Do yourself a favor and avoid this location immediately. Total rip off. Scooping speed: very slow Scooping size: 1⁄3 of a normal scoop I had to ask for more corn 3 times. and even then, the portion was still sub par. Then the worker rudely told me that this is the limit and I couldn’t have anymore. The rest of the staff on the line glared at me as I proceeded towards the cash register. What the hell? To top it off, the chicken was charred black and underseasoned. to the point where it tasted bitter. Horrible. If you’ve been to any other chipotle, you know what the standard scoop size is. Don’t waste your time here.

I’m a huge fan of Chipotle(sometimes going 3x a week — don’t judge me) and this Chipotle is rather fast paced but I never had a problem until a few days ago. This time, they were in a HUGE rush and had some issues with comprehension. I asked for a little bit of cheese, and was given a giant handful. Then they put guac on my bowl, when I hadn’t asked for it(and I hate avocados) so I asked them to make me a new bowl. They charged me $ 9 and didn’t even put chicken in it(which is what I asked for). Sorry, but you guys are a shit show.

hungry? hungover? running on fumes? thank the Lord for Chipotle. there is no more a welcome sight when you’re hungover from Sunday DRUNCH and it’s only like 5 pm. need that carb/protein/cheese/guac soakage of sweet Sunday boozin’ and you’re on 8th street. then park it at Chipotle. as Sunday sunlight lit my path from West Village spirits to Chipotle… i rejoiced in knowing that a $ burrito would do my body good. the consistency of Chipotle is why i enjoy eating there – even in a post-drinking stupor. the simple assembly line of friendly Chipotlers is always a welcoming experience. my go-to is a burrito or burrito bowl(this time a burrito): carnitas + cilantro lime brown rice + pinto beans + salsa + sour cream + romaine lettuce + cheese + guacamole($ 1 extra). the talented burrito folders origami’ed the overstuffed burrito with ease. the staff is super friendly, works quick, and always is up for putting together monstrous burrito creations. the food/cashier is tucked in the back of the restaurant. the rest of the space is a variety or seating and table options for small or big groups. of course, Mr. Pibbs is on tap here! LOVEIT! i may have savaged my burrito before even making it to the front entrance. BEASTMODE! drops mic so i can two-hand this burrito that is splitting at the seams. i out. zzz

It gets 3 stars because the food is as good as any other Chipotle, which is pretty good for the price. But this place is one of the less well-managed Chipotles I’ve come across. 1) They don’t REALLY open at 11. They open at 11:10, after a whole line of people has accumulated outside. 2) When they do open at 11:10, they’re already out of stuff. I don’t mean they haven’t put it out yet. I mean they’re scraping the bottom of the tray while somebody else is feverishly making more. If I’m the third person in line, there’s no way somebody else managed to snatch up almost the entire container of beans. Why are you STARTING the day with you trays only 10% full? What are you doing between 11 and 11:10OTHER than making sure you have enough food to open the doors? 3) The soda machine is around the corner from the food line and thus out of the staff’s field of view. Several times I’ve run across random bums sneaking in and filling up on soda. I know it’s NYC, and I know they have it rough and I’d probably steal some easy soda if I were in their position. But it shows a lack of concern on the part of management that they don’t at least attempt to police that part of the store. One of them was convinced I was the devil. So there’s also a safety issue. The place seems content to just be a mediocre Chipotle, and check off enough boxes to not get harassed by Corporate. They could use some polishing.

Stingy and out of everything. Needs to get it together. Not the Chipotle standard. I friggin love Chipotle. This one? …*sideeye*. Example of Their Tomfoolery: One time, because I know they’re stingy, I asked them to be generous because I wasn’t getting that much in my burrito. The witch had the nerve to not only ignore that I’d asked her anything or that a human being has addressed her, but then when her fellow employee kindly reminded her of my request, she replied«it’s gonna be big anyway» without even looking up – as if I wasn’t standing right there. And it wasn’t big. At all. Stingy. Nope, nuh unh, not this one, don’t go.

Hands down the best chipotle experience I’ve had in 4 years of living in NYC. The staff members were super welcoming and happy to prepare my food exactly the way I like it. Forgive my misspelling of the following staff members names: I was greeted by Nicholas, served by Maricelis and paid with Fabiola. They really brightened my day. Can’t wait to come back! Thanks!

I’m a fan a of chipotle in general and have it once or twice a week! I’ve tried many branches, but this one is closer to my workplace and I go(used to go actually) there frequently. I have to say that this one is the worst among all chipotles I’ve tried. THESERVINGISOBVIOUSLYSMALLER than any other chipotle I’ve ever tried. This is really bizarre, not because of 10−20% less serving you get, but this mindset of keeping the price the same as other locations and reducing the amount of serving to increase the benefit is really annoying. So, I prefer to walk 5 minutes more and go to another chipotle.

