Call your order in ahead of time, to avoid the wait. Hidden gem.

I’m with 2 friends. They were rude at the burger store. We waited a lot of time for the burger. It came cold. One of my friend had to cancel his order because of waiting half an hour and they didn’t find the order they lost or gave it to other costumer. We complaint to the manger. but he didn’t care. From all the burgers in NYC. This is the worse I had. Bad bad service.

Pretty solid sirloin burger, and you can dine outside! Great for when the weather’s warm and breezy.

This hidden gem is hidden all the way in the back on the right side in the alley between the buildings. Its a solid lunch spot, but do call ahead as waiting can be about 30 minutes unless its a nice summer day and you don’t mind just hanging out waiting for the food. The burgers are excellent as you can see from the photos, and the prices are very reasonable. They also serve breakfast that’s just a delight. If you haven’t tried it yet, what are you waiting for?

Wow wow wow wow wow — and one more for good luck — wow. So came in to work one Friday and was def v hung and looking for something delicious to eat. Happy for me that I work pretty close to this location and also happy for me that I have a well connected friend who knows all the best v-hung-breakfast-spots in midtown. This place is located right next to bobby vans steak house and has a ton of takeout options with a pretty extensive breakfast menu. The must have breakfast from here is the steak, egg and cheese sandwich. I’m a pretty tiny person, so when I brought that baby back to the office no one thought I could finish it. Being the competitive person that I am, I obviously finished it, but I was also in a food coma and did not ingest another morsel until Saturday morning. Definitely worth the food coma though because it was pretty amazing. You definitely get a good bang for your buck here as well. The steak egg and cheese was $ 6 but it is certainly enough for two people(unless you’re a smelly boy and in that case maybe get your own). They have regular breakfast sandwiches for pretty normal midtown prices as well and they looked baller as well so that’s a good option as well. So basically if you’re looking to only spend $ 6 for a 2,000 calorie, delicious sandwich this is the place for you. Ladies — we are officially in hibernation season in Manhattan so treat yo self while you can. You’ll have plenty of time to panic in March to panic and get ready for #beachseason2016

Stumbled upon bvs burgers! It’s in a quiet laneway off time square which is a perfect escape from the press of people. Burgers are juicy and fresh, with fresh salad and plenty of sauce and cheese. They even ask how you’d like your patty cooked. Sweet potato fries were great too.

Great bang for your money in Midtown. It’s in the back/side entrance of the building adjacent to Bobby Van’s and it’s a gem. Advice is to, place the order through seamless or phone call, just call them say 15 minutes before arrival with your request and pick it up when you arrive. I think 7 bucks for a burger, 7.50 for cheeseburger, and 4 bucks for fries and other. Beats waiting in line and better quality at a lower price than any other thing you might find in Midtown/Times Square-area.

Let me start by saying Bobby Vans restaurant(not this listing, but the fine dining spot in front) is a personal favorite; but this place I can live without. Have come a few times with colleagues since its across the street from my office, and each time I tend to regret it. Food has good flavor, but in my opinion is overpriced for what you get. I’ve had the burger and more recently the spicy chicken sandwich and have not been impressed either time.(Their bread sucks) They are always busy, and the staff is very pleasant but during my recent visit we waited a while and they totally lost my colleagues order.(They offered us a free can of soda which was very nice…) Bottom line: there are plenty of better(and more affordable) places in midtown for a quick bite.

Medium burger came out well done. I think it’s when they out the cheese on and stuffed it in the broiler that it went from(possibly) medium to well done The burger patty is thick but much smaller in circumference than the bun, there was lots of bun left after the meat was long gone. The bun fell apart because of the soggy ketchup and other toppings. I think I like the idea of the place more than the place itself. The fries were average too. Meehhhhhh

I’ve gone back a couple times now because the burgers are so damn good, when having mediocre burgers from other places(I was at Shake Shack the other day and realized people are just impressed by the buttered buns and sauce, but the burger itself is lousy), I end up thinking about how pathetic those other burgers are after having experienced BV’s Burgers! Pros: –this burger will seriously become the gold standard in your mind –it’s filling –not greasy(like Paul’s Da Burger Joint which was my previous fav) –the pickles are great(fresh, not salty) –great price Cons –only open during lunch hours on weekdays, so I can’t share this religious experience with my friends when we’re hanging out on weekends –the burgers are classic style; no creative sauces like Shake Shack, Umami Burger, Black Iron Burger, etc –the patty is salted generously, but I imagine you can tell them when ordering to keep it down –be prepared to wait 15 – 20 minutes after ordering(call ahead!) I recommend the blue cheese for the cheeseburger.

The service at this place is awful. It’s a burger takeout shop in the back of Bobby Vans. It should no take over 30 minutes to get a burger and fries when you have what it seems like more people than necessary. Staff has no concern over a customer’s wait.

