LOVE this place! Great food, good beer, amazingly nice staff(especially with how crowded it gets). I have been coming here for football games for almost 2 years now and it’s one of my favorite spots. Definitely suggest to anyone looking to just hang, have a beer, and watch some sports.

I am not a «sports person» usually but I was looking for a sports bar near me when I dated a man who was into hockey(don’t ask… LOL) and went to watch the Stanley Cup finals. Found Blue Haven and it is basically a great place. I love how unpretentious it is and how it serves great food(it’s my go-to burger place) and it doesn’t feel like you’re in soho or the village, in a good way meaning it’s not pretentious/brunchy or ridiculously expensive. It’s also a cool place to go where you can find«regular guys» being themselves which is refreshing in a city full of metrosexual hipsters.

Ordered steak and eggs during football brunch. Ordered the steak medium rare; received medium well. The patatas bravas that came underneath it were tomatoey, but missing the kick that makes them bravas. A bunch of hot sauce fixed the lack of kick and masked the very meh steak. Bonus star for diligent service, but mostly for having Sunday Ticket. The broad span of football fans gave the place a really fun energy. I’d go back there to watch games, but with tempered food-related expectations.

Here with friends to watch the Mets in the World Series. Got here nice and early. Team introductions started. Asked if we could get the game sound on because they were still playing music nobody cared about. Bartenders told us no. I pleaded my case. It’s a Mets bar. We want to hear the introductions and the National Anthem. We were told«the owner doesn’t want us to play the National Anthem.» I asked for their boss and the bartender said the owner was at the game. I swear to God you can’t make this shit up. I’m in the Army. This bar can go straight to heck. I’m not going to swear because I’m a gentleman. I will never be back. Edit. The bartender came up to me and gave me shit for writing this review. He was very respectful and listened to my points. He gave me the bar’s point of view and I get it. Even though I don’t agree with it. Bottom line is that this is a great Mets bar. They just need to revise their thinking about the National Anthem. In my opinion.

This is my favorite bar in Manhattan. How do you open another Irish Pub and make it work? Upscale but down to earth, old favorite foods and new twists on old favorites, back it all up with an amazing staff and I plan on being a regular!

Nothing but your regular, overcrowded sports bar. Feels like it belongs in the middle of Murray Hill not in Houston. Waitresses aren’t particularly friendly. Good spot to watch sports with friends

Good atmosphere. The bar wasn’t too crowded, and the tv was big. Overall I would say this is a good place to catch a couple brews on a Monday night!

4.5 stars. Surprises are not always fun. But pleasant surprises are, well, pleasant. Blue Haven, you were a pleasant surprise on Saturday night, and I am very very happy about it. Came here on, you guessed it, Saturday night, with a friend who wanted to have her FIRSTLEGALDRINK! Boy was I honored to be her company for that. But I digress. Unfortunately, this particular Saturday night was rife with college football. I’m not sure I realized how much people care about college football(I’m more of a pro sports girl myself) until this particular night, because our first five or six attempts to get a table at a bar were maddeningly futile. From bar to bar we hopped, hoping that the next would hold greater promise than the last. But alas, we traveled from Chelsea to the West Village to Greenwich Village — we nearly ended up in Soho. It was raining and we were fed up with this nonsense. But Blue Haven to the rescue! We were able to get a table here *just* before the BRORUSH and we were finally content. Blue Haven is a decently-sized bar with plenty of tables — while I’ve only ordered dinner-type food here, I get the sense that it’s just as much an eatery as it is a bar. The back room has a couple of tables and dart boards if you want to get your bar game on. We actually wanted to watch baseball, and while most of the TVs were showing college football, a few were saved for baseball. No shortage of TVs here — props for that. Our waitress got on our good side immediately, as she shooed a small group of people who were just using a table for a drink rest. So we got a seat pretty quickly, and got to draaaanks. The waitress became more overjoyed than we were upon finding out that my friend had just turned 21 — she couldn’t contain her excitement, and it was awesome. There’s a fine line with enthusiasm — it can be endearing up to a certain extent, and past that line it’s aggravatingly irritating. She struck just the right balance. We both went with Belgian beers for the night(as I always do). ANOTHERPRO: Despite not being any sort of craft beer establishment, they serve their beers in the correct glasses. My Delirium came in a Delirium glass, my friend’s Allagash White came in its proper glass, and all was well. Beer and cocktail menus are both far above-average as far as sports bars go. Very impressed. Now, we had worked up and appetite from all of that walking, so food was necessary. This is definitely what I’d call an upscale bar menu. Not your average pub grub. They have a great variety of options here. You’ve got your typical burgers and wings deal, but there are plenty of other options. I got the Black Bean & Quinoa Burger w/lime aioli, Bloody orange BBQ, queso fresco, brioche. One of the best veggie burgers I’ve had in a while. Our waitress was quite confident that we’d be impressed with the quality of the food here, and we were not mistaken. Both of us cleaned our plates. My burger was flavorful and creative, and the brioche was indeed fresh. I’m semi-addicted to looking up menus prior to restaurant visits, and I didn’t get to do this ritual before eating here. But I was not penalized — in fact, the food here was probably better than anything I would’ve ordered elsewhere that night(we were looking for sports bars with good bar food). Just a note on the crowd: definitely bro-y and loud. But we didn’t mind in the slightest. We happened to be seated close to the majority of the TVs, so the noise was warranted. If you get a table closer to the back of the bar, you’ll be able to hear yourselves talk a bit more. One of the best sports bars I’ve ever to. A haven indeed!