3-stars is about the highest rating I’m likely to give any Chipotle. So I’d rate them as good as this kind of thing gets for me. Line was long, but went super quick. Staff has the assembly deal down to a science. Most were cordial, if not friendly. We were in an out with highly caloric food in our hands within a matter of minutes. I will say, their chips aren’t as good as the ones at the Chipotle on 56th&6th. They just don’t have that limey, salty zing. Two of us got chips at this location, and hers were flat on flavor, while mine were properly hopped up with salt. Neither had any lime flavor.

*** Standard Service, Decent seating *** I enjoy coming here since it’s so conveniently located to the N R subway stops. There was a shortage of carnitas for awhile, but it seems like it’s back now for good! Standard service — although I’ve recently realized they’ve been really picky on serving size. Chipotle-just because I may look thin doesn’t mean I can’t eat a lot!

this location SUCKS, the people behind the counter are dumbass lazy, half the items were stil between refills or l getting prepped(its 6.15… dinner or pick up time… hellooooo) and their metabolism needs a desperate boost. you charge extra$ 2.30 for guac, at least fill the spoon and dump it in my bowl, that lazy confused woman gave me not even a regular spoonful of it and to top it the soda machine was not working…

So, I’m a big fan of chipotle but today it was terrible. I don’t know what was going on but normally what I love is the crispness, the freshness and flavor(I get a salad with almost everything) but today the rice, the meat, the sour cream, and the tortilla all fell flat. I came in at noon so it should have all been fresh but the meat was cold and the tortilla was hard just a couple seconds after I unwrapped it. I figure in all the times that I eat chipotle at least once is bound to be bad, guess this was it. The staff was really friendly though!

Pretty ok as far as Chipotles go. The NYU proximity makes it more likely to run out of certain things at night. And near impossible to sit unless it’s the off hours.

Another vote for this being the WORSTCHIPOTLESERVICEEVER. They should be ashamed to associate themselves with the other Chipotle’s in the area because the customer service at other locations is 10,000 times better. Just because you have college students in the area looking for cheap eats doesn’t mean you get to crap out on customer service. Not only do they give you REALLY small servings, they pretend they don’t hear you, or do the complete opposite of what you’re asking when it comes to sauces(a little sour cream to them meant a big heaping spoonful), take really long time to set up, really just want to rush you to the cashier station. This location really sucks. I’d walk the extra blocks for the one on St Mark’s place.

They randomly decided today to start charging an extra $ 1.25 for extra rice even tho I don’t get any beans and go there 3 times a week if not more so. Attitude has been horrible at this one too and the line has been slow lately too. There are plenty of other Chipotles in the area… AVOIDAVOIDAVOID

Massive line on sofritas promo day, and finally was able to order up a tasty sofritas burrito. Staff handled the huge line pretty well but wouldn’t recommend coming during any peak meal times because they don’t move through the line as they apparently used to.

I have been to Chipotle many times. Everything about the Chipotle here on 8th street pale in comparison to its other Chipotle counterparts(like the one on broadway and St. Marks) The service here is horrible, the management falls around, they rush to make your order and taco and make an extreme mess of a job. If you want Mexican there are many other places around the NYU area that beats the Chipotle here…

This is worst Chipotle I have ever been to. They give you maybe a third of the burrito bowl portions that you usually get at other Chipotles. I wish I took a photo of how pathetic my $ 8.50 lunch looked. I had to buy extra food afterward because it just was not filling. Ridiculous. Lines are also always long, but that’s a given since it’s right on NYU campus. This location is the most convenient for me to get to, but I think I’ll walk the extra couple blocks and go to the St. Marks one instead. Tiny portions. Long lines. Never again.

A franchise located on NYU’s campus that performs at a lower standard. Surprise surprise. I don’t even know where to begin. The employees here do not know what the phrase«just a little bit» means. I don’t want my food drenched in sauce just because you want to get to the next customer faster. This is ironic considering they are SOSKIMPY with practically everything else such as meat, rice, corn, and guac. Don’t expect to get the same amount of food you would at any other location. This place is such a rip off. As usual, the location definitely keeps the business alive but you might want to think twice about coming here. I get that Chipotle is Chipotle and when you’re craving it, you have to have it, but I personally would go to another one given the opportunity. Once, I found a piece of avocado skin in my guac, but that can’t be worse than the time my friend was given beans that were sour. SOURBEANS? WHAT? I do everything I can to avoid this Chipotle and the only times I go are when I’m stuck at the library 4 blocks away and can’t go to the one in Union Square or St. Marks. Proceed with caution here.
