Excellent waiter service. My boyfriend got turkey burger sliders and they were good. I’m a vegetarian so I can’t eat much from their menu. We only came there for a spur of the moment fishbowl run. Their fishbowl tasted different from the other brother jimmy’s that we’ve been too, but that could be because we haven’t gone to one in about a year, so the whole formula for all locations may have changed. It was still tasty though. Usually we would sober up after 5 minutes of leaving the place, but this fishbowl had a bit more kick so that was welcomed. They had the utensils in cute mason jars. Will be coming back. They definitely need more vegetarian friendly dishes. So that I can actually eat here. There are plenty of BBQ recipes that are vegetarian friendly.

At some point in your life you’ll end up at Brother Jimmy’s. This is an especially popular bar with the college crowd and the young professionals. Drinks are comparable with all the other bars in the city, but the locations themselves are usually bigger than most venues and they include old school game machines. Basically, it’s a more drink-centric Barcade. I’ve been here several times and the service is a hit or miss depending on crowd and whoever is behind the bar that night. There’s plenty of people so if you’re new to the city this is always a good spot to start our your new adventures. Atmosphere is nothing fancy but guarantees a fun time.

It’s exactly what you think it’ll be like. It’s quick and easy and fine. Nothing great but not bad either. I won’t be rushing back, but if I’m stuck and in a hurry, I wouldn’t avoid it. The service was friendly and quick.

Monday nights — all you can eat wings/rib tips/domestic beer for $ 20 = GREAT. Service was friendly and food came out relatively quickly. Wings were big and delicious.

Great food and sports bar atmosphere. Service is horrible. Would be a 5 if I didn’t have to shoot up a flare to get the waitress to check on our drinks or if we needed anything. Beginning to think this is just a NYC thing.

Had a pork wrap for lunch. While the meat was not super dry, there was way too much coleslaw as well as some pickles that were in the wrap so it feel apart. Good size for the price. In terms of the sauces, the original is OK albeit watery, the carolina one is vinegary but not much backbone and the pepper one was terrible being entirely one note with some generic Q in the background. I gave a 20 and got 9 back, though it cost 10.50. Oh well. The atmosphere was well, frat-ish. I wouldn’t go back

Brother Jimmy’s BBQ, the one on the NE corner of Lex and 31st, is the unofficial-official Miami Hurricanes Sports Bar! Nuff said! This is one of my favorite sports bars in the city! The Miami game day experience here is awesome and usually extremely packed! On any given cold, perhaps even dreary, Saturday afternoon, this place is live. Like I said, nothing else really matters. …however, the beer prices are pretty good. Service is good and friendly. The Nachos are ridiculously enormous, more like a trough, and perfectly sized for game day. And you get a discount with out of state id. #Miami#Hurricanes#TheU

Overall a great restaurant! Kid friendly and the Hush puppies are a good appetizer. Fantastic mashed potatoes! Also I would highly recommend the barbecue wings. Another great feature is that if you buy more than 10 $ of food, kids under 12 eat FREE. The buffalo chicken sandwich — huge breast, and perfectly cooked. We ordered the banana pudding and chocolate brownie for dessert and both were hits. I would definitely recommend this place!

Everyones ratings are pretty tough here. Guys, take it with a grain of salt — we’re rating Brother Jmimmy’s, not Daniel. I’m not a bbq person but you can find me here on many Thursday nights. The place is always packed with recent college grads and former fratstars who can appreciate a decent $ 3 marg. Just don’t be an idiot and get kicked out but hey, it’s happens to the best of it.

I would love to come back here with a group of friends for dinner. I came here on a Saturday night for a couple drinks and felt like I was back in college… Beer pong set up and girls vomiting in the restroom. Most of the bathroom stalls didn’t even have toilet paper. It’s very noisy, so I definitely wouldn’t come here on a date, but perhaps I’ll try again with friends. I will also be coming back on Southern Appreciation night on Wednesday! :)

Went here for happy hour tonight and love the $ 3 margaritas but I sat down with my drink after having a few sips and looked down and there was a dirty bottle cap in the drink. Absolutely gross. I brought it back to the bartender and all she said was sorry and made me a new marg. Not sure how I feel about coming back here… Update a few hours later: they randomly brought a giant fishbowl to our table on the house. If I’m alive at the end then I will forgive brother jimmys!

Come out here for lunch every now and then; this place is very much a hit or miss. The rate-limiting-factor is the servers. They really make or break your experience at this restaurant. There have been a number of occasions when our food was sitting in the basement kitchen and we had to remind our server to check on the food. Other than the service, the food is quite good. They have a decent lunch special, as well as one that includes a beer.

