Absolutely fantastic. Their duck pasta and mushroom salad are always delicious.

Lucca and the crew at Cavatappo are so kind and always welcome the customer with a warm greeting and smile, making you feel right at home. The atmosphere is friendly and inviting. The menu is amazing and each dish is made with perfection and tastes delicious! I have never had a bad entrée here and I have been coming here for years. I always bring my visitors here and they rave about the experience and the food and always want to come back on their next visit. The duck pappardelle is the most delicious, amazing dish I have ever tasted and it has me continuously coming back for more. I have tried pappardelle in other NYC restaurants and no one can match Cavatappo’s pappardelle! I am so happy I live so close and can wow my palate regularly with this delicious menu! Definitely don’t pass this restaurant up!

Went here for brunch with my boyfriend. The food was delicious and we got free fried olives for our Unilocal check-in and they were SOGOOD! The brunch menu was huge because you can order from the lunch menu too and still get the $ 15 deal with a drink. I really want to try their dinner too. Our waitress was wonderful and I liked the atmosphere. We will definitely be back.

This place finally got rid of the high tables and added an actual bar making it a viable wine bar and evening destination. I like thier meat and cheese platters, but have never really been fond of their prepared dishes. Nothing wrong with them per se, just not to my taste. Wine selection is good and now that they have a bar I can see it as a nice alternative to other neighborhood watering hole.

I ordered a delivery and after taking a few bites, I noticed the food smelled strong on some sort of cleaning product(smelled very similar to bleach). The first guy who picked up the phone at the restaurant said they may have accidentally stored the food containers close to the cleaning supplies and apologized. Then, someone else from the restaurant called me back and said that the first guy who called me doesn’t know what he’s talking about and became disgustingly rude to me. In addition to this, it was a struggle to have them reimburse me– when they finally did, it was followed by profanity. I have been ordering from here for quite some time. The behavior from them was appalling.

Ate at the bar, great service. Bartender was very friendly. Food was excellent and so was the wine. Ravioli and Salmon was excellent. Chocolate fondue w fruit for dessert was the best ever.

Never been here before… what hell man? I’ve been missing out on some of the best authentic Italian food in the City! Had the spinach and ricotta ravioli, then the gnocchi. Fresh pasta yes! Also, get the Molten Lava Cake… you’ll thank me later. Great food Great service. Go!!!

This was the only place we found in Unilocal that would take a last minute reservation for a Sunday brunch. We sat in the patio and the weather wasn’t bad for around noon time in September. I had the duck ragu brunch special(lunch size pasta with a beverage). The duck ragu was a little heavy, but tasty. My sangria was good as well! If you use the check in offer, you can get their fried olives. I was the only person at the table who ate olives, but I didn’t like olives enough to eat them all. It’s more of a share with your table kind of appetizer. Parking can be horrendous. Might be easier to park in a lot than circle for an hour looking for parking. Unilocal 100 Challenge — 47 of 100

Went to Cavatappo on a Thursday night. I feel they have an OKAY selection of wine, most of which were available by the glass or carafe. Got the calamari appetizer which I found underwhelming. The star of the night was my pappardelle with duck ragu. Incredibly tasty and not over salted. I love how they provide«appetizer» sized(half) portions of the pasta dishes or an entrée size for an additional $ 6. Gives your party an opportunity to sample a variety of different dishes. Finished the night off with an espresso which is always a nice touch! Casual ambiance. We had different wait staff throughout our meal so I wasn’t really sure who our main server was, but they were all fairly attentive. Clean restrooms. Cavatappo also offers different nightly specials, most of which revolve around their wine selection. Will definitely be back to give this place another try!

I’ve been going here for years and I have to say I love it. I used to get the linguini with bacon & onions but since I’ve become a vegetarian I switched to the eggplant and it’s equally delicious. The tomato cucumber & onion salad is awesome as well. I would definitely recommend trying this place — the balsamic reduction they serve with their bread is also fantastic!