Good crowd, nice cold beer(not too pricey for this area), nice server, good food. Excited to come back for happy hour now that I know this place is here!

Very Chill sports bar with lots of TVs. Really like the fries, burgers and other bar fare. The bartenders are great too. Definitely check this place out.

Fun divey sports bar on Houston with plenty of TVs to watch any sports game you like. Large selection of beers and delicious food. Our large group took over the back room and ordered drinks, nachos, wings, sliders, fries and everything was delicious. Great place to come with a group for some casual laid-back food and fun.

Damn, this is pricey* bar food for what’s more of a dive than a gastropub. The new staffer was completely thrown by my asking if they still accepted LevelUp(they’ve had a $ 2 credit since forever); manager said they didn’t and went on a fairly long rant about why they stopped(maybe remove the sticker from the doorway, folks). They had a Unilocal ad for«Lunch Mon-Fri 11AM-3PM $ 2 Off!» which doesn’t help much, but maybe the free soup with Unilocal checkin would. Staff was nice enough in dishing out the $ 18 pulled pork nachos(yes, $ 18). Come for the drinks during the 8-hour happy hour.

I came here for Brunch. Initially we tried to eat at Jane next door but they had an hour wait and we were on a time crunch to catch our flights as well… so we walked a few doors down and found this little gem! We sat by the front door on the high top tables people watching through the window. I ordered the Stuffed French Toast mascarpone cheese, blueberry syrup with a side of bacon. The side of bacon was larger than I expected and it was the BOMB and super crunch. The french toast was cooked just right and it was light and fluffy.

A tiny dive with one waitress and one cook. A bar, 10TV’s and a cozy feel on a wet blustery day. Nothing extraordinary; basics but not bad. Didn’t anticipate coming here, but the price was right and the portions were plenty. The waitress was New York-sweet and the salmon with roasted cauliflower was delicious.

Solid place for lunch. We stopped in on a Tuesday just as they were opening for the day. This is definitely your typical sports bar/restaurant environment in the Greenwich Village/Soho area. Lots of tvs to watch sporting events on. It was empty when we arrived and we ended up having the restaurant to ourselves while dining here. My husband ordered the chicken & biscuits which came with 2 eggs his way(scrambled) and sausage gravy. He seemed to like but mentioned a taste of sage that was overwhelming. I went with the shrimp burger which was dressed with lemon aioli, lettuce and pickled onions and came with a side of fries. I wasn’t a fan of lemon aioli. For the most part, our experience was ok. We were seated facing the bar and all I could witness was our waitress at the bar talking to the manager/owner the entire time about work stuff I guess. Service was ok. Nothing extraordinary, just ok. The menu can get a little pricey. If you order under«Specialties», prices range from $ 14 – 22. I would recommend sticking to the salad and sandwich section if you don’t want to break the bank. This place would be great for Happy Hour. There are plenty of appetizer choices for sharing.

A little on the pricey side for what it is, but the food is damn near perfect. Had the Kobe Beef Sliders(a special menu item, not an everyday) which were incredible. The carmelized onions worked perfectly with the flavor and juiciness of the meat. For $ 14, it could’ve used another slider — only three came with the meal — but that’s the only complaint I have about it. Definitely made me want to come back and try their full-sized burger when I’m a little hungrier. Good drink list too, and all drinks are $ 2 off during Happy Hour.

Always enjoy coming here! Friendly staff, fare prices, and great food! Not much else to say! Sampled almost all the dishes and enjoyed every last one to the last drop. If I had to pick I would say the BH burger, pan seared salmon filet or chicken and biscuits. You get a feeling of comfortability and friendship when you walk in the bar! Always greeted with a hello and left with a gracious bye!

This is the perfect place to watch sports. There are TVs placed at all angles so it does not matter where you stand or sit you can see a TV. They have a happy hour until 8pm with $ 2 off all drinks, which works for their beer selection but doesn’t do too much if you are a wine drinker. I got a stoli vodka with soda and it was $ 7 with the $ 2 off, so expensive if off happy hour. The food is really good for bar food. We had the mussels and a burger. Both were cooked well and the sauce that came with the mussels was tasty and not too watery like many mussels I have had. The burger had an ample amount of mushrooms on top and a good amount of fries. We wanted to try the wings and nachos as they were coming out of the kitchen looking good but we were stuffed. I probably will come back here but only during happy hour times as the drinks are a little too overpriced for where you are.

Great spot to watch sports — Screens high up everywhere, great pulled pork nachos and fries(and I hear the wings are good too), and a solid selection of beer with individual dispensers for big groups(much better than pitchers). If you’re a group of 15 – 25 ppl, consider booking the back room for your group.
