I’ll admit I came in with low expectations but it was so convenient I took a chance. Friendly staff and surprisingly good Ceaser with chicken. Is go out of my way for that salad. Very nice surprise.

The service stands out in my mind as one of the greatest. The second thing that stands out. the bathroom is 25 steps to the basement. Aside from that, the food was good and the service was amazing. The waitress even offered us a 2nd round if drinks because our food was delayed. I didn’t think it was taking that long, but who am I to turn down a free round ;-)

Used a groupon here for dinner. We had to make reservations here but when we got there on a Sat night the place was nearly empty and a lot smaller than we expected. Food was bland the presentation on the plate was very sloppy. My tuna steak looked and tasted a bit like sweet meatloaf. Glad we didn’t pay full price for our meal. Saving grace for this place was their glass rooftop where we went for drinks afterward.

When I wrote this review I was at the restaurant. I’m currently at the restaurant waiting this review. My friends and I decided to head to NYC for the weekend. We decided to go to this restaurant and made 8:00 reservations. When we arrived it was loud and packed. The host amid manager told us there is a short wait. She offered to buy us a sound of drinks so we thought that’s fine. There were two smaller table that cold have been put together for our party but they didn’t do that but continued to seat smaller parties. It’s now 9pm and it looks like they are finally going to seat us.

We bought a livingsocial deal for a hotel stay at Hotel Indigo, along with dinner at Blu Restaurant and bottle service at Glass Bar for four people. Oh boy… so we made reservations for 8 pm for 6 people weeks prior. On the night of the dinner, we waited more than an hour AFTER our reservation to be seated. The restaurant itself was small and incredibly loud. By the time we were seated, we were hungry and cranky. Four of us ordered off of a pre fix menu and the other two ordered from the regular menu. For appetizers, we tried the calamari and sliders. Calamari was rubbery and heavy. The sliders were okay; as small as they were, I could barely finish one on my own — too dry. Bf got the pork chop and I got the steak. I got the sweet potato fries with my steak. The steak was chewy and tough. I actually gave up on it and just ate the fries. My bf liked the pork chop but I thought the sauce was weird. I wasn’t a fan of the crab cake sandwich either. Food was definitely not worth the value. After dinner, we went upstairs to the Glass Bar. While it had a nice view, the crowd and music were not our type.

The restaurant is pretty cute with some paintings on the wall and it was empty and quiet which I actually enjoyed. The glass wall is a nice touch, although it doesn’t give you a great view or anything. Service was slow but friendly. As for food, we had calamari, steak, and pork chop, the portion was large and everything was delicious(pork chop was a bit too sweet tho). Unfortunately, there wasn’t anything special that would make me come back to this alienated place.

It’s CLOSED. As of 10−6−12 the place is called«China Latina» and has a totally different menu and has changed staff. They were doing interviews in the dining room when we walked in to their soft opening as the new place. See my review for the new business. The place gets one star because the hotel and restaurant and their website were totally uncoordinated in the transition.

It’s a hotel restaurant. It looks like a hotel restaurant. It tastes like a hotel restaurant. So the food is decent and service seemed overwhelmed on that particular night. You have to go to the lobby and down the elevator to use the rest rooms. Don’t think I am coming back here.

The moscato sangria is delicious. The interior is just OK. Went on a Friday night and the atmosphere was chill. Not really a place for dancing.

So I came here on a groupon deal, and I have to say that some groupons have turned out to be shady or disappointing. This one was great. The food portions were not redic small– but a very filling size. The calamari was ok, Cobb salad was excellent and the steak was good as well. For desert, I recommend the chocolate cake. It’s great, and served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. I normally wouldn’t come here, given its a bit pricey, food didn’t totally wow me, and the ambiance is nothing memorable. However, I did have a great experience.

My friend bought a Groupon deal and we decided to finally try the place. Overall it wasn’t bad at all. For sure, our bartender who was also our waiter was pleasant and we had excellent service. Not too sure if it was because it was a Tuesday, it was much more slower so service was definitely a plus. I had the calamari for app and it was a good portion size and filling. It was also crispy. For my main entrée, I ordered a steak strip sandwich and my friend had the NY steak. When we got our food we were pretty surprised by the portion. Also, their menu doesn’t do them justice. We weren’t expecting so much food because the menu tend to lack the other ingredients that came with the steak. Mines came with fries and my friend had spinach and roasted potato. We were a little disappointed when we found out they didn’t have any tirimisu left. BUT I was surprised how good the«chocolate cake» was. Let me tell you, it didn’t look like a chocolate cake to me, it looked more like a chocolate molten cake with a side of vanilla ice cream. Again the menu was really too general. But overall, it was a good experience coming from a deal online.

