I was still hungry after I finished my plate. If you can pack away a burrito bowl without coming up for a breathe, I would recommend you get a large plate and also extra protein. The line is always crazy long but it moves pretty quickly just as it is at chipotle. With most dishes being less than 10 dollars it should definitely be added to your lunch rotation. Downsides for me would be the size of portions and they don’t offer reusable takeout ware as it seems like a place that would do well with incorporating it in their business model.

Came here for a Level Up deal for $ 5 off. I got a small veggie plate, a $ 6 value, for just $ 1 after the first-timer discount! EXTREMELYVERYSUPERSOMUCH popular option for lunch. If you come after 11:45, there’s a 99.9% chance you’ll have at least 15 – 20 people in front of you. Good thing is, the line moves decently quickly and if you’re here with coworkers, or checking your Instagram, time passes by. Bad thing is, it’s so crowded that you have to navigate through the sea of people to find your way out to the street. The workers are very efficient so much so that it reminds me of Chipotle. You get to choose a large or small plate. I recommend choosing the small plate, because it’s essentially the same plate but just with spoonfuls of different portions. In the end, it’s really not worth the cost difference because I was full off of a small veggie plate(I normally eat 2 sushi boats at AYCE). Ingredients are fresh and it tastes healthy enough to me. Definitely recommend downloading Level Up if you’re a repeat customer — might as well take advantage of the deals. Just don’t come during prime time.

I miss dig inn soooo so much! I used to come to this location every weekday for a very fresh, healthy vegan lunch when my office was close by. You can mix and match your selections so you don’t get bored of eating the same meal everyday, as is my case. They also have a beef or fish protein if you desire and freshly pressed juice on the opposite side of the counter. Portion size and control here should be the standard. As Americans, we are spoiled and therefore, expect heavy handed, gluttonous portions which needs to change! Lines here are always long during lunch but move relatively quickly at a steady pace. The employees were always friendly and knew my order by heart with some variations here and there. I wish they would expand into Queens and Brooklyn because they are killin’ it!

Friendly service and very tasty food… though the line can be long for lunch, it moves pretty quickly. I would love if they had a little more variety in their offerings from week to week. This place is a great way to eat more veggies and enjoy food prepared in a healthier manner.

I frequently order dig inn for dinner over seamless. They offer quality food which seems to be much healthier than your average delivery option. Personally, I’m a huge fan of the five spice meatballs plate and enjoy the sides which are seasonal and change throughout the year. The salmon and braised beef is also good but would steer clear of the chicken(it’s very bland). Although, it’s no juice press, their smoothies/shakes are good compliments to their main plates. I usually go with the peanut butter shake if I just worked out but also enjoy the strawberry beet smoothie. As delicious as the Dig Inn plates are, I do wish their rices/sides had a little more flavor. Seems like it could use a little more salt(but then I guess it wouldn’t be all that healthy anymore). I also order extra quac and hot sauce to go on the sides.

After dining at Dig Inn, I felt like I’ve dined a selection of healthy stuff. Flavor was great, just not as tasty as roast kitchen(it is actually less salty, which is good for health reason); so I will give it 4⁄5 since I gave roast kitchen a 5. Protein choices are among chicken, meatball, salmon salad or steak. I was pretty satisfied with my steak choice, accompanied by baby spinach. As for sides, I went with brussels sprouts and cauliflower. Really liked the combo of sprouts and dried orange, creating a bit sweetness out of savory. Line seemed to be ridiculous at first, however it moved fast.

My coworker have been recommending this place for lunch because it’s considerably healthy. I have finally got the chance to try it out with my friends and it is pretty good. There are two sizes: small and large. I ordered a small and it was a good portion. I was full, but not stuffed. It’s a convenient, quick, and healthy lunch. Something you can’t really get around this area and there are so many options! I had the lemon chicken with brown rice with Brussels sprouts and sweet potatoes. The lemon chicken was really good and the sides were really fresh. Definitely coming back here for lunch! There are only three steps to order: 1. choose a protein 2. choose a carb 3. choose two sides There are seats inside and outside. My friends and I went around lunch time and we still managed to find seats. If you can’t find seats within the store, don’t worry, there are a lot of public area around where you can definitely sit down and eat.

I’ve been to Dig Inn in the UWS, but never realized they had one so close to me in Midtown. I love Dig Inn, mostly because the food is fresh and it’s very easy to order — plus you have OPTIONS! Plus, a small platter, which is usually a lot of food is only $ 8, so it’s pretty cheap for what you’re getting. If you download their app, you get $ 5, so technically you’re only paying $ 3 for lunch. Their brown rice is good and their lemon chicken(although a bit tasteless) is a staple. I also liked their peach panzanella — although the bread was a bit burnt, the peaches and mint tasted very fresh, which was great. Also had their summer squash — no complaints there. Overall, good place to have lunch because of the convenient location in addition to the farm fresh local food. The seating area is also very very cute, with fresh flowers and wooden tables. Absolutely love Dig Inn!

My go-to Seamless order when I could build a fort out of all the paper in my office and I’m hankering for something other than the usual greasy burrito /limp sushi /sad chopped salad. I don’t think I’ll ever crave Dig Inn’s brand of farm-to-desk greens for corporates but I do feel a lot better after eating it than I would, say, a giant bowl of ramen(isn’t it very sad that at least for me, how high something falls on the Glycemic Index is directly related to how badly I crave it). I’ve tried(and liked) the baby spinach with mango, organic tofu salad(which comes drenched in some kind of sesame sauce), broccoli with almonds, wild salmon salad, and the pear pomegranate smoothie. That said, the delivery times are awful and inaccurate. The confirmation says 30 – 45 minutes but it’s more like an hour. I’m grateful for deliverymen and how they need to deal with cabs and pedestrians on a daily basis … well, I’m also very hungry. I almost forgot — they have these sea salt and chocolate cookies. I always feel a tad guilty throwing them in when I am just below the delivery maximum. The last time I ordered, I ripped open the bag and ate one in the elevator. Yeesh.

Good lunch spot for when I want to feel better about myself after having a Chipotle burrito(Right next door too). Lightweight options without the baby portions. There’s really no difference between the small and large. The plates are exactly the same size they say the portions are different but they pack food into a small. I love the butternut squash couscous, SO delicious. The lemon chicken is pretty good too. The roasted sweet potatoes are always cold when they’re supposed to be warm, and they’re not really roasted — more like boiled. There’s always a long line during weekday lunch hours but it goes pretty quickly.

The pulled pork, kale medley, and yams were delicious. And the service was fast. The cashier acted like she didn’t know what LevelUp was, even though they had level up readers. She had to ask the manager who reported that they were not using LevelUp because it was«down.» So I wasted a visit and missed out on saving $ 3. They should let people know beforehand. Also, they let trash build up. People were tripping on other people’s trash. Finally, a delivery guy took the time to get the trash situation situated. Someone should be regularly monitoring that. I’ll stick to the one on Madison.
