Brgr

This place is a rip off. Took forever to het our burgers, which were undereheing to say the least. And we still havent gotten our drinks.

Not a fan! I ordered a medium rare burger. It was more rare than medium. As other reviewers said, there were bones in the greasy burger. We ordered the trio which was fried onion, sweet potato and French fries. It was more grease than edible food. Two burgers, the trio and two beers came to over $ 40.

Small burger on a dry bun and overcooked. Slow service. Cashier was quick but not the others.
I stopped for lunch and thought it would be a great burger since the name is brgr. I also thought it would be quick since it looked like a fast food joint and I was the only customer. Alas, I ordered a burger «medium» with mushrooms on whole wheat bun and a sparkling water. The bill came to 12.90. Pricey but I thought «ok, it’s grass-​fed.»
It was really disappointing and it took over 15 minutes to get it. When I got it I opened it up. I thought «Wow! That’s small! And it looks burnt.» It was supposed to be medium but it was seriously well done. I didn’t have time to complain so I just took it and was on my way.

Came in hoping to prove the bad reviews wrong
Boy were they right. I ordered the original burger with no pickles and a side of fries.
I received my order in a timely fashion and proceeded to enjoy.
My enjoyment was denied. The burger was not the best quality beef. The sandwich was gritty tasting and as I chomped down my tooth almost broke from a bit of bone that missed the grinder by a hair! I spat out the piece and tried not to think about it but the burger was a time bob of little bones waiting to attack.
Not only that, it was completely saturated in «brgr» sauce and it took away from tasting the meat. Then the big surprise– pickles!!! The cashier even called it back to me twice «no pickles» yet here they are tucked in at the middle of the sandwich.
I didn’t deconstruct my food before I ate. Perhaps I should from now on!
The fries were good crispy shoe string style. Frozen not fresh.
I may come back to give them a second chance but for now I must forget this experience.

The burger is just okay. I like the onion hay sides though. Their soda was flat, no ice on the machine and my drink was replaced with a bottled water. A single burger, a drink and a little side for $ 16.22! Not worth it. Not really a place I want to go back.

The food was not worth the price. There are much better places to get a $ 10 burger. Also the burger pattys have cartilage/​bone in them which was not appetizing .
I also had a very bad interaction with the manager on duty. Their coke aching was not working properly and I wasn’t told until after I purchased my drink, when I told them there was something wrong I was scolded and when I asked for a refund the manager rolled her eyes at me. I work customer service so I always try to be friendly, I was extremely disappointed overall and will not be returning

It was relatively empty this evening which is a change from the usual whenever I’ve walked by. I ordered «Fresh Morning» ($ 9.9) which rang up to 10.50 before tax; the burger came out 9 minutes later. The egg was crispy and cooked well, the brioche bun, warm and soft. The burger was cooked medium as requested and tasted fresh and cooked exactly to my specification. It was a delicious and enjoyable burger to be sure! Sarah, the associate who rang me up, was very friendly and attentive-​however, did forget my side of herb mayo and used my cup to scoop the ice which is a health code violation. I’ll definitely be back– the foods great!

The worst service I received was today at this place.
I walked in the store, paid for my order and came back in a few minutes to collect it. But apparently they could run my card properly and they did not inform me. So I had to do it again when I got back and wait more, bcz they did not start making the burger.
Then I went home with my food and found out that they did not put the topping I asked for! So I had to go back and complain.
I mean, There are 5 people working in the kitchen and 2 at the cashier and they still can’t figure out what to do…
All I wanted to do after a long day is to get my food, get home and enjoy it. Did not happened.
When I came back, Nobody offered to make a new burger since they gave me not what I ordered. All I got is a weak apology and a few mushrooms thrown on the half of my burger that got cold since I had to care back from home.
Just very Bad service.
Would love to get a reply from the management.

Not the best, I expected better. The burger was okay nothing special, was small and kinda dry. The fries were also average.

Where do I begin with this place. Oh yeah the first thing that hit me which was the ridiculous price as I ordered your basic burger fries and a soda. How in Gods name does that come to $ 20.even in NYC. I don’t care what it’s fed it doesn’t justify a $ 12 price tag for a minuscule burger my 5 year old could plow through. I know cause I make better burgers at him and their usually 8oz. I guess that’s the gimmick behind the abbreviated name. Must be. I’m not laughing
As others stated the burger was smaller than the bun
Taste– average
Fries– McDonald’s are better, you get more and not $ 3.25
Lets talk about the 20 minute wait for said marginal eats. There were two other couples in there and me and it took 20 minutes. That wait and price alone prompted me to even write this.
You know when you buy something or go somewhere and feel so cheated that your mad at yourself because you could have easily done something differently at some point in the experience to avoid that. I made up my mind that I wanted a burger and there you have it

I’ve had a sudden craving for a cheeseburger for the past week, so I stopped by here to give it a try. Way too overpriced, but it’s a good burger. It reminds me of a better version of Shake Shack. Definitely satisfied my craving. For $ 20…

