When one is paying $ 6 for a huge plate of nachos with cheese overflowing, one has to keep expectations in check. This isn’t fine dining, but they do what they’re supposed to do really well, and for that, this place deserves kudos. One of the best places cheap and unhealthily(and yummy) Mexican in downtown NYC

Just ordered delivery from seamless. The food was a mess, I don’t think the delivery guy dropped it, it looked like it was literally thrown together super quick. Wasn’t super tasty. Delivery guy tried to get more money out of me even though I paid and tipped thru seamless, and didn’t really speak English. I won’t be ordering from here again. Just was a mess.

Waited over an hour(supposed to be 30 – 45 min) for soggy tacos. They’re actually quite consistent with this, I’ll give em that.

Terrible, terrible, terrible. The food is so bland. It’s absolutely not Mexican food. The guacamole has the consistency of bird diarrhea. How do you mess up something so simple? Anyway, today, I ordered nachos from them through seamless. I said that I wanted no beans, but I guess the page must have refreshed or something because the instruction didn’t go through. When I called to say I didn’t want beans, the lady started YELLING at me before I could even finish my sentence! Then, she put another man on the phone and he yelled at me. Needless to say, I didn’t get my nachos. Not that the burnt steak they put on them would have tasted good anyway. So, don’t order from them. If you want real, delicious Mexican food, try El Luchador instead. I would eat that everyday over this garbage.

Do not eat here for any reason. This is not Mexican food. It even smells like Chinese food before you even see what it looks like. They don’t understand what an enchilada is and keep trying to convince me that their quesadillas are enchiladas. The guacamole looks like jaundice. The hot sauce he’s like a diluted version of Tabasco. The lettuce is white the rice has no flavor. And the tacos fell apart because the meats were so greasy. Not true for the chicken tacos the chicken was so dry you can barely chew it

The worst mexican food i have ever had and not super cheap either. I know nyc is not known for its mexican food, but this was beyond. Dont believe the stars on seamless.

Burrito House aka Burrito Mariachi is not quite in the same league as Taco House, that is almost across the street. But when you can deliver cheap Mexican fare during a blizzard, when most restaurants choose to shut down, you deserve bonus points. The menu is almost identical to that of most Asian-run, Mexican-serving restaurants in the city – Fresco Tortilla and Taco House, to name a couple of them. I am almost prompted to say«bean there, done that!». I would recommend the tostada salad, the quesadillas, and the nachos. The delivery speed, which is quite remarkable even in the most inclement weather, ensures that the food is warm even if not fresh. Never mind that the tacos lack a crispy exterior, and the sides look tired most of the time. Call Burrito House when you are in dire need of cheap Mexican in a hurry. But try your newly-acquired Spanish skills elsewhere, after you have saved $$$$ by getting deliveries from here.

WARNING: Trust Unilocal — and DON’T be duped by the Seamless«5 star rating» for Burrito House. This place is truly awful. The food has no flavor, it is completely bland. And it’s not actually Mexican food — broccoli in a burrito? Also, the same chicken burrito was filled with cheddar cheese, more cheese than all the rice and beans combined. The guac was also inedible. I would describe it as some sort of fake avocado-relish. And delivery takes forever. The only upside? Large portions. But our office threw most of it in the garbage.

I ordered a standard chicken burrito in hopes to try another Mexican restaurant as there are so many in Manhattan. I regretted this decision immediately upon unwrapping the tin foil — an experience I normally really look forward to while consuming Mexican cuisine. My burrito was a taco. It was poorly crafted and clearly had never been wrapped up whole at any point in the process. They put all the ingredients in and it got delivered promptly, so at least that part was acceptable. Overall just not the experience I had hoped for.

I’m not one to one star, but it’s necessary. The order from seamless took 2x the estimated time, which is fine. I called and the lady was upset that I had called. That’s fine. Food finally came. The nachos were good, but didn’t hold up too well in delivery. I assume that they had been on the bike for a while. The quesadilla was WEIRD. The tortilla was more like a pita bread. It was two tortillas with the stuffing falling all over the place. The Fajitas tasted ASIAN. The Chimichangas tasted ASIAN. Nothing racist, but when the lady picking up the phone is Asian, the delivery guy is Asian, and the food should still be Mexican. The rice was completely just Asian white rice with some tomato paste and the weirdest cheese(and I’m even fine with cheese in a can at this point), and that was«mexican rice». Overall it’s nothing you couldn’t whip up at home if you were stoned, didn’t know how to cook, and knew nothing about Mexican food. Wasn’t looking for an authentic experience, but if I was a drunk and didn’t eat it, thats saying a lot. I’ll eat almost anything, street meat included.

