Dav-El Chauffered

This place has HORRIBLE pricing. My company’s travel agency booked me a car with them for a trip from Long Island City to Newark Airport. The ride was just as expected but the bill I got afterwards was totally NOT EXPECTED. I was charged over $ 250 for the one way trip.
I understand this was a private car service, but I was only in the car for 1 hour. When I called to obtain an explanation of the charge, I was told that they start charging from when the car leaves the garage to when the car is returned back to the garage. As such I was charged for 3 hours of car service.
When I looked up their garage locations, I found that they had a garage half a mile down the street from my pick-​up location (2 minutes away). Common sense would’ve led a dispatcher to send a car from this closer garage so that the total hours of service would be around 2 hours. However, after months of trying to get in touch with someone to explain the extra hour charged, I was told that a car from NJ was sent to pick me up. So essentially I ended up paying for my 1 hour in the car and 2 hours for not being in the car.
The pricing logic and logistics coordination of this place are reprehensible. After discussing this incident with my colleagues, I found that they also experienced being ridiculously overcharged by DAV EL as well. AVOID THIS PLACE!

My company uses Dav El Car service and I am SO THANKFUL. Friendly drivers, professional meet-​up contact at the airport and clean cars. We have a company wide negotiated rate, but must say that it beats taxi or bus service any day!
