Just used CL for first time here in LA and had a great experience. Much more affordable than rental houses and I like how much communication I had w the renter. Made it a lot easier, like borrowing from a buddy. Def recommend.

Fantastic service, helpful people. It’s a great way to support indie filmmakers and DPs in LA who have equipment they’re not using all the time.

I have to say that I was hesitant at first — looked like a good idea, but I knew that if it didn’t have the critical mass of lenders and borrowers, it wouldn’t work out well for anyone. Turns out my concern was not justified — I’ve loaned out gear to a number of folks in the area and it’s been great… I get a little extra cash, folks get to use stuff they couldn’t purchase, and I get to know other photographers while I’m at it.
Even better, the support is tremendous — like any new service, there have been a few little bugs along the way, but they’re ironing them out quickly AND their support (James) has been completely on top of things in terms of fixing stuff for me and getting back to me.
Couldn’t recommend them more highly!

Can’t say enough good things about this site. I can say with 100% certainty that I will use it again when I need to rent quality camera equipment.

Amazing site for renting gear. Needed a ronin in a pinch and found a reliable guy who let me rent from him for a couple days. No issues, perfectly working gear, etc. Fantastic customer service as well, James was very on top of things and his communication was spot on.

I’ve listed my gear on three different photography sites, but this is by far the best. The most requests, everything is handled professionally and I’ve had no problems with any of the rentals.

Got a great deal on a gh4 rental. The whole process was painless and far superior to the traditional rental house model.

Awesome for last minute gear rentals! Available in most major cities. Best part is for most equipment, you don’t need insurance (there is a damage waiver option available), unless it’s a RED camera. Also great for any other kind of rentals as well. A lot of lenders to choose from, and a great community of filmmakers and creatives helping each other out. Just make sure to make reservations with multiple lenders in case one is busy and can’t rent that equipment to you. Have had a smooth experience with the website and the lending community in LA and NY since joining 6 months ago.

Pretty much love this site. It makes getting payment for renting my equipment a breeze. The listing process is easy, and so is communicating with potential renters. I’ve made actual money renting gear that would otherwise just be sitting in my closet! Oh, and the support is terrific — their staff is super responsive and knowledgeable, able to answer any question I could throw at them.

Adam and James started something phenomenal for photographers and videographers, an AirBnB of cameras! CameraLends is truly a wonderful site for people who have down time with their gears to earn some easy extra money on the side.
I’ve started lending in November and these guys guided me every step of the way: from making sure I’m giving out the best prices for my gears to helping me replace lost ones. To keep this part short and simple, their customer service is BEYOND amazing.
Since I already brought it up, there is absolutely no worries or trouble about losing your gears or receiving it back damaged. CameraLends have an excellent insurance policy and will replace your gear overnight should anything happen. Thankfully, in my personal experience, I’ve only lost a charger and an SD Card and each were immediately replaced.

Fantastic vehicle to connect owners/​renters and people that need gear. It takes care of the biggest fear with renting gear: what if it gets damaged or stolen.
They provide insurance and, with that, piece of mind.
Very easy to use and communicate with others on the platform!
Little cumbersome checkout process and use on the phone but those are growing pains.
