I moved to Inwood last year and find the local grocery stores lacking, especially in their meats. I am so pleased with the Broadyke Meat Market, and yes it costs more but what a huge difference in freshness and taste. I’ve gotten the chicken, sausages, and pork to cook at home and they have all been outstanding quality.

I’ve been stepping through those doors for 35 years, there is no better purveyor of meat than Bobby! I’ve tried the markets, Stew Leonard’s

Amazing meats. Amazing service, Bob is so sweet! And I have been a client for over 20 years. Now my reason for the 3⁄5 rating is that they have an older gentleman(not the owner) making sandwiches and the amount of slices he puts on the sandwiches are ridiculous. The first time I ordered one from him I had three thin slices of ham and two of cheese, my sandwich was mostly bread I thought maybe it was a mistake and looked past it. Second time I placed an order with him I got the same service so now I only enter if the Spanish guy is making the sandwiches. But this spot is still the best in the neighborhood.

OMG! How have I not gone to this place sooner? My girlfriend lives up in Inwood and we usually stick to our regular places but we we’re taking a walk the other afternoon and ended up finding this true neighborhood gem. I decided to try their homemade roast beef and she chose their roast pork. Both sandwiches were simply delicious. I truly can’t say I’ve ever had a better roast beef sandwich. Bob, the butcher who runs the place, is one damn nice guy. The deli itself is small but cozy and really has an old school feel to it. Since finding it we’ve been back several times. They have the best bagels in Inwood, which I had previously honored Dichter’s Pharmacy with(sorry Manny, we still love you!), and some damn good coffee(the only reason to go to Starbucks around the corner is to use their bathroom). Bob makes any sandwich you want to order and does it well and with a smile. If it’s nice out you should get your stuff and sit across the street in the beautiful park as there aren’t any seats in the deli to sit at to devour your lunch on. Hands down this is the best place I’ve found in Inwood for a freshly made sandwich and killer bagel.

This place is the real deal! Friendly, courteous service. Best bagels uptown. Better coffee and pastry than anything at Starbucks or Parkview next door, and for less money! It’s the first place I checked out when I moved to nab 12 years ago and nothing’s opened better yet.

Amazing! The guys here are great, they catered my son’s first birthday party. Great sandwiches and sides, totally reasonable price. Only place to go in Inwood.

Authentic old school butcher. They have been here for forty years and you can tell. Their homemade roast beef and roast pork are excellent. Great place to stop for a sandwich on your way out of town.

I just got back from talking a walk through the park with my boyfriend and hitting up Broadyke for some lunch. Any time we pop in, be it to pick up meat for dinner, or to grab a sandwich, it’s always been an A+ experience. The guys behind the counter are always nice and friendly, and their sandwiches are always(always!) delicious. Today we got their meatball subs, with a cookie to share and some polish kielbasa to cook up for dinner. We haven’t had the kielbasa yet, but we scarfed down the subs, and couldn’t have been more pleased. I really couldn’t recommend this place more. It’s an authentic piece of the city, and just an all around pleasant experience.

I tried this place because of all the great Unilocal reviews. My husband and I were not let down. The owners are sooo friendly and amazing. We had the Roast beef on a roll. Holy shit so yum! I also had the apple strudel and mozzarella in olive oil everything so good. We are defiantly going to be customers there. It’s a walk but so worth it. The owner even gave some fresh turkey to our dog Leonidas such a great gesture. If your in the neighborhood go for it. Pricing was amazing.

A legit neighborhood shop. The owner and staff are friendly and they cut everything there so you can see how amazingly fresh it is. Hell, there’s sawdust on the floor. Old-school butcher. But you don’t have to pay extra to support local, this place has great prices, too. They even have jumbo, briney pickles for my vegetarian girlfriend. An Inwood gem that will hopefully survive the impending Starbucks, Etc. grip over the neighborhood.

The best butcher ! Bob really knows his meat and everything is fresh and great quality. A classic neighborhood butcher with sawdust on the floor. The rib eyes are perfect !