I’m actually not quite sure what to say about this restaurant. I don’t not like it but it’s definitely not a place I would be sure to come back to within the next 6 months or year. Overall I think the décor is pleasant. Kind of edgy and sleek, so it looks like somewhere young hot twenty somethings, professional 30’s or your still very cool and with it aunt or uncle would go. Our waiter was very nice and was doing his best to attend to our table(5 girls for a bachelorette party) But it almost seemed like he was the only waiter in the area. If you werent able to make eye contact with him or give a little base to your«excuse me» to grab attention, it may take a while for your request. They offer a prefix menu(which I think was a part of a groupon deal) and a larger regular menu. What I did like was that the dishes seemed as if they were tyring to mix fusion with familiarity. There was no drink menu apparently but I was told they could make virtually any dirnk I requested. I ordered a Caipirinha and although it looked good, I was not thrilled with it. I did like my appetizer of coconut shrimp. It’s always nice to get this dish and actually TASTE the shrimp you ordered and not massive breading. It was a realy nice balance of breading, shrimp and coconut flavor. The sauce they serve with it is delicious as well. For dinner I ordred seared tuna with sauteed mushrooms. I don’t remember if I just skipped over the part about artichokes being involved, but they were. I am a fan of artichokes so was excited regardless, but I really am not sure it was the best thing to mix with the dish. My tuna was just ok. I always order it seared rare, and it was(I suppose) but the odd thing was, it came out looking like chicken breast. I had never seen seared tuna served this way and unfortunately it made the edges a bit dry and overcooked for fish. The outer portion of the tuna was firmer than normal but the center was soft and pinkish. Like I said in the beginning, not sure I’d be in a rush to come back here so soon, but I would give it a second try one day.

I too came here with the Groupon. They have a special menu specifically for the Groupon deal, but the selection is still broad enough for anyone. This is a hotel restaurant with a very small dining area(maybe 10 tables?) and it sits right up to the kitchen as well. There isn’t much in the area of décor, just kind of normal I guess. The food was OK. It wasn’t good or bad. The wine was OK, again, not anything special. Service was pretty good, and we were served fairly quickly. At the end of the meal they give you a check that has the price that it would have been without the Groupon. Ours came to $ 126. Although it was an average outing for $ 40, I would have been pissed if I had paid full price for it. I’ve had better food at Applebee’s.

My girlfriend couldn’t cut the pork chop. Seriously! She’s short and thin but it was hard. I tried too! Stay away… Even with a groupon

I bought a groupon here. 3 course meal + a drink each for only 40 dollars. GREATDEAL!!! Blu Restaurant is located in a hotel, which make it feels like a high end restaurant. the environment is pretty good. romantic and quiet. but it’s pretty casual. Groupon has a fix menu. so we start of with calamari and cobb salad… calamari was pretty good… dip with the sauce that they serve with dash of lemon. it’s really normal but good to enjoy… the cobb salad should include avocado but I can’t taste any of it. it’s a little salty. Normal to enjoy. not amazing. Bacon was crispy tho… that’s my favorite. Entrée, Medium well new york strip steak and pork chop. steak was cook perfectly. a little pink in the middle, with some potato. will give it 4 stars. but I think they should present the steak in a better way. It looks kinda«cheap» to me. but good to enjoy. Pork chop was cooked with pineapple sauce and pineapple chunks on it. served with spinach and sweet potato… It’s good. but the pork looks like the pork I might be able to get in Target/Walmart. and the texture is too hard to enjoy. but the taste was pretty ok. Dessert… Not much option to choose. I wouldn’t want a cappuccino or an espresso as my dessert… And since the groupon included a drink. It doesn’t make sense for me to order a dessert wine again. So we ordered tiramisu and chocolate cake. Both were good. above average to enjoy. I kinda hope that the chocolate that melt out from the chocolate cake is warm. I guess this is why they call chocolate cake instead of warm chocolate cake. Portion is huge. the experience was up to average. only complain is they should include more desserts instead of coffee and wine. and more wine selection… the wine that they served, I think I might be able to get it in Trader Joes for less than 10 dollars. and for the whole bottle. We went up to the rooftop bar. the building is not tall enough. nothing much on the rooftop bar… There isn’t a view. so we decided to head back…

