Delicious sandwiches! I love stopping by here to grab lunch. Much better flavor than Num Pang.

Ordered their BBQ pork sandwich. Pork and vegetables smelled and tasted a little not fresh. Didn’t taste good

The only good thing about this place is its empty! Now I know why. The food is sub par. Doesn’t even taste Asian. How do these places stay open?

Unilocaler Rich B.(lunch buddy) has an undying love for bahn mi sandwiches. Being gluten intolerant, I don’t eat sandwiches unless noted GF. The salad I got was absolutely not worth the $ 9 and change. There was a lot of chicken but it was like chewing on sawdust — so dry and tasteless. I asked for no carrots and cilantro, but I don’t think that’s what brought the portion down to a kid’s size meal either. The lettuce was somewhat old — the only thing that was fine was the canned corn in there. By the time I got to the bottom of the bowl, everything was swimming in the basil dressing. Gross. Rich, you’re on your own when you’re going to Boi for your sandwiches.

At first I was happy I stumbled upon this store, I like Bánh mì sandwiches, so I decided to try here. I got the day’s Special Pork Belly(No brainier right) First off the Bread it was well toasted but you could tell it was at-least a day old and not fresh. The veggie were very mildly pickled, Like they simply cut the veggies and add to the brine then and there no real pickling effort went in there. The meat, yes it was very nicely cooked, soft tender and flavorful, my complaint I got 3 Bite size pieces, I kid you not 3, three bite size pieces. For the price for $ 9 ther really skimp on meats, my buddy got the chicken meatball and he too had like 1 and half meatball. I would pay $ 6 heck even $ 7 for this sandwich and be raving about it but for $ 9 they gotta up their game. Will I come back, ya maybe will I suggest it ya they are a definite one time visit but I dont see myself become a regular here.

At first I was overjoyed to find this place in midtown and be able to have a Bahn Mi for lunch instead of having to head down to China Town. I only had the Smoked Duck Bahn Mi. First and foremost was the bread. Isn’t it suppose to be a crunchy, airy Baguette? Well, that’s how all my other were prepared. This was definitely a soft and squishy Hoagie Roll that you find at any deli. Also there was much more bread than filling. All my other Bahn Mi sandwiches were bursting at the seams with the veggies and other ingredients. I had only one piece of if Cilantro and two slices of Jalapeño pepper. I thought the price was high but probably not for midtown. I usually pay $ 5-$ 6 and this was $ 9 All the ingredients tasted fresh and were delicious! The duck didn’t taste like duck but it was very yummy. The service was fast and the employees were super nice! I plan to go back and try some of the other items. I just don’t want another bread sandwich.

Ordered the vegetarian bánh mì sandwich, which was OK. Portion size and flavor was decent, but definitely nothing to write home about. There are much better Vietnamese sandwich options available in NYC. Save your $, and try somewhere else…

It was about two weeks ago. The weather was beautiful and lunchtime was approaching. My work BFF(Teresa) and I were getting hungry. Teresa: Wanna go to pax? Me: nah Teresa: What do you want? Me: Can we just go outside and then decide? Teresa: fine *we go outside* Teresa: We can do Café O, Blue Olive, Hale and Hearty, Cosi, Chipotle, Roti? Me: I don’t know I am just not in the mood for any of those Teresa: What about that Q place? Me: What Q place? Teresa: With the bread, on 43rd and 3rd Me: No clue what you’re talking about, let’s try it At this point, Teresa was actually ready to murder me. I was just praying that we would walk into this«q» place and it would be great We then proceed to go to Le Pain Quotidien and they were charging like $ 16 for a salad(but that’s for another review) so I did an angry walk out. Teresa was so annoyed. I apologized for being annoying and Teresa was like whatever but we are eating at the next place. Two doors down is Boi Sandwich. We walk in. It looks… different. It looks delicious. It looks authentic. It looks like it could be our new go to spot! I order the vegetarian banh mi and she ordered(I think) the vegetarian noodles. We left feeling so happy that we found a new spot. We couldn’t wait to brag about it to all of our coworkers who don’t care. We got back to the office, opened our food and it was… bad. We didn’t want to admit it. We used words like«interesting» and«hard to chew» Finally, we had to face the fact: this place was horrible. Num Pang ftw

No reviews mention the owner? Not so anymore. He seems shrewd, for better and worse. If the sandwiches were cheaper relative to what you get, I’d let that slide. So not shrewd enough? As it is, I don’t know man, if you’re really in the mood for a lot of bread, then– jackpot. It can crowd out the toppings, though what there is seems fresh. Requests for heat can lead to a drippy lunch more sweet than spicy. But, yeah, $ 9 lighter is on the outer limits of worthwhile.

Not even being the only source of Banh mi and Vietnamese iced coffee in this area can save this place. Banh mi was always a little gross but good enough if you absolutely had to have one. Then I received a Banh mi with a giant piece of plastic that appeared to have come from the ham wrapping, complete with the metal staple. Foul. I won’t ever be back.

Take it from a guy who knows absolutely nothing about vietnamese sandwiches, the BBQ pork sandwich is as good as vietnamese sandwiches get.

On of my go to sandwich places in midtown. The Smoked Duck and BBQ pork are out of this world delicious and relatively inexpensive for a midtown lunch. The staff is quick and very welcoming. It’s a pleasure to come back here once a week. I told a few coworkers about this place and they come here all the time now :)

If you find yourself on 3rd Avenue between 44th and 45th Streets and you absolutely must have a Banh Mi sandwich, then this is the place for you. Otherwise, I’d keep it movin’. The service was very friendly, but the sandwich was very underwhelming. Thankfully, my eyes were bigger than my stomach(as usual), and I ordered a side of dumplings. Those were satisfactory and saved this place from the dreaded 1-star review. I thought I had stumbled upon a little hidden gem, but sadly that’s not the case.

Solid hole in the wall Vietnamese spot. They have sandwiches, dumpling, and phở to name a few things of the menu. I had the chicken phở($ 8 something). Decent phở dish that got me warm on a cold day. Decent amount of chicken as well. Will try the dumplings next time.

I had the duck sandwich. I was disappointed. I also tried the lychee drink. It cost 2.50. Way too much. It also didn’t taste very good. Actually the lychee drink was disappointing.

Never again! I can’t believe I paid $ 8.50 for this. I can’t even wrap my head around this sad excuse of a sandwich

A great little food stall. By the sign above the door, I thought maybe it was selling hero sandwiches or something, until I noticed the mention of Vietnamese food on a much smaller sign by the door. You walk up and tell them what you want; for some items, they scoop out of the trays in front of them, not unlike at Chipotle. In a lunch crowd, things can get confused, so double check that you’re getting the right order. The cash register is on the other side of the tiny room from the food. The man there is friendly and a bit chatty, especially by midtown standards. I say get the pork.

3.5 Stars. Definitely a solid effort. I got the veggie banh mi. A few things to note: it has avocado in it, a non-traditional but pleasing addition. It is much bigger than other banh mi sandwiches I’ve had. The summer roll I got on the side ended up being unnecessary. Flavors were solid, and they delivered on the promise of spiciness. The only thing preventing a higher rating is that the sandwich was dripping juices and liquid so much that it formed a puddle in the wrapper as I ate. This also made the bread soggy. Still, tasty overall. The atmosphere inside the take-out only place is dingy and frantic. However, lots of Vietnamese spoken within(I think) was a reassuring sign. The price was also quite reasonable for midtown: $ 8.50 for a full sandwich.
