It’s a good place to get stuff to go without having to deal with the restaurant crowd. I’ve had their ready to go soup, the tofu soup(soondubu), their bibimbap, and I enjoyed the variety there.

Food is usually pretty solid. The night guy on the grill makes great sandwiches but always has a crappy attitude and isn’t very polite

They offer a wide variety from a hot food line to pastries, sandwiches, salad bar and even sushi. They’ll have something to satisfy any craving. The food overall is good. I wouldn’t say great, its still a deli. The price is reasonable considering its Park Avenue. I normally spend anywhere from $ 9 to $ 12 on a filling meal. The spacious upper seating level is an added plus. A great lunch option for affordability and variety.

This place is the best lunch spot in the city for a reasonably priced and delicious meal that’s grab and go. It’s food it super fresh and the staff is helpful and accommodating. The sushi and udon bowls are delicious, super fresh fish with out any fancy fussing. Definitely no frills and a great place.

CREDITCARDFRAUDALERT! This is the THIRD time my credit card has been hacked after visiting this business. I swipe my card, then hours later, multiple fraudulent charges are incurred. The staff may be behind the scam, or their credit card readers might be compromised. Either way, BEWARE! The food is also very low-quality, so it’s not worth going here anyway.

(3 ½ stars) Was here once before years ago, love their seating area upstairs. didn’t order any food but ate some cookies with coffee & ice cream from their store area. Today I came by, to grab something light before heading over to an event at Prana, later on. I got the«Veggie Ramen noodle soup». Good hardy size however EXTREMELYHOT(so be careful) it was very bland though, once upstairs & after l tasted. l realized there wasn’t any salt/pepper station, l didn’t want to leave my stuff alone to look for salt packets downstairs. So l just dealt with it. It was slightly spicy which was surprising since l had asked the guy behind the counter, if it was, before l chose it & he said«no». –_-jerk. Anyway l would go back to try something else next time or to just relax upstairs.

I love bread and butter and so does my co-workers. It’s our go to spot when we are hungry and need to order delivery or pick up. The selections are great from pasta, salad, sandwiches to soups and korean and japanese food and a salad bar of a variety of food. I know plenty of deli’s around offer the same type of selections but the food is delicious here and always on point. Breakfast is one of my favorites here and the cooks are amazing! What I wouldn’t recommend here is getting fruits from the salad bar because it’s always so expensive for me. The lines can be long but it’s quick.

I came in once, it was great. I decided to come back, and it was good. Then I tried again, and it was good-ish. One again, and it was okay. Then okay, okay, and bad, and bad and goodish and… sigh. New job, new office location, new strategic lunch decisions. Bread and butter is a few blocks down from where I work, and it was very helpful to be able to be indecisive about what I wanted for lunch AND be able to make a decision between a variety of foods all while remaining in the same building. My old office had a place like this on the ground floor, so the hot bar, sandwiches, salads… very familiar. However, there is a line between familiarity and consistency that varies far too much to make this my solid, go-to lunch place. The hot bar looks good if you get there when it gets out, but for a 1:37pm lunch, i’ve seen what it looks like picked over, and suddenly the price per pound doesn’t seem as worth it. I’ve had a few really good sandwiches — both grilled chicken and one of the specialty roast beef ones. I’ve also had some bad sandwiches — and they were the same ones. What you order vs. what you get varies, likely dependent on a variety of factors; who is making it, crowds, what time it is, etc. Sometimes I get exactly what I ask for, sometimes the guys go on autopilot and replace mustard with mayo, forget the lettuce, etc. Since the counters are so high, I can’t really see what they are doing, otherwise I would correct them. Once I get to my office, it’s a little late. My breaking point was my roast beef sandwich turned lettuce sandwich with one single slice of roast beef on it. I was really hungry and it did not satisfy. When it’s good it’s very good, and when it’s not, it’s frustrating. I don’t want to consistently police my food prep, so while i’m not a daily patron, I know that I need to pay attention when I do come in. On a separate note, the prices(sandwiches, breakfast food, coffee) are reasonable, and the coffee(iced hazelnut) is really refreshing. I’d say the hot bar is fair game if you get there early, there are better places to get a salad for $ 10, and as long as you pay attention you’ll likely get a pretty good sandwich.

For many many years, this was my go-to spot in the area for hot buffet food. Very nice selection with friendly employees. I’ve had nearly everything here, from the sandwiches to the sushi and the buffet food and have nothing bad to say. There’s more than enough comfy seating upstairs. It can get pretty busy around lunch time obviously, so plan accordingly.

