I could not be happier with the finished products that I leave Chelsea Frames with. Jaclyn and her staff are wonderful, and I always feel so welcome when I walk in there (especially if Kiwi is on the premises). The selection is huge, and you can always find something that you will like. I never feel rushed or like I’m being a hassle when I try thirty different matting and framing choices on a piece. I could not recommend a better place to get your framing done than here!

I’ve had several pieces framed here and I’ve always had a good experience. They always seem to find the perfect frame to match whatever I bring in, from random homemade art pieces to photographs to expensive purchased pieces of art. I love that the place is locally and women-​owned. Most of the people I’ve worked with there have been professional, creative, and friendly. The owner’s dog is often in the store and is totally adorable. Love this place.

I’ve gone here for a number of projects and their work is always impeccable. They stick to the budget and timeline that they estimate. It is definitely expensive (hence the 4 stars) but they have a great eye and can make a piece look like it’s worth a million dollars, even if it was from a flea market!

They committed to having an important order ready and failed to deliver on time. Unfortunately, they offered no acceptable resolution and their general attitude was «oh well». I would never do business with them again. Buyer beware…

I’ve had many, many pieces framed here over the years, from an enormous poster to a small etching. Each salesperson has taken the time to help me choose a frame, mat, and glass that are suitable for each piece. I’ve also been referred to an excellent paper restorer through Chelsea Frames and he does marvelous work. The frame selection is unbeatable and all my framed pieces look fabulous in my apartment – I always get lots of compliments. It’s not the cheapest place but you get what you pay for. Service has always been professional and I’ve never felt unwelcome. Don’t know what the naysayers here are talking about…

I have never had such RUDE service. Despite being the only customer when I entered the store, I was abruptly told by the red headed hag working the desk that they were too busy to assist me and that I should return at another time. Seriously??? I had heard horrible things about this store from multiple sources, but based on my own personal experience, there are plenty of other framers in NYC that provide helpful and courteous service.

They are super helpful! I previously lived in the building and got a new painting that needed to be stretched on wood and they did an amazing job. Also when I was moving they offered to wrap out paintings so they would not get ruined and did a great job. The owner is great and will always go back.

While the prices might make you reconsider just how much you want that print framed after all, the service, plentiful framing choices, attention to detail, and the quality will make it worth the hole in the wallet.
