I got the chocolate chip… I absolutley loved it. It was really soft and warm on the inside, but crunchy on the outside. I don’t know what kind of magic they’re using in there. A little expensive($ 3.50 a cookie?), but it’s worth the experience… and the cookies are huge so they get a hall pass on that. It also inspires me to only get one so I guess that’s good too.

I stumbled across this place because I love the hole in the wall hidden gems, this place is really great. I had the fresh mozzarella pesto panini and it was so good! The chocolate chip cookie was delicious and so was the salted pretzel croissant! I highly recommend going here.

Stopped by on a whim when shopping because the bakery is just adorable! Super small on the inside, so definitely a grab and go place, but also full of locally made goods like honey and jam. I bought a bottle of locally sourced honey and a chocolate chip cookie. The cookie came out to $ 3.75 or so and it was very, very good! Lots and lots of butter but soft on the inside and just slightly crunchy on the outside. It was also on the larger side and super satisfying. However, it was nothing too spectacular but it did hit the spot. The bakery was close to closing so they did not have all their baked goods out, but I would come back to try the pretzel croissant.(3.5÷5)

Excellent salads. Chicken, kale and corn is delicious. The orzo salad is phenomenal! The cherry jam is also yummy! I brought cookies as a present and people loved it. The pretzel croissant was salty and not my fav. Otherwise its a winner!!!

The old Vesuvio Bakery with the awning still touting Vesuvio, I walked right by the place. Once I did a u-turn, I wasn’t disappointed. The piles of cookies were very inviting. I had already had lunch otherwise I would have tried some of the incredible looking and smelling salads and breads they also have. Always looking for a good chocolate chip cookie, i bought several to bring home. The whole family gave the cookies 4 stars. They were soft and rich. With a bit more salt and a chocolate that was a bit more sweet, I would’ve given it 5 stars, but they were very good cookies.

The chocolate chip cookies looked delicious, but if you can’t warm up a cookie… what are ya’ll doing selling cookies?! Overall, average cookie.

Small place with lots of flavor. First off, employees are sweet and don’t push you to buy anything. Eager to help and better yet… they give you samples! All the food tastes like it’s fresh(cause it’s made fresh daily), coffee comes from La Colombe(yay), and the Mac and cheese is INCREDIBLE. Cookies-I’ve found-don’t really taste that good… but that may just be me. Also, they’re $ 3.50 each and that’s pushing it for me. You can get a box for $ 9 and they pack it with as many things you want. Unfortunately you can’t combine sandwiches with this box: if you get a sandwich, you’re charged for that then also the $ 9 for the box. Only reason I didn’t give five stars: price. They could bring it down a little, or maybe even offer a neighborhood discount.

Overall a pretty small selection of pastries, but what they sell they do a great job on. The food is a higher quality then your typical bakery. The inside is very minimalist in terms of design and décor which helps add to the brand of the company. It is a small but welcoming bakery that produces quality pastries and cookies. Very friendly staff.

First time here. I had $ 5 credit for Birdbath Bakery with Level Up. Came in with sis and I ordered 2 of the chocolate chip cookies. OMG they were huge and had loads of chocolate chunks. One of the best chocolate chips I’d tried in the city.

I had the pleasure of stumbling in here accidentally not knowing t was actually on my list of places I hoped to find on my New York list when I traveled over the past long weekend. I noticed the delicious and huge cookies in the window and I was especially hungry and absolutely frozen. The shop had two friendly people working and unfortunately no seats due to two children being there but I was so happy to be in from the cold and savouring the cookie. I’m so sad I will not have one until I make my way to New York again and will definitely recommend the place to others. If I wasn’t specifically hungry I would have gotten the hot chocolate. The salads also looked divine !

The best chocolate chips I’ve ever had. Crunchy outside, soft inside. They’re pricey but they’re so worth it. I took my brother here once when he was in town, and now every time he comes back he makes it a mission to stop by. He seriously bought 12 cookies to take home last time he was here. Bottom line, they’re great. Get one.

Small place but since they where about to close they gave me 3 cookies for the price of one. I do love me some chocolate chip cookies and these were good. I like soft cookies and these he moist insides with a crunchy outside. I asked the girl behind the counter how they cooked them, and she said it was a secret. Whatever it is, I was pretty happy on my walk around soho.

