The only reason I give it 3 stars and not less is because the food is good and reasonable for all I get. I order my sandwiches there at lunch and they are large and filling and good. My problem is they are the most unfriendly bunch of people I have ever seen. I enter with a hello and barely get a look. They guy who makes the sandwiches is the worst. I say please, thank you… and he says absolutely nothing. He is actually pretty intimidating. So much so, that sometimes I want to avoid the place. You order and since it is made to order, depending on how many people are in front of me I am there 10 + minutes. Uncomfortable. I mean, come on. Lighten up. Please!

I end up coming to this place at least 3x a week because I only get 15min for a break and it’s the closest place I can go to to grab something really quick and come back. On several occasions, whether it’s a potato salad or a fruit bowl, I’ve found them selling food that has gone bad. How is this happening at a deli in the city!!! How is no one checking for their quality!!! The food must have gone some time ago because I could taste the acidity in the food and it was just plain not edible. It was a quality people probably could get sick from. I honestly do not know how this place is still running. I believe an inspection is in order at this place. Not only that, quite often the guy(tall mid eastern looking dude) at the cash register over charges you a quarter or two and when I corrected him, he continued to look at me dumbfounded. So, I took him to the fridge and asked him what does it say? It’s 2.50 not $ 2.75 right? He eventually gave me back a quarter, but he remarked«Oh, it’s only a quarter» So, I had to reply back«Ya, it’s only a quarter, but it’s the principle!». So now, I keep my eyes out when he rings me up and I make sure to remember the price of all the items I purchase. Don’t go here if you can afford to not to!!!

There was a time when I would have given this place 4 or 5 stars(I get regular breakfasts and lunches here, and am always friendly and polite), but they lost me as a customer today. When I ordered a buffalo chicken wrap and got sliced turkey with bleu cheese, I very nicely brought it back and said it was wrong. Rather than apologize or try to find a way to make it right, the cook insisted it was correct, yelling as he paraded around an unopened«loaf» of Boars Head buffalo chicken sliced deli meat. I asked if he could just put hot sauce on my sandwich – I’m not being a jerk here, or even asking for a refund – and he just sprinkled a little on just the open ends of my cut wrap. No offer of a side of hot sauce. Never an apology from anyone for either the miscommunication(when you write buffalo chicken on a menu, there is an expectation) nor the rude behavior, although at some point they tried to just hand me a cash refund, which is not what I even asked for – I just wanted my sandwich! And so I’m done.

Broadway Gourmet has excellent food for really reasonable prices. I work in the NOHO area and food can be so expensive around here when you’re looking for lunch. They have some great soups each day and pretty great sandwiches including brie and avocado which maybe you wouldn’t expect to find in this type of deli. What it lacks in atmosphere it makes up for with quick service and good food for less than most places in the neighborhood.

I grabbed a turkey sandwich here the other day and got some weird off brand meat that was pretty disgusting. I should have known better from the looks of it but I was in a rush so I tried it anyway and was not happy.

This deli splits me in a war of head vs. heart — on the one hand, it beats anyone’s prices in the hood, has really fresh sandwiches(both hot and cold) and is a great lunch deal for Soho. On the other, however, is the never-ending struggle with the most important quality a deli needs to possess — speed. This place is usually run by 2 dudes in the AM and 1 dude in the afternoon. This makes it fucking *impossible* to get a quick sandwich cuz the dude is usually cooking bacon on the tiny-ass griddle over and over and over again. He takes 1 order at a time and takes his sweet time caressing the bacon. If you want a cold wrap, you gotta wait for the bacon to crisp up. And then the weird chick on her phone has a long request about«a triple-decker, but, like, without the turkey.» Oh ma lord. Don’t come here if you’re in a rush. Side note — although this doesn’t bother me at all — the place is fairly grimy, but in a charming NYC kind of way. The tiny-ass griddle houses *everything,* so vegetarians beware. Everything looks gross, but tastes delicious, so there’s that. Also, lox lovers — try the Salmon Sandwich. Cream cheese, really tender and fresh lox, tomatoes and cucumbers on multigrain bread. Not too salty, very filling, delicious as all hell.

I work in this area and sometimes you just don’t want to spend 20 dollars or more on lunch. I wonder through the streets of Soho and passed this bodega-ish establishment. I noticed the long line by the grill for people to place orders. I waited in line and the sandwich menu is huge. And there are soooo many different desserts from triple chocolate cake to tiramisu. Yummy! Want some food that is fast, decent, and affordable I would recommend dropping in here. They are also available via GrubHub

I used to come here for breakfast before work but stopped for the following reasons: The place is filthy. Horrible service. I can understand someone having a bad day every here and there and I don’t expect stellar customer service at a deli but these guys are just plain old rude. Pizza is horrible and usually served room temperature(apparently if you don’t ask, they won’t even bother heating it up), but the sandwiches are decent. You’re better off going to Duke’s Café a block away.

