The hostesses were terrible, told us a few minutes to be seated 30 minutes later we asked how much longer and were told 15 min. Explained we were told a few min a half hour ago and response was well do you want to leave? Ended up being sat at one big table with random people, which was fine at that point! Food was just okay!

My sons liked this chain as kids on our visits to Manhattan and I’ve been to a few locations, happy to go back, no complaints. But last night was exemplary. We didn’t have time for our original plans before the Knicks game. With a little over an hour to tip off, my oldest, now 24, and I were served a kick ass meal: fried chicken, collard greens, brussel sprouts, mac and cheese, and corn bread — each dish so excellent we insisted the other try it. Wait staff was terrific. Fun energy with which to start a night at MSG.

This place is absolutely great when it comes to southern food! The hot wings are my favorite and I pair that off with a Stella from the bar! They are decently priced. The waitresses are very friendly and have that ‘southern hospitality’. Drinks are a little pricey but it’s worth it when you’re just having dinner and spending time with your friends. It’s about quality not quantity and there is definitely a lot of quality in their food and in their hostessing.

A few friends and I were out for some drinks. One friend kept raving about the fishbowls here that she had a long time ago. So we went. We were greeted immediately by a hostess who said to sit at the bar except there wasn’t enough room. We decided to get some appetizers and get a table instead. She said we still had to tell the bartender. It was no problem. We made a decision and go to the bar with our order. There were 3 or so girls back there taking shots who we tried to order with. They told us we have to wait for the bartender. Seemed like they were working right behind where they put the orders into the system. We sat at our table and ended up walking out after 5 – 10 minutes when the bartender still hadn’t returned. Maybe the food is good. We’ll never know. It’s horrible to leave a planned place thirsty and hungry due to lazy service.

Came back again before the PBR event at MSG. Seated right away, service was great, and food was even better! If you are looking for a fun drink to share, go for the 64oz swamp water it comes in a fishbowl with tons of straws and a gator too! Definitely fun :)! Frickles never disappoint, if you like fried pickles they are a must have! I went with the northern ribs this time around and they were meaty and fantastic. Mashed and gravy was a great side creamy and satisfying, green beans were really awesome too! A bit salty but not too much salt — definitely worth ordering! My friend had the pulled pork she loved it, and potato salad– which was one of the best potato salads I’ve had in awhile! Definitely a must order the potato salad and green beans as your sides! Will be doing that next time around! Enjoy it! get here early for an event night — it was crowded. But for a table of 2 it was easy to sit us down in a few minutes.

I know it’s not authentic barbeque but it’s the best I had in New York so far(besides my own). My son and I really Enjoy dining here. Such an incredible staff and great food. Right near Penn Station. The interior has a little bit of everything as far as décor. I love this place.

Very disappointed today. Been coming every Monday lately for the 20 dollar wings and ribs and we show up they say that it is not happening. At least let us know ahead of time. Very upset.

The bartenders are okay. I just feel like after a $ 300 tab I should get some buy-backs. Idk… Maybe that’s asking too much of this skanky ass bar

Stopped in before a show at MSG for a quick beer and was not terribly impressed. However, to be fair, we did not eat anything and were there for all of 25 minutes. The beer options were very standard, nothing special. I wound up ordering an Angry Orchard because none of the tap beer options were exciting at all. My drink was barely cold, and my friend who ordered a glass of wine found it to be so disappointing that she didn’t even drink half of it. The place was packed at the time, and getting served at the bar was more difficult than it should have been. However, Brother Jimmy’s has location on its side. Right across the street from MSG, it is ideal if you need a quick stop before a show or sporting event. I would definitely try it again and will happily update this review if I have a better experience.

Came here to get beers with a friend a few days ago — definitely good value for $$! We came to check out the $ 20 Monday night deal, which is TOTALLY worth it! Only downside is that you will be relegated to drinking Coors Light. :) The wings and ribs that came with the deal were pretty decent. I will definitely consider coming back for a meal. If you’re looking for beer and wings on a Monday night, however, I will stand by Brother Jimmy’s!

This restaurant is much bigger than it looks, whoever decided to put a restaurant here is smart. It’s perfect location to make money from tourists from MSG and Penn Station. That’s how I ended up here. Inside seems very laid back, wooden finishes. There is an upstairs, which is where we sat. Our waitress was friendly, the food came quickly for a Sunday evening. So the taste: it looked good, but really there was nothing too great about it. It was very plain. We just ate our meals and left, no drinks. Surprisingly, the price wasnt too bad for where it’s at. But even still, the taste of the food I wouldnt try it a second time around.

This place has great bbq. Very large menu, very kid friendly. Can do large groups. Portions are large. This location is right across from the garden on 7th Ave side. Also liked their location on 16th street in union square

***Only had wings and beer* Wings here are pretty solid. Pitchers of beer were cheap but watery. Can’t say much for the bbq bc I didn’t have any. The service wasn’t very friendly. They have a monday night special of all you can eat wings, rib tips, and beer for $ 19.99, except for when a Rangers game is on. One should post that on their website or something.

