This place is great: I went for brunch and their menu wasn’t too expensive($ 6 – 15) and the service was nice and friendly. I ordered the steak sandwich($ 13) and it was so tender and juicy and seared just right. The coffee was great! And comes in a nice big cup. Definitely coming back here again.

I chanced upon this cozy Belgium bar on a freezing Monday morning and was immediately greeted with a warm, familial atmosphere. Great Belgium beers on tap including Chimay(my favorite). I had an onion soup which was delicious and the perfect balm for the frigid temperatures outside. The manager, Jeremie, who also bartends the day shifts, provided excellent service and was very friendly. I highly recommend this bar and will definitely be coming back.

This is a great Belgium pub. It is warm and cozy with great food. I am not a drinker but others love the selection of beer. I come here for the mussels. They make them with a variety of sauces. The mussels seem to be very popular, and there is a high turnover. They also have specials during the week. I would definitely recommend checking this place out. It is near Times Square and a great place to stop by.

This restaurant is the second BXL I’ve been to. I tried BXL Zoute last summer and had a positive experience, so I decided to try another BXL. I had mussels last time and came to BXL Café this time for brunch with three friends. Along with my French toast, I also ordered a side of fries because I knew they’d be amazing. As is typical at a Belgian restaurant, the fries were delicious. My French toast, however, was not as satisfying. I wanted more of a bread-y taste, but instead tasted too much egg. It tasted kind of weird and wasn’t very appetizing. If you decide to try a BXL, I would say definitely get the mussels and fries. They are delicious. Or try one of their breakfast sandwiches, which I hear are good too. Taste | 3 Atmosphere | 3 Presentation | 3 Service | 3.5 OVERALL | 3

This is a Belgian place which was recommended to me be by actual Belgians from Belgium. I’m not going to comment on the food as I’ve hardly tasted any of it, however, they have a selection of truly excellent Belgian beers. And they are where I’ve tasted quite possibly the best beer I’ve ever had or ever will have… La Chouffe.

Beth and I came here for my birthday dinner. We made reservations but the restaurant was still a bit packed and we had to wait. The tables are uncomfortably close to each other and the place was super loud. Beth ordered a couple of beers and she enjoyed it. My Shirley Temple is hard to mess up. Beth ordered the onion soup($ 8) and the mixed salad with goat cheese and honey($ 12). She has been here before and loved both dishes. The salad looked a bit plain the goat cheese and honey was beyond delicious. The warm cheese with a tad of honey melts in your mouth. It is incredibly sad that they only give 4 pieces, it was also the only reason Beth ordered the salad. I ordered the shrimp croquettes($ 16) which was quite small and mediocre for the price. I also got the pasta checca($ 14) which was the most unimpressive thing ever. It seems like almost anyone came make that at home. It tasted like boxed pasta with tomatoes, garlic, olive oil, black pepper and a bit of basil. Basically, something you can make at home when you have nothing else to eat. It could be the things I ordered but either way, this place left more to be desired.

Good beer. Great service. Poor food. Seats were so tight that servers had no choice but to bump into us. Food very blah. Uneven fries. Some cold, some hot. Calamari was rubbery. Mussels were ok.

I meet up with a girlfriend who says — I know a place! She drags us through Times Square to get to BXL Café. I love a good belgian beer, but I’d much rather go to BXL East, away from tourists and crowds! Despite that, the menu is pretty much the same — mussels, beer, frites, etc. We ordered the thai curry mussels(all skinny minnies!), that were bathing in the most amazing soup/sauce. The mussels also come with a large portion of fries that I barely touched as I prefer thick-cut fries. I ordered two Leffe Browns on tap, and my friend had Ommegang Witte and a margarita. The beers were great, margarita was terrible(that’s why you don’t order cocktails here).

Great convenient spot for lunch or dinner — friendly staff and they’ll make you want to return. Great assortment of Belg beer. Try the mussels. I also like the steak and the sandwich w the egg… Enjoy!

I stopped in here for a quick dinner before an event at the Town Hall Theater. They have an exceptional beer list. Their wine selections are a bit sparse, but those that they do have are excellent. I had the terrine maison and steak tartare, both of which were superb. It’s a nice place, small and quiet(at least when I was there).

Love this place as it is up the street from my work. It’s a bit tight so don’t try to come here with large groups, but good for a drink or two with a couple of coworkers or friends. I love their framboise beer(~$ 7 – 8) and snacks – their fries and bread are fantastic. The cheese plate isn’t worth it, and I have yet to try their moules frites or croquettes, but they look good – will be coming back to try them soon.

Today was my first visit to BXL for a business lunch. Upon walking in, expect the divey dark pub vibe. There is not much space inside so make a reservation if you’re dining with a large group. They do a nice job with muscles. To start, we tried the Marinières(white wine, shallot broth) and Grand Mère(cream, bacon and onions). Both had great flavor, but I am partial to the white wine. For lunch, I kept it simple with a Chicken Caesar Salad which was just ok. Others had the burger, french onion soup, and Croque Madame(which looked very interesting). All in all an OK lunch — but not anything special.