TOPBURGERINNYCUNDER $ 10 The first time I came here, I could have sworn that this was THE best tasting burger meat I’ve ever had. However, after coming here a few more times, I’m now pretty sure it was because they put more salt than usual on the meat and it tasted SO good. They haven’t been able to recreate the taste since, but they’re still awesome burgers and definitely the top pick for under $ 10. BOTTOMLINE: ASKFOREXTRASALTONTHEPATTY! I wish this place had more exposure. This place is probably unknown because its completely hidden and you need to go outside and around the back of Bobby Vans Steakhouse to find this little burger joint with a totally separate entrance. The first time i went I got Cheeseburger platter with Cajun fries and onion rings($ 13 combo). The burgers are all thick ½lb patties made from sirloin and start at $ 7.50 + tax Burgers are juicy, well seasoned, massive, and delicious. I was pretty surprised. Only downside I can see is theres so much juice the bun has a habit of breaking. For an extra $ 4 you can get a large portion of fries or onion rings. 50c extra for Cajun Fries — they taste identical to what Five Guys gives ya. Pretty good. Onion rings were REAL good. Nice and salty, and only lightly breaded. Definitely try these. Some of the best onions rings I’ve ever had. If you’re a a steak lover, the steak sandwich($ 11) is topped with a TON of delicious slightly sweet marinated steak with no fillers. Your sandwich is literally overflowing with steak strips. Really great taste and a good bargain. Based on the reviews, it seems like the burgers at their actual steakhouse next door is completely inferior to this little shack and they charge $ 17 for a burger platter there vs $ 13 at this place. After going to all the top«best burger» competitors, this one is still the #1 burger to beat for the price. UPDATE: Have also gone here for breakfast(served from 8 to 11am). Lets just say its not their strong suit. If you want the best they offer, I’d go for egg/sausage/cheese on a roll(about $ 3.75). Stay away from the bagels — they are the real low quality pre-packaged tasting ones you might get from the supermarket. The steak and egg sandwich($ 7) was also large but took wayy too long to make and was a bit bland without loading it up with ketchup and salt. The prices are good and breakfast sandwiches are definitely big, but you REALLY need to add salt, pepper, and ketchup to make them shine. === Looking for the best burgers in NYC? BV’s Burger is a Times Square hidden gem. Pocketed in a building adjacent to the Bobby Van’s restaurant is the very small Bobby Van’s Burger joint serving a good number of dishes perfect for breakfast or lunch. They also provide a nice outdoor seating area, away from the street. I never see this area too full. There is always a table and seat to grab. This might be one of my favorite lunch spots at the moment. Because it’s inconspicuous, there are never lines. The pricing is also relatively cheap for what you can get, especially compared to mediocre but overpriced delis around here. At some point, I’ll have to try their burgers. Believe it or not, burgers are not the only thing being served. I can speak for the semi-healthier options. For one, their salads are absolutely worth it. You get a pretty good portion, and they offer the dressing and cheese on the side, and plenty of it. The Mixed Green Salad($ 5) is always a great choice. The french fries and sweet potato fries are also tasty, but I personally prefer the sweet potato fries. The soups are just okay. Had their Seafood Chowder, and it actually tasted a bit bland. The Beef Barley soup is definitely a better choice. I want to check out the breakfast menu here as I am betting it is much better than say Starbucks or Europa. BV is not overpriced at all for what you can get. Don’t just settle for that overpriced café or deli on the corner. I recommend this spot for anyone who works around here.

Ive been consistently disappointed here which is a shame given its large following and substantial reviews. My review is centric to two items: buff chicken and turkey burger– yes alts to the standard steak which was not available on one occasion. Both were mediocre and lacked the type of flavor a highly reputable place should have. On top of this the ordering process deserves a 50% premium on time estimated by staff. Sad. Disappointed

Well, to cut to the chase, the burgers here are fantastic. I always order my cheeseburger medium rare, and I always get it pretty close to perfect. The toppings are fresh and compliment the burger well. The quality of the meat is top-notch. That said, the fries leave something to be desired. You do get a huge amount, but they aren’t very flavorful. I would recommend getting the burger and skipping the fries.(People seem to love their onion rings, but I don’t like those in general, so I can’t offer an opinion.)

Gave it 4 stars due to the half hour wait for a steak sandwich. Went there right before rush hour. Other than that the food was great. The steak sandwich was juicy and flavorful. Also tried the cajun fries they were also very good and freshly made.

If they have the Salmon Burger, get it. Not something I would generally order but it is fantastic here. The standard burgers are also pretty good and though prices went up a bit recently it is still a great deal. Do order your burger less done than you actually want because after they wrap in the foil it keeps cooking. Medium will be well done. Also good here are the chicken parm sandwich, steak sandwich, BBQ quesadilla and some of the salads. It is all steakhouse quality food so you almost can’t go wrong for the price. Any review that mentions wait staff is talking about the wrong place. This is takeout only. The dude behind the register is very friendly and efficient. Overall a hidden gem as others have said. Call ahead if you don’t want to wait at lunchtime.

I mean it’s straight up good right? But what the hell is up with all the uppity youngens?! I am a tatted and modified chick so being looked at like the f*cking plague is not always pleasant. Hah! Ya, I get it, it’s Midtown, you maybe pretentious but my wallet may just be as big as yours. Just sayin’. Ok let me put all my anti-yuppie jokes and digs to myself. The staff is kind, attentive, the take-out counter is great and next to a beautiful courtyard you can grub in, burgers are bangin’. That’s it, that’s all I have to say. When you’re craving some pressed meat… you know the spot. Leave your«American Psycho» appearance at home. Whoops! Rating: 2 soft yet content nipples on this one.

This review is for BV Burger, Bobby Van’s take-out joint, not to be confused with the actual restaurant(there seem to be a few reviews here for the actual restaurant itself.) I discovered BV’s burger through Midtown lunch and I was quite excited. I, a laywoman, can enjoy fancy schmancy Bobby Van’s for under $ 10?! Yes, please! I’ve only ordered the half pound sirloin cheese burger, since I think it’s the only thing worth ordering(why would you get a sandwich or eggs on a roll at a steakhouse?) Just like the other reviews, an order for a medium burger can vary– the cooks might hit the spot, or over cook it. But for $ 7, the overall quality is a notch up from Burger King or Wendy’s. And you have a choice of what cheese you’d like! They offer sweet potato fries, my favorite, but by the time I get to my office a few blocks away, they’re already soggy. Since the fries never transfer well, I don’t order them anymore. But then again, the burger is so filling that I don’t need fries. So win-win! This place does get busy by noon, so if you’re pressed on time I recommend going there before 11:45.