I’m relatively satisfied with the items I’ve tried, but really cannot see myself ever ordering from Burrito House again. Steak Nachos(my favorite food group), while gigantic and overflowing with cheddar cheese, was otherwise bland and flavorless. Chicken Burrito, while gigantic and overflowing with grilled meat, was otherwise bland and flavorless. Nothing feels fresh, and there are so many other better options around.

Food arrived ICECOLD. The delivery guy rode up on a bike with my meal just hanging off the handlebars in a plastic bag on a cold, spring day. An insulated bag is such an inexpensive investment to make sure your customers’ food arrives at least WARM. It also took almost an hour to arrive — for 3 tacos.

$ 5 minimum delivery fee and a section of the menu dedicated to ‘little snacks’? You’re a fool to not order from here when times are tough financially and emotionally. I’d gladly share fajitas by the pound with any y’all!

I’m not sure what I just ate. It was a «chicken enchilada» but I don’t know, I just don’t know. What’s Spanish for multicolored colored mush + cheese because I think that would be more appropriate. Note: I too was duped by the Seamless reviews. However, delivery was prompt! Yay?

Ordered food last night from this place. Was thoroughly unimpressed with both the quality of the food and the timeliness of the delivery. We ordered at 8:15 with an expected wait time of 15 — 30 minutes. The food finally came at 9:30. It was cold and tasteless. I do not anticipate ordering from here agaain

The food here is a hit or miss and I have to say, 3 visits, 3 misses, and«I’m out.»! The first time the food was cold; the second time is was watery; the last time, it was simply boring. What is sad about this place it that it is managed and owned by 100% Mexicans; you would think that it would have the«home cook» feel; some semblance of authenticity. But, «mucho sorri,»(Spanglish– give me a break!), «aqui no!.» Oh, how I yearn for Lupita’s Food Truck!!!

This place was rated higher on seamless web than on Unilocal,so gave it a shot for dinner. I got the chicken plate which consists of grilled chicken, black beans, and rice with lettuce and tomatoes. I also added on grilled peppers and onions. It comes with 2 tortillas and a side of sour cream and salsa(these are really small, so next time I’ll order a few extra). My order came within probably 20 minutes, was warm, and tasted good. What could be wrong with that?

What you see is what you get — if you like cheap Mex with 15 minute delivery, this place is on point. The nachos and guacamole are great here. I’ve had every type of taco and salad, and never been disappointed.

I have a new favorite for Tex-Mex downtown! This area is loaded with Tex-Mex houses. Today my adventure brings me to the Burrito House on Church Street. Burrito House is tucked away in a row of stores just south of Duane Street. First off, like all the other Tex-Mex locations in this part of town you get no heat. Bring a jacket if you plan on sitting to have lunch. I don’t get it but it must hurt the bottom line. I really like the selection here. They go beyond the usual Tex-Mex menu choices(tacos, nachos, burritos,…) and have added Mexican Pizza, Little Snacks(small soft shell tacos), and enchiladas(for when I really want to go overboard). They also have a selection of «Taco Locals» which looked pretty interesting. Unfortunately the menu board was a little confusing so your best bet for ordering is from a paper menu on the counter. Today I had the Jack Cheese & Chick Quesadilla($ 3.69). It’s an 8-inch tortilla like all the others in the neighborhood but here they really stuff it fill of chicken and cheese. It’s a handful. Love it! I also like that they give you salsa AND sour cream for the quesadilla. Other places don’t do that. Another big plus for me is that most dishes are available in regular or «big». That appeals to my hungry side when I walk in starving. I’ve also been eyeing the Quesadilla Gigante($ 7.29) for the next trip when I walk in really hungry. Unlike other Tex-Mex restaurants in the area this place is strictly Tex-Mex. Other restaurants in the area have now grown to be Tex-Mex/Chinese so you can have Chicken Chow Mein with your Burritos. Not impressed, Burrito House only does Tex-Mex and they do it right. Another big plus for me is that giant«A» plastered in the front window from the NYD Department of Health. Two solid thumbs up from me. I’ll be back to explore the menu further. Stop by if you’re in the area, it’s a worthwhile visit.