It’s been a while since I’d been back here came in this past week. We tried to get table but couldn’t because we were waiting for someone & couldn’t be seated till our full party arrived, Really? Makes sense but at the same time not like the person wasn’t going to come in the time we waited the table was given to someone else, space opened up at the bar so we just sat there. Drinks I first tried the Palmetto Punch good taste lacked alcohol, My friend had a Mellon Cooler this one basically tasted like tea. Once our friend arrived she had a Jack & Diet this wasn’t any better, not sure what is going on here with drinks but they seriously lack alcohol. Also tried a Vodka & Cranberry. Ugh I got juice not cool, why are they so cheap w the alcohol ?? I don’t get it at $ 10 – 14 per drink they really should be better specially for what they charge. About the only thing that gave us a bit of a buzz was the Double Barrel shot not bad, good tasting. In the past I’ve tried the Swamp water in the fish bowl this is not bad if u drink it all u may actually get a buzz. Food wings are decent. We had the appetizer sampler u can get 4 for $ 12 we got the Fries, good fries the Sweet potato tater tots not bad Fried Brussel Sprouts ahh this was ok & the Mac & Cheese pretty good very cheesy this was a great platter to share small dishes enough just for picking. The Fire platter is pretty cool, Meats, hush puppies all w a cool flame burning not bad. As for the restaurant additional seating upstairs, fun décor service at the bar was good, drinks lacked alcohol food is not bad if u stick with the basics prices are ok.

We were headed to an event at MSG and wanted a nice, filling, well priced meal beforehand. This was right across the street, took reservations online, and prices were reasonable. We sat upstairs and without AC it was a little warmer than we would have liked, but the windows were open for a breeze. We split a pitcher of Dogfish IPA $ 32 and the BBQ for 2 for $ 50. We actually split between 3 of us and had plenty of food. We all left feeling full and satisfied. Service and food were good, and the hostess called the night before to confirm the reservation.

If you are longing for a bbq spot with country music in the bsckground and sports bar combo than this is the place for you. I ate there for the first time today with my dad who has longed to visit the city. The service was very good. The host greeted us promptly and took us to a table then our server, Jessica, came with a pleasant attitude. We both ordered the half pound cheeseburger with fries. The burger was very good because it was made to order with veggies and butter pickles. The fries were not so great. They were edible but nothing to brag about. The place offers a variety of alcoholic beverages for the one wants to wet their whistle with beer, wine or call drinks. I would eat there again.

If I could give it a negative I would. I left work with friends and came here because it’s local. The hostess tried to sit us by the door but I asked to be seated upstairs. They restrooms are filthy, the toilet paper is on a old wire hanger. I felt like I was in prison while using the restroom. This place is here for tourist. The busboys dropped some items from a table when a customer closed the check, and then picked it up, placed it to his left and continued cleaning and placing flatware on the table. Same dirty hands. The food… Ehhh. It’s on you. Order with caution!

I came here for ladies night & I have to say I wasn’t expecting Brother Jimmy’s to look the way it did. BJ’s is huge, there’s two floors, ample amount of space to sit & drink. I didn’t find out about the second floor until closing when I had to use the bathroom. Had I known about this I would’ve suggested to my party to go upstairs to enjoy the view of the city. I ordered the special of the night which was a $ 3 frozen classic margarita. Normally I wouldn’t even bother ordering a Margarita let alone anything frozen. The premade goodness gave me a slight buzz that soon wore off after brain freeze. I wanted something light so I ordered an app & a side. The Popcorn Shrimp was good which was accompanied by spicy dipping sauce. There had to be at least 30 Shrimps in my basket. The batter was very light, it wasn’t over seasoned, & once I ate one I kept going back for more. The French Fries were too salty for my palate & burned the roof of my mouth. Although they weren’t frozen & freshly cut I wouldn’t order them again. Darren, the bartender was kind of enough to give us shots on the house for not putting in my side order with my app. I guess he didn’t hear me. He was really sweet & apologized for the mishap. Instead of just correcting his mistake by pouring me a shot he gave my friends shots as well. We had Jack Honey with freshly squeezed Lemon Juice. It was good.

In full Unilocal disclosure-ism, I came here only for drinks. I had some time to kill in the area and thought I would grab a drink. Brother Jimmy’s has a great little bar on the first floor, with the dining room on the second floor. I came here during what I would guess was happy hour as a Maker’s Mark and coke was $ 8. Not a bad deal. The service at the bar was friendly and efficient even though it was starting to get busy. Given it’s proximity to Penn Station /Madison Square Garden, Brother Jimmy’s is a great spot for drinks or dinner before a game or concert at MSG or before hopping a train out of town.

I had a quick solo lunch here on a rainy Saturday. I sat at the sticky bar and ordered a BJ’s BBQ burger which was topped with cheddar cheese, an onion ring, and BBQ sauce. I ordered the burger medium but it came nearly well-done. The patty wasn’t particularly special except for its decent size. On the plus side the buns were toasted. I had a choice of side, so I went with the fried okra. The okra was seasoned well and tasted a lot like onion and garlic powder. I also ordered a pint of Shock Top White to wash it all down. I was a bit disappointed because the bartender informed me about the anniversary special deals AFTER I ordered my meal. I felt like I missed out on a sweet deal and got a mediocre meal. Maybe it was my fault for ordering a burger in a BBQ joint but I wasn’t satisfied with the overall experience.
