Columbus Restaurant

This place is the bane of my existence. They stay open all night on the weekends and blare bass heavy music and have every so often have a DJ that gets on a really loud microphone. Every weekend like clock work I come home from a long day of work dying for a good night sleep, and that stupid music is full volume from 12am on. I have tried calling them to ask them to turn the music down, but I never get any results. Usually they just hang up on me.
There are also usually loud people hanging around outside screaming at each other. Basically this is a loud place that is inconsiderate to their neighbors. Never been in there to have the food, or drinks, and never will because I would never support a business that behaves like a narcissistic college student.
I hope the people who own and work at the place learn manners, but until then I guess I’ll just be up until 2:30am writing Unilocal reviews. Good and bad «reviewees» alike, you can thank Columbus Restaurant for those reviews…
Here’s an edit to say I haven’t slept in 2 days cause of this place… my coworkers love me on weekends… I have to move out of this neighborhood so I can get sleep…

I not only live in the neighborhood; but also get deliveries from here and have been there a few times. The restaurant is pretty small, but that is what a a fonda (small spanish food restaurant really is)… I’m totally okay with that. The food is delicious, it really is. I’ve only had a few instances where the food isn’t that great, and it’s because of the plantain’s quality, not the chefs.
You can order through seamless web and that is a huge plus for me. However, here is where the stars disappear.
This restaurant might be a little overwhelmed lately, because they just can’t get their orders right. Either they send the wrong thing, or they forget something altogether, and my favorite, over an hour to deliver food.
I have called many times to find out what happened, and once a woman argued with me on that she didn’t have xyz, and that she was too busy with customers to argue with me over $ 3.00. Then when they forgot a piece of an order they said that they would return the $ and it didn’t happen. Another time when they didn’t send part of an order, they said that on the next order they would add it for free… and they did.
I find that they are not always reliable when placing orders online; but they can be pretty sweet on the phone. They might need a bit of learning how to be a top notch restaurant, but you might come to expect that from a small fonda.
I will order from the again, but I will have to check the bags right away to see if I got my entire order, and call quickly.
If you do go there to eat… have fun. It’s definitely a latin place lively with music going. The food is great and they usually don’t mess those orders up. Buen provecho!
