Love this place! Honestly this club is one of the much better clubs in nyc. Great 80’s/90’s dance music and generally a good crowd. Unfortunately cover charge is pricey at $ 25, which used to be $ 20 a few years ago but went up, so that sucks. Never had the drinks but I heard they are good. One thing I did not like is they wanted to charge my friend for TAP water, not even bottled water but TAP water which I’m pretty sure is illegal to do! So I would complain about that because that is honestly a really bad thing. Other than that this is one of my favorite clubs!

This place could be a million times better if the people who ran it actually gave a crap. Pros — Laid Back. No ridiculous line to get in. Fun décor. Music can be great. Not crowded That’s about it Admission — $ 25, $ 20 if you’re on the guest list. The music alternated between being awesome with everyone’s favorite 80’s songs compiled, then 10 minutes of weird undanceable mixes. I don’t know where the DJ is located, but he should be able to read the room and know that some songs left everyone looking at each other, confused as to how to dance to some weird mash-up. With all the amazing 80’s songs that are definite crowd-pleasers out there, I’m really surprised at some of the tunes that were chosen. The tiny drinks at the bar, which were mostly ice, were $ 15 each. The website boasts an upstairs that plays more current music, but it was closed. Coat check($ 3 per item) is upstairs, which is a pretty dangerous staircase to navigate while sober, let along with a few drinks. They play 80’s movies on giant screens. Except they pop one in at the beginning of the night and don’t bother to restart the DVD or pop in something else. So you’re left starting at a DVD menu. It’s a good place to go for a fun night out. But drink before you go. A use a restroom before you go, because Yuck.

Went here with the girlfriend about two weeks ago. We actually asked the cab driver to take us somewhere else but we were so drunk we didnt even realize where we got out. So anyway, after a $ 25 cover we had some serious fun dancing to the 80’s tunes and making out, I don’t remember the drink prices but everyone in the place was having SOOOOOOOO much fun I don’t think it is relative. If you grew up in the 80’s or 90’s you need to check this place out. We were pleasantly surprised!

If you want to turn back the hands of time, than this is the place to be. We were here on Saturday night and what an expensive but fun night. I can’t even begin to tell you that I really thought I was back in the future! Music is 80 and 90s jams. A very mixed crowd, but truly this is what makes it more fun! A word to the wise: if you don’t have a wallet like Gordon Gekko from the movie Wall Street, pre-game somewhere else. Between the cover charge and price of drinks, it is pricey but«Oh so worth it!»

Only giving 1 star for the music. Came here for a bachelorette party this past Saturday. We had made a reservation for bottle service in the VIP section, which was a little pricey, but you supposedly get what you pay for. Not here. We had to wait a good 15 minutes in the small, crowded entryway for our bottle service girl to escort us to our section. After she escorted us, that was the last we saw of her. And her $ 150 tip was included in the price of the bill. The bus boys helped us out, which was great! Otherwise we would have run out of mixers completely. The place was smaller than some clubs or bars in the city, but whatever. The place wasn’t that packed at 11:30 on a Saturday. Strange. The music was great, upbeat music from the 80’s, some 90’s and some 2000’s. And the decore was cool. All glow in the dark, and was stuff like pacman, Mario and 80’s hair band posters. The worst part was towards the end of the night. A few girls had used the restroom, which they said was absolutely dark, disgusting and a pain to get to. I ended up holding until I got back to my hotel. No thank you. While a group of girls was dancing by the VIP section(I was on the main dancefloor) some guy started dancing with the bachelorette. Nothing bad. Then, he tried to make his move on her and she rejected him. He kept trying and the other girls ended up getting him to go away. We saw him leave the club. Not 5 minutes later the same guy was back at the bar. He then approached my group of friends and attacked them. The shoved the bachelorette and a few other girls, and grabbed one by the neck. After what seemed like an eternity, a bouncer(who was basically next to the group) finally escorted the asshole out. A few girls followed since there was a cop outside the club, to see if they could get the guy arrested. The asshole showed the cop his state trooper badge and he went on his merry way. The club did nothing for us, not even offering a free drink to the girls who got attacked! When all was said and done, we went to close our large VIP tab, and the bartender stated that only the manager could do it. And after waiting 20 minutes, in a pretty much empty club(and watching the bartender play on her phone) the manager finally arrived. She could tell that we were pissed, and instead of apologizing, she avoided eye contact and THREW the receipt, which was on a clipboard, at us and walked away. I would never go back, even if you paid me. It is unsafe, especially for women, and staggeringly overpriced for what you get. And the management sucks!!!