This place needs to be investigated by the board of health. That is the first issue that I have with this place. The guy who took the order was the same guy serving food, collecting payment, wiping tables all with the same gloves on, never taking them off or changing them. All of the employees were doing the same thing, even the manager.
On to the food, burger pattie much too small for the bun, no lettuce or tomato.
Fries– very small portion over cooked & oily. Fries were forgotten at first so the guy takes the whole plate back to the kitchen instead of just bringing the fries out.
Manager was requested because of the issues that were witnessed & the manager didn’t care. The words out of his mouth were «yeah, ok whatever»
Oh, & they’re way too expensive

A friend and I went here back in May because I had the sudden urge to consume a milkshake and burger. A few days and overpriced/​underwhelming burgers later, we each received a notice from our respective credit card companies that our cards had been fraudulently — and unsuccessfully — used to purchase $ 500+ of merchandise at the Macy’s in Herald Square. I knew the culprit had to be someone at BRGR because I don’t really use that card anymore; besides an under $ 20 purchase at Target (that I made), the attempted Macy’s purchase was the only other charge on my card that month. There’s also the joint issues of me never spending $ 500+ on a single swipe, and the fact that I avoid that Macy’s like the plague…
Fine if your workers are thieves, but can you at least make the food good enough to semi-​compensate?

I’m giving you two starts because two burgers and fries should not come to $ 27 at a «fast-​healthy» order at the counter place. Wow can you say overpriced. Shake shack just down the way boasts the same healthy burger with a much lighter price tag.
Save your dollars. The burgers are thin, but good in taste. Their brioche bun and onion hay gets you your two stars.

It’s good, definitely. It’s just really really expensive for a burger place.
2 people = $ 33. I get that these are decent quality burgers but if I’d known that I’d have gone elsewhere. Shake Shack does the exact same quality for less.
Make sure you get the extra beef patty. These burgers aren’t big.
And the fries were average.

A bit disappointed with those burgers, taste good but the patty is always full of bones, which is not always the best chewing experience
Best shakes in town? Hard to confirm, the chocolate doesn’t really taste like chocolate fries are average

BRGR should be better than it is. There were nine folks dining in, this evening. There was no line to the counter. Seventeen minutes later, I received my order.
The haystack was extremely greasy. I blot with a few napkins and wondered if the fryer was even on when these were dropped. The double patty wrapped in lettuce and horseradish sauce was begging for salt. The meat was cooked medium well. It was dry in taste. And greasy. As if the grease is going to soften up the dry cook temperature. The portions are petite. If there was an explosion of taste and texture and heat then it could be acceptable. But, it is not happening here. I had a Bass Ale. The counter person asked me to describe the taste of Bass because Stella Artois is like Budweiser…
Yea, there is no taste profile anywhere.

Wow was I disappointed by this place!
The eating space is open and clean but as most of the other Unilocal reviewers have said here… Overpriced with mediocre food. Also — best milkshake in NYC? Ehhhhhh you could do better even at Shake Shack (which isn’t saying too much).
I think the only thing I’d come back for is to grab a side of fries for a snack

My son and I each had «Beautiful Day» brgrs and we shared a «trio» mixture of fried sweet and russet potatoes and onion «hay.» With a soda and a fresh lemonade the total was just over $ 32. The food was good and was ready in a reasonable amount of time. We ordered the burgers cooked medium rare and they were a little more rare than I expected. I would order medium next time.
Sweet potato fries were good and fried onion «hay» was great.
I would go back, maybe try another variety of burger, but in don’t think brgr beats either Shake Shack or Five Guys.
If they lowered the prices a 15−20% it would be a much better value. Also, another reviewer suggested a combo meal. That’s an excellent idea.

Turn around and go to Shake Shack.
My boyfriend and I were really excited to try the new Brgr that just opened up on the Upper West Side. With high hopes and hungry stomachs we thought everything looked promising as food passed by.
I ordered the BEAUTIFUL DAY (Beef Patty + American Cheese + brgr Sauce + Grilled Onions + Lettuce + Tomato + Pickles) burger, regular fries and a black and white shake. My boyfriend ordered the FRESH MORNING (Beef Patty + American Cheese + Fried Egg + brgr Sauce + Grilled Onions + Lettuce + Tomato) burger, regular fries and a soda. Our total for everything come to under $ 40 for the two of us — about the same cost as Shake Shack or Five Guys.
We ended up bringing our food home and when we arrived and opened up our burgers they were missing ingredients! The BEAUTIFUL DAY was supposed to come with Grilled Onions + Pickles but I only had the patty, cheese, sauce, lettuce and tomato. The FRESH MORNING was supposed to come with a fried egg but that was also missing. Also, the fries were lacking. One order of fries at Shake Shack equals two orders of fries at Brgr.
Overall it was not a great experience. The only redeeming thing about my order was the milkshake but I do not plan on going back.
