Chemtech Exterminating Corp

Unfortunately, I have to second the posting by Yiska O. (provided we’re both talking about the one at
and phone no. (888) 347‑2010, which is the one I’m reviewing) and it saddens me that this is my first Unilocal posting ever, but my experience with Chemtech was so negative for squirrel trapping/​removal that I had to post.
First off, they require full payment up front, which is already an issue, but hey, I had a rodent emergency that seemed… somewhat straightforward, so I figured it’d get resolved quickly and went with it. Second, they can’t adhere to any kind of schedule. While setting an appointment, I was dealing with «Steve» who said I wouldn’t need to be present when they made their first inspection of the our house and the problem. As a result, I didn’t set an official appointment and when the next day rolled around, I got a phone call at 7pm on my way home from work asking, «Where are you? We’ve been waiting for an hour.»
Their «inspection» then occurred at 8pm in the dark with a flashlight, when no one could really see anything. Two nights later they put up a couple of traps over some holes that were in spots completely unrelated to where the sounds in the house were coming from and… that was it! No additional searching (particularly in the area of the house that I indicated the noises were coming from), no checkups beyond what was done in the dark at night. And no visits.
I finally needed to get some repairs done and asked them two days before the repairs began (around 3 weeks after the traps went up with no success because… they weren’t in the right place) to remove the traps so work could begin. No response. So I had the repairmen remove them. Steve went ballistic saying that «his property» had been removed and I «let someone touch his traps.» and ended it with «This case is closed.»
So. Customer service = 0. Value = 0 (They got a LOT of money up front for a total of around 1.5 hrs of work). Success = 0.
Avoid at all costs.

Just to be clear, these guys may be effective for other issues but do NOT hire them to get rid of bed bugs! We hired them because they were a one stop shop, meaning they do the prep and extermination, but while they offered a 30 day guarantee, they promised we’d only need one spray & fumigation, fast forward over the course of 2 and a half weeks we needed 3 exterminations to get rid of them, each time putting our stuff back then needing to re sterilize everything all over again. They were just not thorough. Not to mention, ruining some of our belongings in the cleanup. The manager is not on site to supervise his team & while I believe well meaning this company’s lack of professionalism made a stressful situation even worse. Plus, I partly chose them because I found their company listed on Unilocal in the nyc bed bug extermination search with a glowing review which has since been dropped from that search list & disappeared. I only found them for review by a direct name search. I’m not sure if someone was scamming but I wanted to spare others if possible this poor choice. In short, do not hire these guys!
