No stars. The food is ok, but the reason for none is the service is so incredibly bad it’s shocking. This area in general doesn’t have too many options but this will never again be one of mine.

Delicious sandwiches and amazing selection of baked goods. Option to order online, which is helpful in beating the lunch rush. Perfect to grab a sandwich and enjoy it in central park just two blocks away.

The perfect neighborhood spot for when you want to pop in and get something both tasty and convenient. It’s a small space with just a few tables, but I usually go during those hungover weekend mornings when not very many people are out and about yet. My friends and I like coming here for coffee and a quick and casual breakfast — they have a great selection of breakfast wraps, sandwiches, quiches, pastries, and more. Make sure to get there before 2pm if you want any type of breakfast sandwich though.

I know I can get a reasonable price quiche here! I just had a hankering for one! I decided on the Quiche Lorraine. They also have leeks, spinach and broccoli. Employees are friendly. I find them to be eager to please. The prices are very reasonable. They have a wide variety of options to choose from. The combo half panini and salad runs about $ 7.50. The tables are comfortable. It’s a small place. I usually find a seat before the crowds arrive. There’s not much else to say. It’s a nice spot when you want a quick bite to eat. I’ve never asked but something tells me they do not have s public restroom. The place was clean.

Good, reasonably priced lunch spot for this neighborhood. Huge variety compared to how small the place is, and the staff are friendly. Best coffee treat: iced cappuccino Anything with foccacia bread and cheese is a good choice but their wraps are also solid. They have a cute little form to fill out with your salad order. Pay the $ 2 to get it chopped if you can — it’s better.

Every time I stop in, I’m immediately thrown back to the times we found ourselves here in high school. Champignon was never a first choice but we went multiple times a week for the sheer convenience and routine of it. I think back fondly to $ 1 iced coffees that consisted of ice, sugar, milk, and coffee– in that order. What coffee connoisseurs we were… A solid place for food, but wouldn’t go out of my way for it. I’ve gotten many panini’s and soups here– reasonably priced given it’s location with pretty generous portions. Might take a while to get to you. A ton of desserts available as well — often very creatively decorated — and definitely something for any kind of sweet craving you might have. The people who work here have always been friendly– generally you order at the counter and wait to be called. A chill place to get work done or hang out with a friend, but might get busy during certain peak times(before/after school or during lunch hours) due to customers from the nearby schools/hospital.

Waitstaff is unfriendly, rude and could not care less about their jobs. This attitude must be shared by management since this has been the case for a few years now. The food is subpar as well.

Indifferent wait staff and management. I told the manager walking by my table the coffee tasted burned. He said we just made it and that was that.

Decent food/drinks but the service is terrible!!! The staff here is unfriendly and just have a nasty attitude. I come here only because it’s the only bakery near Mt. Sinai, and I have never experienced good customer service from them. From the person that takes your order to the cashier, everyone just seems miserable. If you’re looking to get coffee/drinks just go to Starbucks, they don’t deserve your business. For baked goods, they actually have a good selection of cakes starting from $ 32. So far I’ve tried their white chocolate mouse and strawberry sponge cake which were both good. But unfortunately because of their poor service, I would not recommend this place.

I would say closer to 4 stars for food but the service there is just terrible. Rude counter people who turn a simple order for coffee and a pastry into a 5 minute wait with no sense of urgency or apology.

I had to study for a final and wanted to feed my inner hipster at the same time so I ventured into this intimate café. The coffee brew was good; flavorful and bold. There are a few seats inside but not too many. There was a decent menu for food items that I will definitely give a try in the near future.

I ordered online, paid for my food and when I got to my office(work at Mt. Sinai) realized the order was missing an extra ingredient that I had been charged for. When I returned, the manager(who was behind the counter when I picked up my food) said«I didn’t get your order wrong, they did. I wasn’t here when you ordered your food.» Definitely not the appropriate response, considering he was right behind the counter when I ordered(chatting with an employee about the customer in front of me who had asked for more milk in her coffee-he didn’t realize I speak Spanish and was telling his employee not to give customers everything they ask for). And considering the fact that as manager, he’s responsible for his employees – if they mess up it reflects on him. However, he proceeded to give me a fresh meal so I did not address his rudeness-just made a mental note, grabbed my food and left. Once they finally gave me the right thing, it tasted good enough. But I’m not sure I’ll return – if the manager thinks it’s ok to make comments like that when his restaurant is at fault, then I most likely won’t be patronizing this restaurant again.

very rude! I asked if they have clam chowder over the phone just to make sure before I get my lunch. The person who picked up the phone answered me with a maybe. How can you not know? He can simply put me on hold and asked his co-worker. So I asked again, if they have and yelled«NO» very disappointing.

Decided to try this place for lunch, it’s really popular with a lot of people who work at Mount Sinai. Got the Fifth Avenue sandwich which was AMAZING. A little messy, but worth it. I would never think to put goat cheese, avocado, caramelized onions, sundried tomato aioli and grilled zucchini on a chicken sandwich! So good. Especially the zucchini and goat cheese. One star off for it being a bit pricey– my sandwich was $ 9.50!

A petite café I’m looking forward to trying again and boosting with another star. A few metal paneled bistro tables outside lead the way into a cozy interior space filled with breakfast, lunch, and coffee break options. There is a selection of pre-made parfaits, fruits and other quick to grab breakfast options in one refrigerated display, but the real allure comes from the myriad baked goods and sandwiches. At a glance this seems like a place only to fill your starchier fantasies with scones, muffins, croissant and cookies, but the salads and sandwiches also look delicious and generously portioned. A full café coffee menu ices the cake with convenience. I only tried a cappuccino and small fruit and granola parfait, but both were great. Prices are a bit high(my items reaching the $ 7 mark), but given UES(Upper East Side for out of towners) location I’m not sticker shocked. I’ll be back to sample a sandwich and to pass more time seated and people watching.

This busy café serves the neighborhood which includes the Mount Sanai Hospital crowd. The coffee is good but the baked goods are over-priced. Champignon does have a good select of items and their service is fine. Service is fine. We stopped by for a light breakfast of two items(chocolate croissant, fruit tart) and two coffees; total cost just under $ 15.

Overpriced. So overpriced. Many cute food options, but not out of this world delicious. Do I want to pay $ 7 for a tiny wrap? Gets crowded, and very chaotic to order. Cramped space. From experience, iced coffee is a bit watery. Staff is nice though. Elegant atmosphere.

Neighborhood place. They have sandwiches, bakery treats, fancy little desserts. Because of the location, they just get local residents and people from the hospital. You wouldn’t walk by here otherwise, unlike say 86th st or 3rd which get a lot more incidental foot traffic.

I went here the past two morning to grab some breakfest and coffee before work. Its hard to explain but the vibe I get from the employees is that it’s a burden that I am ordering anything. It appears to be a hassle for them to make a cup of black coffee… so pouring it from the pot into a cup, or a bagel(which I guess requires a little more effort). The service is slow and the staff isn’t very friendly. Yesturday there was three people in line ahead of me yet it took 20 min to just get a cup of coffee… today I ordered my bagel and coffee, was waiting for my bagle and it was just sitting behind the counter until I could get someone’s attention and ask if it was mine. I rather deal with the hassle at starbucks(and the bad coffee) than rude people.

Me encanta el lugar, acogedor, fresco… Su café Olé es mi preferido. El trato es muy agradable y los camareros simpáticos. Wifi si lo solicitas. Totalmente recomendable!!!
