First off, we waited patiently for 30 minutes to get seated when they told us it would take 10 minutes. Second, the started seating parties that would come in after us. Thirdly, when we were finally seated, it took over 50+ minutes for us to get our food… all we ordered was eggs. The coffee tasted like it was bottom of the barrel so do yourself a favor and just get a water. The service was so slow. What a huge waste of time.

Tasty, friendly staff, great choice, but really didn’t understand the price per 1 crepes — 15 $ ?!

Bad service. Waited 15 min for menus, even after asking them for it multiple times. Ended up grabbing them oursevles. Waited again for a while when we asked for the bill.

I honestly did not enjoy the food here. Maybe I ordered the wrong things. I probably should have ordered a crêpe, because the items I did eat were utterly sad. Oeuf Columbus($ 10.25) — poached eggs on a goat cheese potato cake with ratatouille: I liked the sound of these ingredients. The result was disappointing. The eggs were terribly dry and the texture was rubbery. The so-called ratatouille was just some soggy vegetables with a mushy texture. The sauce, or what I thought was supposed to be sauce, was watered down vegetable juice. The goat cheese potato cake was okay, but the flavor combined with the mushy vegetables just enhanced an unsatisfying sour flavor. French Toast with bacon &2 eggs($ 12.75): The french toast somehow came out soggy. I don’t know how they managed that. It was just odd. Thank goodness for the bacon and eggs. Perhaps they were having an off day. Poached eggs and french toast are not the easiest dishes to cook, but definitely not difficult to master, especially since they are a breakfast place.

Had a good first impression when I ordered delivery. On a Saturday afternoon, it took about 20 minutes and the food was delicious! I had the French toast with bacon(about $ 13). The French toast had a great crust, was moist and flavorful inside — perfect. Even the bacon was how I love it. Charred and crispy, but definitely not burnt. An easy meal that most diners screw up, but I was pretty happy. I guess the crepes aren’t winners so in glad I started with the French toast here, and I’ll stay in that safe zone.

Poor service. Waited 15 min for menus, another 10 for waters and silverware. They advertised real maple syrup but pancakes came with fake sugar syrup.

The food here is fine. Nothing special but not terrible either. Usually hits the spot for brunch. Why I gave this restaurant 1 star is almost entirely because of the very, very sub-par service. I’ve been here 3 times and have had consistently similar experiences, but today was by far the worst. Here is what happened: We ordered our food and we’re not given water until we asked, about 45 minutes into our meal — fine, not that big of a deal. However, after 90 minutes of waiting for our food, we asked for a bread basket to hold us over. Basically don’t expect anything from the staff unless you ask for it. Then, after we had waited TWOHOURS for our food, one of meals they gave us was incorrect, so we asked to send it back. The waitress responded as if the error had been our fault and with contempt. Upon it being returned, we asked for a box for it to go, considering this meal had been a 2.5 hour venture, and the waitress again responded very nastily. Needless to say, I will not be returning. There are plenty of other eateries in the area that I’d rather give my money to that are at least more polite about their mistakes. Also the entire place was filled with smoke the entire time. My friend’s eyes was watering. No tip was left.

Had an excellent omelet today that was served with a handful of baby salad with lots of rotten bits in it(and no dressing of any sort) and potatoes that seemed not quite fresh. I told the server that I had liked the omelet but the salad wasn’t good and she didn’t even glance at it before throwing my napkin on top and taking it away. I remember thinking how fresh everything tasted when I last visited a year ago. Hope this time was a fluke.

Service is consistently terrible. Every time I go it takes the servers 15min to take my order even though the restaurant itself is not that busy. Once they take my order I have to wait another 45 min to get my food, which wouldn’t be so bad of they came by and asked how we were doing and filled my water glass every now and again. Despite this however, the food is absolutely delicious. The only reason I continue to go back is because of the oeuf columbus is superb.

I had the Nutella, strawberry & banana crêpe with a side of ice cream the other day. The crêpe was good but not so much the ice cream. I wish the ice cream was plain vanilla and it also tastes like the cheap ice cream brands(high in sugar, less in flavor/taste). Haagen Dasz vanilla would have been perfect. I should have gotten the whipped cream instead. The ice cream ruined the taste for me but again the crêpe was really good. You’re going to need a side(sorbet, whipped cream or ice cream) since the Nutella can be really thick.

If you are looking for amazing crepes go here. It’s always a pleasant experience and I have never had a bad meal here. Would definitely recommend it if you are looking for something satisfying and different from your normal routine. Regardless if you like sweet or savory crepes, this place has something for you. PLUS their red mango smoothie is AMAZING.