Ordered ribs & pulled pork. The ribs were average, a bit fatty. The pulled pork was bland and lacked that smoky taste. It just doesn’t come up to par with other BBQ places in the city. I wouldn’t bother returning here.

At the time of eating here I thought our meal was ok — but then after visiting Mighty Quinn’s and the amazing Dinosaur Bar-B-Que, looking back, Brother Jimmy’s just couldn’t score higher than a two as I’ve experienced much MUCH better. Service was friendly it has to be said, though we waited quite a while for our food in an almost deserted restaurant on a Friday afternoon. My friend ordered a side of hush puppies but out came a plate of cornbread(I’m sorry American cousins, I just can’t learn to love it). Portions were generous but my pulled pork sandwich needed lashings of BBQ sauce to give it some flavour. Convenient for a feed if you’re on Lexington, but I wouldn’t recommend here for genuine BBQ goodness I’m afraid.

Wow. This food is hardly mediocre. I’m going to skip the narrative and get straight to the point on this review. 1. Ordered my burger medium, it was well done. Minus 1 star 2. No seasoning, this goes for the burger & Cole slaw I don’t think they have a salt or pepper shaker In the kitchen. Minus 1 star 3. The onion straws in my BBQ burger were stale like they were fried 3 hours before my burger was cooked. Minus 1 star Aside from the food that was maybe mediocre? Every table except the one I sat as was given a caddy with ketchup and BBQ sauce. I had to steal chipotle bbq sauce(which was delicious) from another table just to add some flavor to the lackluster food. I also ordered a shot of patron which never arrived to our table. In Conclusion: I think Brother Jimmy’s is a corporate chain(think Applebee’s, Buffalo Wild Wings) trying to masquerade as southern country BBQ joint. I call fail here. If you’ve had mighty Quins or Hill country BBQ you would laugh at the food here.

This place is all hype. I think it’s because everybody likes coming here for the monster sized cocktails and after work binge drinking? But if your a fan of BBQ(see my Dinosaur BBQ review) don’t waste your time. Food is below average and not even a great selection? Simply put… «lackluster»(such a great word) Not a great place to eat. PS. It was my Birthday dinner too, had fun, just didn’t eat.

This is a for a review of the bar at night on a weekend. If you want to hang out with trashy drunk kids, this is the place to be. I walked in here trying to find a friend when a drunk guy stopped me to try to talk to me. I finally escaped. Phew. Some girl came by and bought everyone shots and walked away without paying. Seriously? And she didn’t even drink the shot. Very weird. Thank goodness I didn’t get stuck with her bill. I mean its Murray Hill, what do you expect? Pass me my Black Card, I’m going elsewhere.

There is nothing redeeming about the food at this restaurant — my meal was awful. I ordered the Country Fried Steak with Gravy. I was excited to have this meal, but my steak came out BURNT, and the bottom of the meat was completely black. I could barely chew the meat. and the gravy was cold and not seasoned. I also ordered sides of mashed potatoes and mac and cheese. Those are usually safe picks right? Not at Brother Jimmy’s. The mashed potatoes were completely cold and tasted like card board with mushy chunks. I don’t know how it is humanely possible to mess up mashed potatoes. Service was also slow and they never checked to refill our drinks until they came out with the bill — we desperately asked for the check because we wanted to leave ASAP. Definitely one of the worst meals I’ve ever had. Server also ignored our complaint about the food. Bad food, bad service and expensive. Never coming back again.

Brother Jimmy’s has a great set up, unfortunately this location is usually overrun with those overly pumped up drunk frat boys. It’s a pity I used to come here in college and it was awesome but now I see creepy 40 year old execs running around. They do have some games downstairs and have a great amount of TV’s. If you go during a game night, definitely get a table. I was there for the Jets game and the Ranger game. It was packed!

Everybody talks about the wings and the infamous fish bowl here at Brother Jimmy’s, both of which I didn’t try. I came here to grab lunch with my best friend before we began our thrifting adventure. There was a decent lunch special. I ordered the BLFGT(Bacon, Lettuce and Fried Green Tomatoes). The sandwich had no mayo so it was way too dry. The waitress was no where to be found to ask for some. She was the only waitress working the floor during a fairly busy lunch hour, which explains why I received sweet potatoes fries as a side when I asked for mac and cheese. Clearly, they need more staff. But any who, I tried my sandwhich with BBQ sauce to add moisture. That was gross, so sipped my hard cider after every bite. On top of that, the fried green tomatoes were extremely bland. But the worse part of this BLFGT was that it had too much lettuce and very little bacon. Seriously, where was that bacon? I’m afraid to try anything else here. If you can screw up one of the simplest sandwiches in the world, what should I expect?

Coole, unkomplizierte und zugleich rustikale Location(Western Style) inmitten Midtown, New York.