We stopped in here late one evening for wine and cheese. We ordered the special for the evening — a bottle of wine from a nice selection and a «five cheese plate.» We selected the cheeses from a nice list and were not disappointed. The walnut bread that’s served with the cheese plate was fresh and tasty. It was a fine accompaniment to the cheeses, as were the fruit jam and sliced pear served on the plate. When we finished the first plate, we decided to order another one. We asked the waiter 9who was attentive without being fussy) for his recommendations for cheeses and a wine pairing. His choices were even better than our own. I would definitely return here to try the entrees, given the quality of the cheese plate and the level of service.

Cavatappo never disappoints. The food is solid, the service is first class, and Luca, the ever present owner makes everyone feel at home. It’s like eating in his house and his pride in his restaurant shows in everything they do. Fantastic neighborhood spot.

Nice outdoor seating without the Second Ave madness… The roasted veggie sandwich is definitely my favorite go to lunch item with a glass of rosé, with the shrimp salad in a close second. Their focaccia bread is to die for…

Tried Cavatappo last night for the first time and it was a great experience all around. I had a nice outside seat and a lovely waitress who was very attentive and helpful. I started with the Polenta & Mushrooms app., Soft polenta topped w/assorted sautéed mushrooms, fontina cheese and truffle oil. — it was phenomenal! It is also enough food to be a main dish. Ended the meal with the popular Spinach Pappardelle with duck ragu, and it was just as great as everyone has said. You cannot go wrong with either of these dishes. Very impressed all around and will recommend to others!

We always liked this place, its definitely a neighborhood favorite and good for families and groups. The menu is great, the wine list is exceptional for the price and it’s always an enjoyable experience. Last time we went for a family meal, it was spectacular. we had the appetizer sampling plate, which was huge but everything on it was incredible. Sometimes I stay away from«mezze» plates with a bunch of different things because the items don’t always go together but this appetizer sharing plate was absolutely the best. Grilled portobello mushrooms, chicken livers, incredible spread of cheese and olives, and everything is super delicious and fresh.

We made a reservation for four on a Friday night. We ordered the shredded Brussels sprout special salad which was delicious and was definitely enough for four as a starter. We then went our separate ways on ordering our main meals. I ordered the special braised short ribs which could have used salt, Derek ordered the rigatoni with eggplant which had more eggplant skin than eggplant meat, our friend ordered the chicken dish with mashed potatoes and our other friend ordered the chicken over a salad.(Forgot the names of the dishes!) Service was weird. We were seated immediately and were served drinks quickly but as soon as we ordered our main meals we were basically ignored! We think that maybe there was only one waitress for the entire restaurant but there were a ton of bus boys that seemed to not really care about efficiency and customer happiness. In order to pay, the four of us had to stand up so we could be noticed. Conclusion: NAY. wouldn’t go back-I’ve had better wine, better food and better service.

Delicious food, great prices. We were a party of six and they seated us comfortably. We ordered off the brunch menu and tried a bit of everything. Total came out to $ 16 pp which is a steal! Minimal crowding on a Sunday afternoon. Would definitely visit again.

Have been here 3 or 4 times and never had a bad meal. Last visit had: Arugula salad with goat cheese — eh, literally arugula, grated cheese, dressing, and a half a tomato cut into 4. This salad needs some spiffing up. Spinach pappardelle with duck — nice dish, good cream sauce enhanced by the duck, pasta cooked well Lamb shank — very good. Lamb is fork tender and you can pull it off the bone w/o using a knife. Rich dish, comes with couscous. Very filling too. If you tell them you are sharing a dish they’ll actually bring it on 2 different plates for you which I think is pretty cool. They also have pretty good french fries =p and a decent wine list. Overall — decent restaurant for the area. Prices, portions, service, flavors — if you are feeling lazy and want a neighborhood bite, this place is a good option.

Basically five stars ONLY for the spinach pappardelle with duck ragu appetizer pasta dish & lamb shank(worth the splurge for the lamb shank). The appetizer portion for the pasta is enough to be a meal… Pappardelle is a a great texture and the duck ragu has falling off the bone duck pieces with a creamy and satisfying ragu. I’ve ordered this one dish so many times from delivery and then got it again when I actually sat down at the restaurant. Lamb shank– I got it delivered. I’m not even ashamed because how amazing is it that I got it delivered and it was to die for? Everyone was jealous. Honestly. Everything else is mediocre. Just order those two dishes.