Summary This is a decent café if you’ve got a bit of time. My go-to order is their Nutella, and banana crêpe to calm my sweet cravings! Atmosphere Crepes on Columbus is relaxed café/restaurant. Although I’ve been here a few times and it has never been packed. Food You have to get crepes if you come here. They are served fresh, and hot, right to the table, a bit crispy, and filled generously with ingredients of your choosing. I’ve also ordered an egg and cheese on a croissant and it was mediocre at best. The eggs were cooked in way too much oil and were greasy beyond belief and the cheese was melted poorly. I could barely eat my food because it was so oily. Service The hostess is quick to seat customers and take their order but the kitchen is extremely slow. It takes more than 20 minutes each time for my food to reach the table, even when the restaurant is empty.

I’m writing this review while waiting for my second round of crepes for today. Stopping at one is almost impossible. So far, I’ve tasted 4 combinations here and they’ve all been delicious — this is now my go-to crepes place. It is quiet and cosy, and the tables by the window are particularly lovely. Coffee not too strong, which I find nice. I’ve tried their soup last time, too — but that was unimpressive. The sign says«Crepes on Columbus», and that’s exactly what you should order.

giving them 2.5 stars mean…I love a crêpe just as much as the next person. actually, I’d been craving one for several days and decided to make this my thin pancake destination since its like… rolling out of bed distance. I place an order for a strawberry, banana, Nutella crêpe and it took 30 minutes. how un-American on this day! time issues aside, it’s a decent sized crêpe, but certainly the most flavorless batter I’ve ever encountered. tasted like flour, seems like they might want to try adding a little vanilla extract and a teaspoon or two of sugar. maybe a pinch of cinnamon and a tad of nutmeg… but what do I know? oh yeah… FOOD. this was too simple an order to have taken so long AND be so underwhelming. I would recommend that they take the time to cook the bananas until they’re just turning a golden brown around the edges with a little butter, and perhaps they should give me the fresh strawberries they mentioned on the menu and not the frozen ones they think are even a close comparison. I can’t be fooled. not impressed but not disgusted. just should’ve done it myself.

The place lives up to it’s Unilocal reputation. Had a chocolate lover’s crêpe which gives you three choice of fillings for only $ 9(including tax). They even substituted bacon with turkey when asked for. Really good experience. Definitely a must-have if you’re near the Morningside Heights area.

This is a wonderful brunch place and I truly do not understand why this place would only have three and a half stars. It wasn’t too crowded so that service was slow, but it was definitely well attended. The waiter was great and always refilled my coffee. I got the Oeuf Columbus which was two poached eggs and a potato latke with goat cheese smeared underneath. It was absolutely delicious and the most unique brunch option I’ve ever had.

Most posh crêpe place I have been to. The portions are large enough to command the prices and savory options come with a nice small salad on the side. Recommend the salmon – but I very much liked the apples and raisins. I have a sweet tooth. The only problem is that with all the butter, it can get burnt when reheated(leftovers, of course) in a toaster oven. So if you want to get the apples and raisins crêpe – you have to eat it there. But if you are bound to have leftovers, go for a savory option. Also the tea mugs give you a luxurious amt of hot water for ~$ 2. Finally, the service was great and I liked the way the place was laid out + it was nice and warm inside this crêpe shop. If I am up there for a Cathedral visit or similar, I would go back!

Walked right in with no wait, BUT the place was packed. We were just lucky. Ambiance was lively, not too loud, but not overly quiet and boring. Sat by the window on a gloomy and rainy day… Setting was perfect. Server was Stephen and he was great. Water and coffee cups stayed full, he checked up on us very often but there was no need. Everything was cool. Steak and eggs for me, Ham/Cheese Crêpe for her. Portions were hefty and ever tasty. Romantic little surprise pre-anniversary breakfast was a hit. Wi-fi a little shady, but then again it just made the company I was with that much better to look at… See ya Unilocaler’s… Time to take my beauty home and cuddle!

Came here with my niece we both never had crepes before and we were in for a treat. We had a groupon deal so we decided to try it. We came on a weekday for lunch. They had many flavors of to chose from we both decided on breakfast crepes. I had eggs and bacon and she had chicken and spinach she doesn’t like mushrooms and they were accommodating and changed it for her with no problem. We also got a desert crêpe to try as well and we chose to share the apple and caramel one. The service here is a bit slow but that’s because the crepes are made to order so we did wait a little while for them to come out. When they did come out they were hot and delicious! Each one came with a side salad. We both enjoyed our meal and the we really enjoyed the desert crêpe that one was the most memorable one for me. Overall it was good but not sure if I would return. It was worth a try and I am glad we got to eat something we wouldn’t normally have. Get a groupon and try it out!