The food was delicious, however the waiter we had said it was his first time so he was a little nervous. We spoke Spanish with him, putting him at ease. There was a photographer there getting stock shots of the place and their food, and they happen to take photos of our bruschetta appetizer, which would have been OK, except the fact they forgot to serve us our appetizer after they filmed it. We were there on a Monday night, so it was pretty empty, which was nice since it gave us a chance to enjoy the décor.

Had lunch here yesterday with an old friend. Atmosphere: Nice. Service: Competent. Food: Blah. We had: Bruschetta(terrible). How do you fuck up bruschetta? Zucchini flowers(good). Spinach salad(nasty). Grilled salmon(good). Risotto di funghi(okay). Apple tart with ice cream(good). Although we had a great time catching up and imbibing in some decent red wine, I certainly wouldn’t return. Mentioning Unilocal did nothing for the check either but that’s fine. I don’t trip the small stuff.

If I could give 3.5 I would, because the food was legitimately good and the service was great. My only problem here was I just didn’t feel like I was in a NY restaurant. The atmosphere was… meh… definitely disappointing, and please don’t think I’m Mr. Trendy, cause I’m not. My Salmon was amazing and my friend’s NY Strip was superb. Salads, broccolini and wine were A-OK. I just felt like I was in a suburban restaurant… Will go back and re-review because the food was that good. Til next time!

This restaurant definitely surprised me on the upside. Nice décor and it wasn’t too loud or too quiet. Contemporary classical music was playing in the background. Lighting wasn’t too dark or too bright. Service was decent. Came here with a couple of girl friends so we just shared everything. With everything we tried, the bill was pretty cheap per person(for NYC standards). Food: Scallops crudo with mango — the scallops were very fresh and the mango/lime was a good touch to cut out any sort of fishiness Mushrooms with poached egg and swiss chard — the swiss chard was a bit too salty but the mushrooms were a good dish to start off the meal Agnolotti(half-moon shaped pasta similar to ravioli) with butternut squash and brown sugar with shaved parmesan — semi sweet pasta that’s easy to share Cheese tortellini with red tomato sauce — fairly good Sole on top of lentils — the fish was very well seasoned and had that fresh hearty taste Apple tart — the pastry on the tart was slightly doughy the way I like it. I didn’t care too much for the ice cream on top. Chocolate cake — Way too chocolatey and rich for me, but I liked the white chocolate on top The sole was by far the best dish I tried.

Wow WoW wOw, what a delicious steak!!! 5-star!!! One of the best steaks I had in NY!!! It was so good that my friend and I just stared at each other and nodded silently in apparent agreement after our first bite. The steak was cooked perfect medium-rare, and it was marinated so flavorfully that we didn’t need to add anything! We wanted to have dinner near MSG before we go to Muse concert(which was super awesome, btw!!!), so I did a quick Unilocal search and found this place. After reading the reviews and learning about 10% Unilocal discount, I was convinced that this place will be good. And boy was I right! The décor is posh and tasteful, I love the chandeliers!!! Great ambiance! And the price is surprisingly very reasonable too. But what made our experience here even better was our fun, friendly, attentive and informative server, Nate. I wanna give him 5 stars for his excellent service! He gives very honest and good recommendations, and is not pushy at all. Too bad he had to work that day, sorry he missed Muse! LOL!!! Besides the fabulous steak, my favorite was the Agnolotti di Zucca! The sweetness of the butternut squash and the saltiness of the brown butter sauce went so perfectly together, mamma mia, it’s the best butternut squash agnolotti I had since my last trip to Parma! As for bite-size bruschette, I wasn’t too keen on Fagioli Escarole Asiago, but Truffle Honey Ricotta had a more fun and interesting flavor. good food + great ambiance + good service + reasonable price = Jewel approved! This place is going to be my favorite restaurant!