If this place had better management it would be really awesome. I went for a bachelorette party and everyone had a lot of fun. The music selection was spot on. The DJ killed it. There was also a really bouncer who was very helpful. The décor was cool, very fun– but it could use some sprucing up for sure. The bathrooms were dark and gross and the dark stairwell to get there is a little scary. I love the 80’s music, it was super fun for dancing. However, I was really looking forward to checking out the third floor which was supposed to be 90’s and 2000’s music. That was closed when we were there and I read another review that said it was closed as well. I wonder if it’s ever open. The biggest problem was the manager. At the end of the night when we were done partying and wanted to go home after spending a ton of money on a VIP section and bottle service, we tried to get our bill. We asked one of the bartenders to settle us up and apparently the only person who can do that is a manager. So we waited for a manager while the bartender did absolutely nothing but look at her phone. 10 minutes go by and we start getting annoyed. We ask her when the manager is coming… no idea. Another 10 minutes later she shows up. She didn’t acknowledge us or the fact that we just waited 20 minutes for her to appear because for some stupid reason she is the only one who can close out our bill. We just spent a lot of money in her club and also brought a lot of good looking fun girls to the party. You would think she would be thankful and maybe apologize for the wait and ask us if we had a fun time. No. Instead, she looks so annoyed that we are standing there that she can’t even look us in the eye. When she was finished closing out our check at the computer, she didn’t even hand us our receipt. Instead… SHETHREWITATUSANDWALKEDAWAY. Like get the hell out of my club bitches and never come back. It was the most bizarre treatment. After that, I asked one of the bouncers if there was someone else in charge so that I could complain and he said she was it. I was so appalled. If you can’t deal with people, you shouldn’t be a manager of a bar. Very unprofessional. I’ll never forget it. I can’t imagine this club thriving under her leadership. I hope the owners of the club read this review and know how their high paying customers are being treated.

Danced my butt off in this place! Pros: 1. First off, this place is dedicated to bringing back the magic of the 80’s with posters, glow-in-the-dark paintings, and TVs playing something related to the theme. 2. Music was great — they played all the throwback jams! 3. They have a light up dance floor which added to the fun! 4. The crowd varied in ages, anything from older folks to people in their twenties — everyone was either dancing or singing along. I’m putting this in the pros side because I think happiness is contagious — there were songs playing which I never heard of but just watching/hearing some people dance and sing along made me happy haha. Cons: 1. Cover charge was $ 25(although we checked in with Unilocal and got a $ 5 discount). 2. I would give this place five stars but the prices were borderline absurd — my boyfriend bought two beers and a mixed drink for $ 31. 3. Mandatory coat check — you seriously can’t go in without checking in your coats which you also had to pay for. Tips: 1. Check in with Unilocal and save yourself $ 5 on the cover charge. 2. Pregame so you don’t have to spend a ridiculous amount of money on drinks!

Really want to like this place, but with the ridiculous cover and drink prices, it’s hard to give this place higher than a 3 star rating. The décor is really nice. It’s all glow-in-the-dark characters from old arcade games, like Mario and Pac-Man. My friend said she really enjoyed this place, so we decided to head there last week. She told me we could check in to receive $ 5 off cover. Turns out, the $ 5 only reduces cover to $ 20, which is ridiculous. In addition, before we were able to walk into the club, the bouncer told us we had to get coat check. He wouldn’t let us go to the bar if we didn’t check in our coats. What the eff? When we finally got to the bar, it costs us $ 14.50 for a well drink that was half the size of a normal NYC bar. They’re only saving grace was that they were playing awesome 80s and 90s music all night. Otherwise, I would’ve walked straight out of there. Might go here again, just need to get on the guest list, which is hopefully a lot cheaper than $ 20, and pregame a ton so I don’t need to buy any drinks there.