One of the neighborhood landmarks for me –and I have been here for some time. Inwood is changing so fast and I hope Broadyke does not become a casualty of gentrification. Over the years I bought every kind of meat imaginable from them and was never disappointed. Ask any question and they are happy to answer even give some recipe tips along. This is definitely the place to go for meat in Inwood. That being said what makes Broadyke very special is the prepared foods they have. I know Bob –the owner– makes them himself and they are excellent. Soups, meatballs, lasagna they are all at the level of fancy restaurants in the city. If you are fed up with au-bon-pan soups, get your soup here next time and remember how a homemade soup is supposed to taste like. Also if you are sick and tired of Boar’s Head cold cuts that invaded New York, try the homemade roast beef and turkey breast on a roll and again you will remember how good cold cuts can be. They also have some baked goods like corn muffins or cookies but those are your average deli baked goods. Not bad but nothing special. Try this place for meat and for food, you will not be disappointed.

This is your traditional small business that has a diversity of delicious offerings, hand written signs and home made food like lasagna. I’ve starting stopping by every time I’m in the neighborhood. They’ve got a well worn butchers block, it’s really a real butcher! There’s sawdust on the floor and the guys there must love the business they’re in b/c the service is great. Right by the train you can also grab a morning coffee and pastry here instead of the corporate fare next door.

I’m glad I have a place like this near me! I went in for some bison patties the other day and was surprised they had them. I’ve gone in for coffee and bagels before and they are delicious. Looks like they also carry cookies and miscellaneous sweets. I saw a customer order some. Every time I’ve gone in they were very fast, the bagels and meat have been good, and the people behind the counter have been helpful. I’ll go in more frequently for my meats. They are not open Sundays and close early during the week. I just go weekday mornings.

I recently discovered this butcher and am so happy. I bought some organic chicken breasts at a very reasonable price. The chicken was fresh and high quality, and they offered to split the chicken breasts for me. It is difficult to find high quality organic meats like this in your average grocery store in this neighborhood. They have a variety of high quality cuts of meat and cheese at very reasonable prices, not to mention the friendly service. I will definitely return to support an amazing local business!

You can’t beat their meat, if that’s your thing. Me? Pumpernickel(German for Devil’s Fart) and their homemade scallion cream cheese. It does the yummy so good. The people working there are really cool too… not assholes at all; and I would know since I’ve been an asshole since ’79 son!

Places like this don’t exist anymore! Its awesome, the service is great and super friendly. Some of the best bagel’s I’ve had. EVER. They’re sandwiches are made to order and with love! They offer a great selection of meat, I myself, have yet to purchase meat from them cause frankly, it’s intimidating, as I ‘ve never shopped a real butcher shop before(sad but true) BUT, I will one day! Everything always looks fresh and Im sure if asked anyone behind the counter they would walk me through the process. This place is a gem!

Have been wanting to try this place since moving to the neighborhood months ago but am never able to catch them when they are open. Important business hours need-to-know — open until 6pm — closed Sunday and Monday A deli case is packed with meats and cheeses. Made in house turkey breast, roast beef, roast pork, meatballs, sausages, chicken cutlet, eggplant parm, the list goes on. I decided on their Turkey Sandwich on a club roll dressed up with a little mayo, mustard, Swiss, lettuce, and tomato. The simplest of sandwiches made right. Shame on me for not getting their names, but one had to be the owner, and the guy behind the counter that took my order and made my sandwich, both were especially welcoming, chatty, and helped me decide on what to order. They take plastic so that’s a huge plus. I hear their bagels are also great and if I wasn’t going to be eating on the go, I would have went for their chicken salad on the gorgeous pumpernickel bagel. Next time. Neighborhood gem in the deli department? I think yes.

Great place! The meat is fantastic, the service is exemplary and they have great bagels/bread too! The coffee is cheap and also very good. I’ve got nothing bad to say about this place… go and get your fresh meat and bread from this place… there’s simply nothing else like it up in Inwood… and it’s right by the A train so grabbing coffee and a bagel in the morning on the way to work is easy and only costs a total of $ 2.75!