What I will say is «LOOKUP», the place has cakes of dust everywhere. This place is a cash pit for the owners and everyone who eats here is falling for it. Order on seamless elsewhere or order from street vendors… the corner bodega deli in the hood is cleaner. This place is gross… again LOOKUP, dust is caked on the ceiling and fans that blow it onto food. Shame on the owners who are so irresponsible putting money over health, shame shame shame

Amazing! Excellent breakfast options, including healthy alternatives. Great salad bar as well. Favorites include bacon, egg and cheese sandwich, french toast platter and create your own salad. Friendly as well! Love that they’re just a few doors down from my office. Thanks!

They have a lot of option, and each menu item is hit or miss, but if you find the things there you like it’s by far the best value in the area. My personal favorite is the avocado cheddar sand which, and the breakfast egg sand which on a bagel. The chicken cutlet hero I tried was not good.

I like to call this place, Ghetto Café Dukes. While it’s not as pretty as Dukes, it is cheaper and has the same quality of food. Best bang for the buck in Soho!

This is the only lunch place for regular non-yuppies in this general vicinity. The salads are the selling point for sure; they are cheap, fast, and infinitely customizable. Sandwiches are fine but take a long time because everyone who works in the entire neighborhood is jammed in here trying to eat. It’s kind of a grim and cold experience waiting for food here but the food is pretty fine!

I come in here most mornings. The staff is friendly and quick. In my opinion they have the beat iced coffee with a great price. I like my iced coffee light and sweet. I also usually get a toasted egg bagel with lox. I am always happy when I leave here. I also sometimes stop in for their lunch paninis.

I enjoy there hot food buffet. A small which includes 1 meat and two sides rings up for 3.99! I still can never eat it all! It’s not as crazy as dukes café and people here are friendly. This place is a little run down.

Salad, salad, salad. That’s the best thing here. I haven’t even tried the pizza, but I’ve heard mixed reviews(a staple? really?!). If you’re a relatively healthy eater, you’re starving, and you’re also sort of broke, with no cash on hand(no minimum charges, thanks to Square!), you should go here. I think that covers appx. 89% of New Yorkers, right? Once you pick your salad out of the case(you have to pick it out, or they’ll yell at you and point and you’ll feel really dumb), then you get to choose your super fresh toppings. If you’re not carnivorous, feel free to get 2 veg in the place of the protein that’s included in the dealio. One of the awesome perks of this place. It’s better than most salad places, in my opinion.

Not only is this place slow and incompetent, it seems to create a force field of slowness and incompetence that seizes everyone inside, so that even the customers become babbling idiots incapable of making basic decisions or performing simple tasks(such as, say, ordering and paying for food). Coffee: perpetually bad and burnt. Toasted bagel: burnt to a motherf***ing CRISP. Shiz is BLACK. How hard is it to toast a goddamn bagel? Vitamin Water: lukewarm. Salads: taste pretty good, but take about a century to make. Seriously, if you’re in the ‘hood and want a salad, go two blocks down to Duke where the greens are fresher, you get more toppings, and the guys who make it are trained at some sort of Ninja Salad Academy for speed and agility. Pizza: spectacularly lackluster. Gluey cheese, sad toppings. Service: atrocious. The line at the register is generally endless, and moves about as fast as the line to get onto Space Mountain during school break at Disneyworld(except they don’ t actually have an electric sign telling you it’ll be an hour and a half until you can pay for your breakfast.) This place is an embarrassment to New York delis everywhere, and should be disbarred from the New York Deli Association(if there were such thing).

this review is based solely on the bibimbop: I came here one day because I saw a sign advertising bibimbop and I was super excited as there is no korean joints located near my office. However this is NOT a korean restaurant and no, this does not taste like authentic bibimbop. This is a super great option though if you hate salads but you want to eat healthy. Don’t get me wrong though. It doesn’t taste like authentic bibimbop, but it still tastes pretty darn good. Also the portion is huge and it’s a one day meal(a meal that will last you the entire day!) for less than $ 8 bucks with a miso soup!(although miso soup is just eh). All in all, COMEHEREFORBIBIMBOPSALADHATERS!
