The store is located in the tragically hip Meatpacking district. It is a hole in the wall store. Too many employees and not enough product, well actually I don’t think any more products can fit into this small store. Not worth the effort it takes to get here.
Wanted to purchase a pair of sneakers to take on a trip but was told that the brand was not comfortable to stay in for long periods of time, huh! Why do you sell sneakers that are not comfortable? #FAIL I didn’t even bother to look for any other items. Just walked out.

I am a long term user of the Columbia Sports line. Last week in their NYC Meatpacking District Store, I was treated with contempt by the store manager, Sonia. Her deliberate tone was belligerent and condescending. I have never been spoken to with such disregard by someone in customer service.

I am a longtime customer of Columbia sportswear and recommended that a friend and I go there when she needed boots. She bought boots from a new salesperson who told her she would get a $ 25 gift certificate sent to her since the boots were over $ 100. He was new and really nice, but clearly was not so well informed with a rewards discount the boots tallied to $ 99. My friend after not receiving the gift certificate as she was told in my presence, went back to the store where the manager — Sonya – gave her attitude and called her a liar for saying she expected a gift certificate. What the hell kind of customer service is that! The store is totally empty and this manager was being inconvenienced by an actual customer. I would never buy another thing at that store and it has really changed my attitude towards Columbia. The behavior of this manager sends the wrong signal to staff as to appropriate behavior. RETRAIN This manager or get her away from the public!!!

Ridiculous. A small hole in the wall is what the website calls their «flagship store». Went there for a ski jacket and found minimal, mismatched stock. I had to ask for assistance despite there being more staff than customers in the store only to find out that they didn’t carry my size. Ok. I’m 3X and find it hard to buy off the rack. Here’s the thing though. Knowing my size and being realistic about it I called ahead earlier the same day and was told that they carried 3X and had two different jackets to choose from in either blue or black. I like the Columbia brand as good quality at reasonable cost but you can get it in a variety of major sports stores. Do yourself a favor and skip the trip over to this west side hole in favor of your local models or sports authority.

It’s Columbia Sportswear Co’s newest store in NYC, right by the Meatpacking District. I like Columbia gear and prefer to shop in company’s own store rather than in general sports stores because they have the best selection. They also have a very nice salesperson and this guy really made the otherwise bland shopping experience pleasant.