If u love 80’s music then u will like this place. Walls lined with famous 80’s movie posters(like top gun, purple rain) or paintings of them(pretty in pink and cocktail) or games(like Simon says or pac man or donkey kong) or music(like Janet jackson’s control) … Drink menu are 80’s themed as well. Like the«Amy Fischer» or «rubix cube» or my fave«purple rain» TV screens played«weird science» all night long. Kelly laBrock was such a gorgeous gal :) I came on a Saturday night with another friend who loves 80’s music as well. I only knew about the place because I threw a friends bachelorette party once — with a strippers company named«GETPUNISHED.com» that throws their shows in the basement floor of the club. Anyway you exit thru the club — so if u see a large group of dressed up chicks — they probably came from the stripper show. Lol Place is opened from 9pm-4am and from what I know — only opened Friday and Saturday Anyway– it is free admission before 10pm. The drinks are 15 bucks a pop but they are strong for NYC drinks. Come comfortable and come with other friends who like the 80s decade. Otherwise ur company will be bored and thinks it’s cheesy. Place actually got full by midnight. Bathrooms are small and I didn’t want to touch much Coat check is on top floor I thought the website said there were 3 floors but the 80’s club is only on the main floor. Top floor is coat check and I know what the basement floor is about. Lol. Anyway I had a pretty good time. So did my friend

If you are over 25& appreciate a bit of common courtesy in a club this is not the place for you. Surprising being a 80’s club.

This review is for their new year’s eve party. I thought that this place was awesome. Their coat check was a bit expensive($ 5) and mandatory. The rumors about the bathroom are also a bit true. They are all one person unisex bathrooms, but there were four on the first floor and I never had to wait in line. One of the bathrooms though, didn’t have a light, which was a bit weird. Also I’m sure that girls did not appreciate having to use the same bathroom as guys. However, this place was awesome in other ways. First of all, shots were included in their open bar. They have a expansive selection of specialty drinks for you to try, and they were all very strong. Bottles of beer were also included in the open bar. They had a bunch of party decorations, top hats, noise makers, etc. for you to have. I got a general admission ticket, and from the looks of it, was the best choice. The VIP sections weren’t very VIP, since they were just random benches. Finally, the place wasn’t overpacked so, while there was a wait to get a drink sometimes, the wait was never too long. They were also great at giving out bottles of water, which helped to avoid too much drunkenness. The music was a bit off, but they threw in some good mixes here and there. I was looking for some Top 40 hits, but they were really stuck in the 80s and 90s. I’m a 90s baby, so I’m not sure what they were playing from the 80s.

Seriously, this place needs to just shut itself down and end its own misery and embarrassment. I was here more than 10 years ago and can’t remember a thing but it being very overpriced and not a great experience. So, we went for about 2 minutes during a bachelorette party because we wanted a fun dance place and — at 35 — I was the youngest person there by about 20 years. The upstairs was closed and a middle-aged bald man in high-waisted white khakis and a yellow polo danced alone by hugging himself on the dance floor(I kid you not) in fairly good company with other equally creepy folk. We got our crazy high cover charges refunded immediately and left before Milton bombed the place.

Fun concept and the DJ was good. But over-priced. Bartenders r rude! They lied about open bar special on Halloween … Not cool …

The dance club itself is fine. Pretty much what you’d expect from a place decorated entirely in neon and video game decals. Unfortunately, the management seems to have no shame when it comes to taking advantage of customers. On top of the(already ridiculous for a plain old dj in a neon basement) $ 25 cover charge, prepare to wake up to credit card charges that you had nothing to do with, and prepare to have to dispute those with your bank, as the Culture Club will do nothing but talk down to you over the phone. I guess when an establishment makes that much money every night from cover charges alone, they can’t be bothered to actually give a sh*t about their patrons. I have never before written a negative review here, but I hope that posting this will save someone else the headache. Go to any other club in New York(and there are many of them!) where you will hopefully be respected as a paying customer.