Sundays and Mondays is all you can eat Mussles. It’s 2 pounds of Mussles and frites(french fries) with their homemade mayo. $ 24 per person and a free Stella Artois. Amazing deal and food! Try it out!

My wife and I stopped for a bit to eat before the Tony Bennett, Lady GAGA show, which was amazing. Known for their all u can eat mussels and Belgium food has a twist of Italian in the menu. No res. Needed and quick service. The sausage was lean and tastie. Homemade and Harty makes this a must for not only show goers, or anyone wanting a good home cooked meal.

Great stop for a Belgian beer on draft and some Belgian fries. They have the best Belgian beer selection, and most importantly, they have Delirium Tremens on tap! Great place to stop by if you’re in Times Square and get thirsty or need to get a break from the crowd. We’ve been here twice and have never had to wait for a table, and the service is great.

Amazing little European feeling bar. I felt so comfortable and welcome, the drinks are very reasonably priced, especially with how close it is to Times Square. I would definitely come back.

I think I’ve been to every BXL location in NYC now. I just went to this location this past Saturday with a bunch of my friends for brunch and we all had a very pleasant experience here. I had my standard of the oeufs florentine, which was just as good as the ones I had at their other locations. I got to try out my friends’ dishes as well, which consisted of truffled mushroom toast(which was absolutely amazing) and banana pancakes(which were unlike any other pancakes I’ve ever had. They were almost like fluffy muffins or cakes that happened to be shaped somewhat like pancakes. Anyhow, those were also absolutely amazing). Just like at their other locations, portions were kind of large, so a decent of food was left behind by my friends. Filthy casuals, I’d say. If you happen to be in the mood for good Belgian food with a wide variety of beers to choose from, I’d definitely recommend this place. It’s quite a nice respite from the chaotic hustle of Times Square.

Serve Lambic? Oh heeeeeyy! What a good way to win a Megan over. There’s a variety of flavors, peach and raspberry are my favs. Not a fan of fruity tasting beer? No need to fret my pet, there are other great beer selections readily available. They also carry wine for the mellow yellows or liquor for the raging cajuns. On to the food. The menu mainly consist of your usual bar foods: wings, fries, sliders, etc. Apparently people come here for the muscles so if that’s your cup of tea, you should probably give it a go. The bar area is very crowded during happy hour, but there’s a seating area in the back. Great place to watch a game as there are TVs everywhere. Although it was slam packed and busy, the waiter was very attentive and served our orders promptly.

Great place to chill and catch up with friends. Unfortunately, I came here with my family, including my 10 year old sister. I love my family, but this is really not the place for a nice family meal. This is not why I’m giving the place 3 stars. I realize it’s not family friendly. I won’t ding them for that because it’s not like they advertise that they are. The place wasn’t too full when we arrived. It was about half full. It looked like there was only one waitress for the whole restaurant, which might be why the service was a bit iffy. My boyfriend and I arrived late. My family was there for about 15 minutes already(my mom decided not to tell me she was going to the restaurant early). They had a couple of appetizers while they waited for us: bruschetta and buffalo wings. They thought the bruschetta wasn’t bad, but not that fresh tasting either. They said the buffalo wings were pretty good though. My family and I ordered burgers, while my boyfriend ordered Spaghetti Carbonara. The burger was delicious. The bread was nice and crisp on the edges, but soft on the inside. The meat was cooked perfectly(I like it medium rare). Overall, very solid burger. There’s nothing too special about it though. Just the typical cheese, lettuce, tomatoes. But it is tasty. The fries though are a bit disappointing. They’re soggy and bland. I’m a huge french fry person, so this is quite disappointing. My boyfriend liked his spaghetti carbonara, but I thought it was too watery and not thick enough. Overall, they have great burgers and wings, but their fries and service are eh. Good place to hang out and chill with friends.

I don’t mind spending $ 10 for a 12oz glass of fine Belgium beer, however it would be nice if the bartender filled it to the top and did not leave half the glass with foam. This was very disappointing. Although I didn’t eat, the menu looked fantastic; especially the 2lb pots of steamed mussels which are made five different ways. The one that seemed most enticing was the Coconut milk, lemon grass and curry. My only other concern about this place is that it had a sour smell, like there was too much old beer spilled on the floor. It’s the same smell you usually encounter in dive bars when the whole place is consumed with that musty, old beer, broken toilet odor.

We’ve been here a few times and tried most of the menu items. I prefer the steak tartar and the mussels with curry. The wife likes the meatloaf. Great selection of beers with an obvious Belgian slant. Prices are reasonable. Can get crowded and the tables are quite close together. Service is acceptable but they do frequently run out of items which can be irritating.

I stopped in here with a couple friends back in July and we were very pleasantly surprised! We love Belgian restaurants, so we came in for brunch and we loved our food. I had fantastic French toast and their house ale was very, very good. I’m a huge fan of Brewery Ommegang and I was really excited that they brew a beer just for this small chain of cafes. This place was great(despite being near Times Square) and I would definitely come in here again!

Wer Belgisches Ambiente in New York sucht, ist hier richtig!