So I’ve been on a food mashup streak. I’ve been looking for places that does mashup food and I came upon this place, which makes a pretzel croissant. The texture is basically a soft pretzel exterior and a croissant interior. I took a bit into it, and my tastebuds were slightly confused. The salt definitely throws you off. After the second and third bit, you get use to it. It had a great balance of crunchiness and flakiness. I did think it was a little too salty for my taste. I also think it would have tasted a lot better if it was warmed up rather than room temperature. Overall, I did enjoy it and glad I tried it at least once, but it was a very simple, ordinary pastry.

In an area seeping with chilly pretension, Birdbath Bakery is a warm little oasis. They have the cozy charm and friendly faces of a small European bakery, while matching the quality of any of the overpriced coffee shops NYC has to offer. As a grad student who works from home many Fridays, I often roll out of bed for my morning coffee looking a bit less than SoHo Chic. In the one block walk to Birdbath, I’m bound to pass at least a handful of impeccably dressed professionals/pseudo-models that inevitably make me question some of my fundamental life decisions, like deciding to be in school until I’m 30, or not to shower that morning. What I love about Birdbath is that I never feel judged for my shabbiness. They are always friendly, playful, and sweet. To some, this may be entirely irrelevant, but in my opinion the power of a pleasant interaction with a stranger should not be underestimated. As for the coffee and food: the cold brew is nutty and mild, and at 3 bucks for 16 oz cheaper than almost any other place I’ve found including Starbucks. The baked goods are mouth-wateringly good: for savory, go with the buttery, slightly salty pretzel croissant. For something a bit sweeter, the blueberry corn muffin is fresh and crumbly without feeling like you’re eating a cupcake for breakfast. Overall, while I love New York, sometimes you can feel like a cog in a super rich and pretty machine. This bakery makes you feel okay being just a human being.

I was so disappointed to walk in and see only one small bench of chit-chatters not even eating hogging up the seats. I was also quickly disappointed to see no menu and a dwindling selection. I was also saddened to hear their infamous(see pics!) hot cocoa was only a winter creation. Thankfully the staff were friendly and said the menu changes too often to have one so they explained each item to me. No prices are given though. So I opted for a small mini carrot cake and a fudge brownie(that looked more like a blonde). Either way, two bites later & $ 8 down they were gone. Delicious but way too small and overpriced although given location they are reasonably priced I suppose. And no where to sit so I had to walk & eat. Don’t think I’ll be back, so many other great cafes out there to try and enjoy instead.

The birdbath in soho is cleverly hidden behind a green storefront that does not say birdbath on it. It’s right next to the juice press and hard to miss with all the cookies in the window! It’s a tiny little store, but adorable nonetheless. The store offers an array of pastries and lunch choices. They usually have some sort of salad, pasta, and sandwich available. They also usually have one or two cookie options and a few breads. I love their sea salt chocolate chip cookie. It’s super chewy and the bit of salt is a nice touch. It is pretty sweet so I don’t mind sharing with a friend. I’ve also had their hot chocolate on a few occasions and I’m not the biggest fan. It’s extremely thick, so thick that it’s almost like drinking straight up, melted chocolate. Doesn’t float my boat, but I know people who love it. Love the place, have always had a pleasant experience, but it’s a bit too pricey for my taste!

It’s a great little shop on the east side of Prince Pastries and salads(not just the veggies, but also spaghetti and rice) The reason that I deducted a star is because of the price: I bought 2 cookies and it’s $ 8… Didn’t realized till now how expensive they are. Also, they use city bakery’s wax paper bags so idk if they are a part of them? My cookie tastes yummy. The edge is crispy and the middle is soft. Idk if it’s because it was sitting on my desk that made it crispy or it is still the way it was made No sitting area in the shop.

All you need to know is that they sell the incredible Pretzel Croissants and Cookies from City Bakery. This is a tiny new location that just opened, with no seating, and just a small counter with the good stuff on display. The Pretzel Croissants they sell here are mini versions, for $ 4, but are every bit as amazing as their original, larger counterparts at the mothership location in the Flatiron. They also sell junior size versions of the Baker’s Muffin, which is also excellent, but if you are going to get something other than the Pretzel Croissant(which would be a mistake, so get something in addition to that), then it should be the excellent cookies. Go for the Chocolate Chip, which is one of the best in NYC. I feel like not enough people realize they can get these amazing things here without having to go to City Bakery. If they did, this location should do very well.