I have a Meetup group, and had Meetups here every other Sunday given it has a lot of space, but the last time I visited the men making my french toast were extremely rude to me, talked about me in Spanish when I was right there(not knowing I can understand them), and laughed at me. I decided I will be taking my loyal business elsewhere. Burn me once and you’re done. Sorry, Bread and Butter on Park South, but you’re on my black list.

Ok for a quick bite when you’re in the neighborhood. I was overwhelmed by the choices. I had a muffin and coffee. I sat at a counter by the window. After I made my food selection I was confused about who to pay. Like I said the place is overwhelmingly large! I took a walk around both floors just to see the selections. They have a grocery in one section. I didn’t feel comfortable here. I doubt I’ll be back.

Bread & Butter is a good place for people in the area that are too lazy to cook, but feel guilty ordering take-out. I would relate the place to a fancy cafeteria. They have everything you can think of. There’s a really nice guy that works the pizza/pasta/ramen/stir-fry station(yes, that’s a thing). Other than him, everyone else who works there looks kind-of angry and mad that I exist(I guess that’s just New York though). *Avoid buying groceries there* Fact: eggs should never cost $ 10.50.

Ok. So on thanksgiving I had to work, and was looking for food in the area. Came across this place and saw that they had turkey burgers which I love. They also had a good deal for it with fries. So I ordered it. The cook was kind of grumpy, but I figured he was upset because he was stuck at work on thanksgiving. I wasn’t paying attention to him making it because I was on the phone. He gives me my order. I pay for it, and sit down to eat it. Again I’m on the phone so I’m not really paying attention. First bite was the grossest, gummiest taste I ever had. I opened it to look at it and the burger looked raw like it was thawed out n thrown in the bun. It looked absolutely disgusting. Like I’ve never had a turkey burger so bad. So I told the cashier, he tells me to take it to the guy who made it. Take it back to the guy who made it and I Tell him it’s not cooked properly and it doesn’t taste good. He tells me he knows how to make turkey burgers he’s been making them a very long time. I should have told him I wanted it well done. no! I just wanted it cooked with even a tad bit of seasoning on it. He takes the same burger that I bit into, throws it back on the grill. !! I honestly believe the grill wasn’t hot enough but it was absolutely disgusting. Before and after. I will NEVER come back here again. EVER!!!

I’m here for the daily morning coffee. Other than that, I’m not so much of a fan. They have a variety of on-the-go type of food, especially for those professionals who need to grab a bite to eat and fast. From what I could see, their food looks okaaaay. Like, if I missed breakfast and was in desperate need for a bite really fast, I would come here. Other than that, not really worth it.

I come here for breakfast often, which is served all day but after 11am you need to pay $ 1 extra. I really enjoy their omelets because you get a ton of home fries and toast, all for 5 bucks. That usually keeps me full all day, which is great especially when I am trying to save some money. Today I got an egg wrap which is also good and under 5 dollars. The service is quick and you can ask them to make your breakfast any way you like. The ingredients are fresh. I am giving it 4 stars because it is not the most amazing delicious food ever but its good and its cheap. They also have all kinds of different food for lunch, sandwiches, wraps, salads, pizza, and cooked hot food. Its good when you do not know what you want, you will probably find something that catches your eye. They have seating upstairs.

Wait, what? 3 stars only? I agree that prices are a little high for certain items, but overall I think it’s pretty reasonable, especially in the city. This place is heaven on a lunch break… that is if heaven fell to earth and landed in midtown. The options are endless, and in addition to made-to-order burritos, sandwiches, and salads, you can create your own WHATEVER at the buffet. The selection at the buffet is even more astounding, with all different cuisines represented! I ended up going with a mixed salad that I topped with some chicken salad, fruit salad, and guac(in lieu of dressing). Yes, it was QUITE delicious. I was surprised by how little of a wait there was to check out. The cashiers are quite efficient and do their best to get you out of there as soon as possible!

Bread and Butter is a cute little spot to grab breakfast or lunch! When I came by I definitely enjoyed my breakfast and this place was conveniently located right by my hotel off of Park Ave. They also have a small grocery store inside. For my order I had a panini breakfast sandwich with egg and bacon. They make your breakfast sandwiches while you order and wait to pay. The panini breakfast sandwich tasted fresh and all of it’s goodness left me wanting more! They put a good amount of bacon and the eggs were seasoned well. Their service is good and the food is worth the price. Bread and Butter deserves 4 stars :)

A classic enormo-deli where you can get pretty much whatever your little heart desires. For lunch, anyway. Unfortunately, the hot salad bar selections were depleted and developing a dried-out crust by mid-afternoon. It’s great that they offer hot items long after the lunch rush is over, but if they’re unappetizing, what’s the point? Go early, or get a sandwich.
