Ordered the matcha americano and a chocolate chip cookie. The americano was well prepared. The portion was generous for 4 $(around 14oz). The glassware it was served in was comfortable and soothing. The cookie(4 $ per) was inedible. It was too salty(salt was added in an attempt to enhance the chocolate) and dry which made it a poor pairing for the americano. A specialty coffee/tea shop with subpar desserts? Why even? Tip: If you’re new to the matcha beverage scene, start with the matcha hot chocolate and work your way up to the matcha americano with a matcha latte in between

Yummy yummy spot with a great location and ambiance! It is just outside the Christopher Sheridan metro stop(1 train) and sits on the corner of an intersection so you can sip your drink while people watching. I got the Matcha hot chocolate and was initially worried it might be too sweet, but the Matcha actually seemed to dull the chocolate’s sweetness a bit– love! For a tiny shop, there are surprisingly seats for around 15. Most are stools but there are 2 tables. Taking a star off because I am still not used to NY prices and feel uneasy about paying $ 5+ for a cup of hot chocolate:)

Matcha Latte, how do I count thee ways? I’ve always wondered how they’ve figured out how to stay in the limelight and now that I’ve finally stepped foot through those doors, now I know too. As for what they offer, they’re great but something I feel is missing. 4.4÷5.0 I’ve often walked by and attempted to grab a seat, only to find it extremely jam-packed– Not once or twice, but many many times over. Any given day, it really didn’t matter. I wanted to sit down and experience this magical drink that’s been instagrammed to death. Last night, I finally had that opportunity as it was barely half full, which was a rarity. I sat down with my friend for a hot matcha latte, and appearances do not disappoint… before me was this magical elixir, topped with a fair sprinkle of matcha tea/powder. As anyone can tell you, a latte is a latte, and it tasted of exactly that. How the matcha didn’t permeate throughout the drink is of consequence to me. I was hoping for more, and I didn’t get that… Instead, much of the matcha was on the top-most layer, above the foam, as if only as part of the experience. The flavor was simply too subtle. Drinks aside, the café offers a great place to sit down, grab a bite and drink, and at times, relax, if it’s not buzzing with conversations and energy. Would I drop $ 6 for another? Perhaps I’ll try a different drink. I noticed they have several.

Seeing how hype up this place was, I decided to give it a try. The interior of the place was simple, little decorations with some seating area. You order, pay and get your food/drink. I had the matcha latte. It came with a latte art in the form of a heart. It was SUPER foamy. I tasted more foam and milk than matcha. I proceeded to drink my cup of matcha latte with caution, thinking it would be HOT. However, it wasn’t due to the amount of foam on top. It wasn’t too great.

Fashion blogger Extrapetite brought me here with her Instagram post! I ordered the matcha hot chocolate and it was [insert thumbs up emoji here] I paid the extra .50 to get almond milk. The drink wasn’t too sweet and was just right. The matcha wasn’t overpowering at all. I was planning to order the avocado toast but then after reading Elsie W.‘s review, I opted for the miso butter toast. It was really gooood! And it comes with avocados on the side too so why not get avocado and miso instead of just avocado? The arugula and red onions complemented well with the toast. I’ll be back.

Small café with a matcha centered menu, they even make matcha hot chocolate! —matcha seasonal fizz: matcha shot in a fizzy drink, kind of refreshing but nothing i’d ever order again the foam art is beautiful here, it was pretty popular in Instagram! they’ve also got food from toast and sandwiches to yogurts seating is limited to maybe 10 or so counter seats and 2 table tops NOTE: conveniently RIGHT off the 1 subway stop

Beautiful new café that is filling the void left by café Angelique’s departure. The overpriced coffee is decent but the staff is slower than molasses and not too bright. Definitely do not come here if you are in a rush. If they hire new staff that understand words, and can make more than one coffee within a 20 minute timeframe, this place could be great.
