I have ordered from this place for over 15 years and it’s fine Chinese food. The negative reviews seem to be from people who had one bad experience. I suspect that when people asked for their money back or got orders mixed up, they were really hungry and really upset about it all and things just escalated. If you are nice, they will be nice back. I usually get the vegetarian stuff and my girlfriend orders whatever and it’s all quick and delicious. If you visit on some afternoons, there might be a bunch of loud kids eating their greasy chicken wings. Get over it.

I wound up throwing away everything I got with the exception of the egg roll. I got beef and broccoli combo. The beef wasn’t edible. I don’t think it was even beef. My friend got sesame chicken. The chicken was gross. I figured I would just eat the rice but that was t even good. Very disappointing.

Food was decently priced but for a reason. Nothing was horrible, but absolutely average. Delivery took over an hour and the delivery man showed up after the projected delivery window. I would never order from here again and will try a different Chinese restaurant in the future.

This place is dirty, greasy Chinese food. It is what it is and it doesn’t pretend to be high end dining. Fast delivery and the food is good, given what it is. General Tso is high sodium fun.

PLEASEREAD: Here is why I gave 1star. I was very disappointed with their business practice after calling in a order for pick up and getting home only to find I brought home the wrong order! I thought no problem I will call and let them know. When I call from my home, the woman tells me they know and to come back to get my order. As if It was that simple– no apology and no other way to get me my food. I didn’t want to go through the inconvenience of going back down/up stairs again to my apartment for their mistake. I tell her on the phone that I much rather have it delivered after in disbelief they would suggest I go back to get it. No more than 5 minutes later, delivery man shows up and wants to exchange the food, I tell him usually the consumer keeps it since I could have done xy and z to it. Long story short. This place did not want to accommodate me the meal, furthermore wanted me to go back downstairs and get my order and also demand I pay for their own blunder which they told me they would have to throw out anyway! And out of principle got a 5.00 tip from me just for bringing it to my door– something that I should have gotten in the first place. How a 10.35 charge went to $ 21.55? And missed out on my free can of soda… tell me why I would give them anymore than 1star???

A neighborhood chinese fast food. Nothing to write home about. I ordered Mei Fun but got egg noodles instead. I was disappointed since I was craving Mei Fun.

I’m vegan and I ordered vegetable chow mein. when I got the food it had eggs. I also ordered vegetable dumpling that were soggy & had no vegetables in then. I threw it in the trash. my mixed vegetables came in a small bowl i dont know why this order was $ 20. I called her & told her my food had eggs she said that’s not her problem & she wasn’t exchanging the order. she said it’s my fault for not saying I didn’t want eggs. mind you I said I want rice noodles with vegetables only nothing else. I told her I wanted my money back she kept talking over me. I had to walk in the rain just to get a new order. when I got there the girl who was on the phone was about 15⁄17. they tried to blame me saying I wasted their food blah blah blah … when I finally got home I had oily ass food. I will NEVEREVERBUY from them again. I gave my dogs the food the rest I threw in the trash

Not sure why this place has such mediocre ratings. I ordered delivery… it arrived like, LIGHTNING fast. Quickest delivery I’ve ever gotten, actually. Got the black bean chicken and veg chow fun. Surprisingly decent food. Portions are the right size for 1 person, instead of family style like many other Chinese places. I think I will be ordering from here again.

It’s 3 stars for what it is; cheap, greasy, fill you up quick food. Chicken and broccoli entrée was the best cheap Chinese I’ve had in the area.