I celebrated my bday here Sat Sep 13, it is such a fun and cool spot! The music is super and yes they only play 80’s hits! The décor is super fun and the mix drinks are just on point. I got a Power Ranger and was hooked the whole night!

Place is a good time if you’re a fan of 80’s songs and outfits. Loved the feel of it. I suggest going with a group of friends you’d enjoy the night with since it’s pretty cliquey in there. The entrance is a bit pricey($ 25 per person regardless of gender), as are the drinks($ 15 per drink), but its an entertaining place. Loveeee the décor which consists of PAC man, Top Gun, Mario, and other classics– plenty of fun photo ops there. The drinks are potent to say the least so you definitely get your money’s worth there. They also have the funniest names for the drinks as well: «Ricky Martini», «Rubix Cube.» Take advantage of the Unilocal offer and enjoy!

Zero stars. This place is disgusting. The bathroom is tiny; I walked into the first stall and saw menstrual blood in the toilet and a dirty pad on the floor. I almost threw up. I left and decided to hold it. The dance floor was not very packed and the smoke gave me a migraine. The only wine choice was Chardonnay and Cabernet; I opted Cabernet and it was the worst wine I’ve ever tasted. I left the drink at the bar and left I cannot believe I payed 25 dollars to enter this nauseating place. My group of friends seemed to be enjoying themselves, but they were all wasted . My advice to you is if your going go come to this club, come drunk and leave blacked out

If you’ve been to their previous location, you’re going to be really unimpressed. This venue is MUCH smaller and missing the cool aspects of the other place… no bleachers and cutouts from 90210. Haha. Anyway, went there on Saturday night and there was a $ 25 cover charge, and I really don’t think it was worth it. The drinks were served in tiny plastic cups, and weren’t cheap either. The dance floor is pretty small, but the music was fun so of course it was packed. Can’t imagine I’ll be going back there any time soon.

I know the eighties were cheesy, and I embrace that cheesiness. That being said, I found myself reminiscing the original Culture Club that was downtown. This place just was more than I can handle. It felt very meat-markety, cost $ 20 to get in, and the main dancefloor was pretty small. Drinks were pricey and it’s a horrible midtown location. Of course that didn’t stop me from dancing for hours and having a lot of fun. I just don’t think there is any reason to be in this neighborhood, paying that much money to dance to 80s music. The wall décor was fun, tons of pictures of 80s icons and they were playing Ferris Bueller on the screens.

Admission is $ 25, reduced is $ 20(birthdays) — boo to that Décor — they definitely got that down Drinks — my friends ordered the«special themed cocktails» and they were weak, I got my usual, and it was well poured! Music — around midnight to 1am was Top 40s, after 1am, more 80s hits Need to know — IT’S A SWEATBOXINTHERE!

Experiencing Culture Club while you’re completely sober was much more enjoyable the second time around than when I came here on my 21st birthday. But then again, my birthday was very much like the 80’s: brightly clad guys and gals with big hair and that infamous swaying motion that we all do when we’re singing along to Madonna’s «Material Girl» at the top of our lungs. Coming here for my sister’s bachelorette party seemed very appropriate and we had an awesome time on the first floor that KTU radio was DJ-ing. With her free UV colored shirt that said«I spend my last night at Culture Club», the winking Mrs. Pac Man, seemed to be the center of attention here. The UV painted images of inconic Mario and Luigi, Storm Troopers, Rubic’s Cubes, and Donkey Kong made you want to either rave or search for a plugged in Super NES. The lighted dance floor will also keep you entertained, and the specialty drinks will have you then sipping and sliding! The«second» floor, is really the THIRD floor as you climb up the stairs to get an even further 80’s music high. However, good luck getting up here if you’re totally wasted; no elevator here you lazy party people! The second floor served as your other bathroom option and the coat check. Sadly, the second floor had a much older crowd, the music was too slow, and the lights were set a little too bright. Back down the stairs we went. If you want to sing your heart out with strangers and not have the obligation to dance with anyone, this is your spot. GONINJA, GONINJAGO! GO! GO! Sorry, couldn’t help but channel Vanilla Ice.
