Fabulous! We came here for a birthday and everything went incredibly well. I ordered the striped bass, and others ordered the risotto, a soup, and a seafood pasta dish. My fish was delicious and fell apart with a gently fork. My friend was absolutely entranced by her seafood pasta(tagliolino profumo di mare) — so delicious. All other dishes were equally yummy :) We also all had wine by the glass which were unique, tasty and reasonably priced. The service was very accommodating and came out with a lovely chocolate mousse with the birthday individuals name inscribed on the platter. Service was attentive enough to satisfy needs but not overbearing. The atmosphere was very comfortable. Although the restaurant was full it didn’t feel crowded, which is delightful in a restaurant this good in NYC. The music was present but not overpowering — upbeat and classy. The décor is okay, I appreciated the plants. Otherwise the paneling was pleasant but nothing notable. We were so happy to enjoy a leisurely, delicious, moderately-portioned meal in comfort in this small little gem.

This is where you want to eat — trust me. Yes, it is in a hotel but this is way above anything that you have had. Come down the street from Eataly and eat here instead We had eaten at Chef’s restaurant in Calabria a few years ago(literally stumbled across it) and it was fabulous. Basically there was no menu, he just used that days fresh ingredients from the local market. Capatosta is the extension of that experience we had in Calabria. Food was excellent, service attentive and good wine list

took my friend there for his birthday. we both love to try new places so we thought we’d give this place a shot. well we were not disappointed that is for sure. from the waitress recommended appetizers to the main dish. food was very fresh with a home cooked flare. will definitely go there again. i’m a bit of a foodie, so five stars for me is unusual but this place warrants it. i did not find it to be expensive. more of a $$½.

Not a big review guy, but just got back from dinner and it was fantastic. We had bruschetta and the fruitti de mare to start, which were both delicious and well done for standard appetizers. We shared two pastas(the ravioli and the pork sausage) which were clearly fresh and homemade, delicate and tons of flavor. Also the foaccia was probably the best I’ve ever had. Our waitress was nice, attentive, and very helpful with the menu. She also mentioned that they recently opened; this is a ‘must return’ especially before more people catch on.

This place is a hidden gem in this area! The food is prepared by Chef Antonio, who a 2 Star, Italian Chef, who brings Mediterranean food to the next level! Our bartender Edmond, was very knowledgeable & recommended a nice southern Italian wine, that paired very nicely with our main course; Pollo all’italiana. The entire meal was succulent & delectable. Dessert was even better! A lovely hand made cannoli, prepared table side; with my choice of topping! A very classy touch! If your in the area and hungry for a delicious meal and drink, at affordable prices; stop by this place!

I don’t expect much from a hotel restaurant — was I ever surprised — The food, starting w/their tomato appetizer was just amazing. The bread had layered flavors. The Bruschetta was amazing — I’m not a normally a fan of eggplant, but, wow, it was good. The pasta(made daily on premise) was again excellent with layered distinct flavors. Hard to understand why this gem of a restaurant wasn’t packed. Highly Recommended!

Great italian restaurant just discovered! Super elegant, chic, quiet and the service was attentive to every detail. I had Mozzarella in Carrozza and Candele with Octopus ragù and my friend Ravioli with Nduia and Caprino. The focaccia is delicious. All tastes suddenly brought us back home. Thank you Antonio, we will come back soon!