It’s an inexpensive, Chinese joint that doesn’t claim to be anymore than what it is. I ordered the sweet and sour chicken and I got an order of dumplings along with a soda because I wanted to exceed the $ 10 credit card minimum. The sweet and sour chicken was nice and lightly crispy and the sauce came on the side in a big plastic container. It came with fried rice which was average, but there was definitely some flavor and it wasn’t bad by any means. It had onions in it which I’m not used to with my fried rice, but I enjoyed it nonetheless. The dumplings were a little below average and came with their own sauce which was pretty good to compensate. They were very filling and you got a lot though for $ 4.99. The restaurant itself I’m sure gets way more delivery and pickup orders than people eating in, but I decided to eat there. It was nothing special at all and I don’t even know why I started writing about this. It was around their peek time and some of the tables weren’t very clean aka bits of rice and sauce on the tables. Very very very average atmosphere. Overall, an okay place that I’ll be returning to so I can get my cheap, mediocre Chinese food fix.

This is my go-to for Chinese food near Columbia. It’s nothing special or gourmet, but it’s simple and delicious, and I’ve never been disappointed, plus it’s pretty cheap. I do like relatively bland, subtle flavors though, so take that into account. I particularly recommend the«diet food.» It’s served with sauce on the side, so it’s never too greasy. I also particularly like the dishes with«Chinese vegetables.» It’s a cool blend of stuff I don’t know the names of and which you don’t really find outside of Chinese restaurants.

My husband and I had to search for a new chinese take out place after Wai Lee closed and sold their business to New Kam Lai? Not sure, but it sucks now. This place was cheap and tasty and service was super fast. Ordered and took less than 20 minutes to get delivered. Tried the steamed dumplings, and four seasons(chicken, shrimp, pork, vegetables) and egg drop soup. All good and would get again.
Food took a little longer than expected to cook, but was definitely fresh. I got the General Tso chicken with white rice for $ 5.95 so price wise it wasn’t bad at all & the portion was enough for me to divide into two meals.

does the job of a cheap, corner, decent Chinese take-out place. for those that want to stray from the chic-broc combo, they also have southern tastes on the menu, a la fried chicken, fries, and more fried items. they’re also very cordial and fast. you get what you pay for here, so manage your expectations and satisfy your shameful cravings here!

Ideally, 31⁄2 stars. Okay, so this place may not be the first place you run to for Chinese food. But when you need greasy Chinese delivery for an affordable price, there is none like it. Hubby and I have tried numerous other Chinese take-outs near this area(W 90 – 100’s) w/comparable prices, but this place actually comes closest to being the most authentic, efficient, and affordable. Some faves: Roast Pork Mei Fun, Beef w. Ginger and Scallion, Roast Pork w/Bean Sprouts or Chinese Veggies. Their lunch specials come with roast pork fried rice and soup of choice. One lunch special can last till dinner, if you are not a big eater. Delivery takes usually under 20 minutes, rain or shine. Decent Chinese for two under 15 $– and hubby and I can down a lot of food. Chicken Wings w/Garlic Sauce is hit or miss.

Decent chicken lo mein and f’ing fantastic scallion pancakes. I’ll call that a «win». Good enough for who it’s for. (In this case, that’d be moi.)

Me: You want to order dinner? Roommate: Chinese? Me: Ok, lets do ______________ Roommate: Nah lets do up on 109th. Me: Awwwwwwwwwww. I’ll play you for it. I rolled a 6 in cee-lo and he rolled triple 5’s. His steak with fried plantains were pretty good but the Chinese is just the cheapest and lowest of quality. The prices are the only good thing going on. Everyone’s review on this place are great by the way.

Checklist for cheap, fast Chinese food: 1. Marginal quality 2. Fast service 3. Low prices, even lower for lunch 4. A large amount of food. Check. Check. Check and check. My low expectation were met by this«restaurant». When I think of Chinese restaurants, two types come to mind. The first is the fast food Chinese place, of which Concord Garden belongs. All of these restaurants use the same company to design their menus, the same soda distributors to being their cans, and similar base flavors for all of their dishes. The other kind of Chinese place is more upscale, and will make it a point to mention the regional stylings of each of their dishes. Szechuan versus Cantonese, etc. Concord Garden is not this place. So, if you want something cheap that will hold you over until your direct deposit clears at midnight, then might I suggest… this place.
