Really bad customer service. I’ve gone in before, and had pretty okay experiences but this week I went in(with two babies) at 6:54pm. The guy behind the desk didn’t seem to want to help and became very impatient and started kicking me out of the store because he had to get to HIS children, which is understandable. I was trying to buy a utility knife but needed to make a $ 10 minimum to use my card and he wouldn’t let me pick anything else up. He also noted that he sent in his report already so he wouldn’t get paid for the sale for that day anyway. The other man in the store didn’t say much, though he confirmed which kind of tool I needed. Doors should be locked at 6:50 if you don’t want to take a customer at 6:55. Furthermore you should tell the customer you’re closed before they enter, I had no idea the store closed at 7. Had he said he was closed, I might not have ever found out how rude he was and continued to shop there. Go to Home Depot or Lowes a few avenues over, if you actually want help, or a store that follows their hours.

I love this place, it’s overwhelming with inventory. I esp. love the Russian dolls in window. I visit the store whenever I come to NYC, to have a lively conservation with the owner, who has a great sense of humor!

Copied a key for me at a reasonable price. Small store but a good selection.

Great little hardware store. Helpful and smart staff. It’s on 9th Ave between 24 – 25 not on 25 Street.

Looking for a brand of glass glue, stopped by here given great Unilocal.Lady behind counter offered me various glues, but not the brand recommended by , so she said wait for the guy, he’s coming. He arrives, repeats my request with accent & incredulous look and tone, as if I had just asked him if he carried pink giraffes. really, it’s a known brand. Left without getting anything on my list. Really, don’t ridicule your potential customers. A «sorry we don’t carry that, can I suggest…» would have been more beneficial to us both.

This is where you should go if you want to ripped off and treated disrespectfully. Both employees I encountered were rude, and un-professional. How they stay in business is a mystery. This was my third bad encounter with poor results each time. I don’t bash establishments often. But in this case I felt three incidents of rudeness is enough. If this doesn’t sway you. look around and ask why all of the product is covered in a layer of dust and bad attitudes.

Fantastic shop. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. The shop keep showed two different sets tools and the reasoning why one was more then the other.

Amazing service. A small business to support. So friendly, personable, honest and helpful to save money. The shop man even offered to help with services at my apt when he was available. The padlock on the window of my new place had no key, so he offered to help me cut it off. Told me exactly how to accomplish the projects I came in seeking tools for and made copies of my keys right on the spot in 5 min. Such a kind and great shop owner. He is Russian and very knowledgeable and has pictures of his kids my the check out. An amazing hard wear store. Small and unique.

Very friendly and helpful. The store is cluttered so it was hard to find what I needed on my own, but staff was more than happy to help me find it and to answer any of my questions. I would recommend this hardware store to others.
