It’s closed — and doesn’t look like they are re-opening. Sad because it provided a good community hang out place that wasn’t Dunkin’ Friggin’ Donuts.

Folks are right in saying that this place is tiny. It felt too tiny to me, and not like a place I would sit in for any amount of time. It’s great for grabbing a quick bite or drink. I wouldn’t recommend it to writers or freelancers looking to get work done, even with the free wireless.

Again, for those of you folk who live in Harlem and are looking for a little café to do some work, this is your place. Free wireless and typical bistro service. I agree with the last post– a tad pricey, and the food(sandwiches/wraps) didn’t look to special. Their rhubarb/raspberry tart is pretty amazing. I hear their waffles are quite wonderful as well… Since it is right at the entrance to the ABCD, perfect place to get some work done before work or meet a friend if you are heading downtown. I hear around the corner they are putting in a Starbucks? And the NYSC is there too… support local business and get to know those guys before they are gone!

The staff here is exceptionally friendly. The food is good, too. I like the homemade soups and muffins. It’s good for grabbing a quick snack or coffee on your way to or from the 145th St. train stop. However, it hasn’t become my morning coffee place because the coffee is too expensive for everyday. Their small coffee costs twice as much as every other place($ 1.50 versus 75 cents).

It is the only café in the general area of St. Nicholas above 145th and the owner does a great job of offering a varied selection of items, yet this business doesn’t stay busy all the time. Granted there isn’t enough space to just hang out but there are a few tables and it is a nice place to grab a cup of coffee and have a treat. The tarts and other pastries look great and she offers at least 3 different soups per day.

This little café is easy to miss and, were it not right by the enterance to the ABCD trains, I would have. I popped in yesterday for a cup of coffee before heading to the gym. The atmosphere is somewhat sparse and the coffee isn’t so cheap($ 1.50 for a small cup) but it is nice to have a café in the neighborhood and the baked goods looked good(croissants and cakes). They also sell sandwiches, teas, and sodas. A friend of mine who goes there often with his laptop says that they have free wireless too.

This recently opened coffee shop in Sugar Hill is a godsend. I had been watching to see what was going to go into this space very anxiously and was really excited to see that it would be a café, as that’s something the neighborhood was sorely lacking. Café Bön Jour is a very cozy bright place with a plethora of regular and flavored coffee drinks, homemade soups, and delicious pastries and cakes. They also do catering and birthday cakes to order.
