Beyond Bespoke Alterations

Maybe this is a problem with Unilocal.It says you can request a quote. However, I wasn’t given anything more than a curt, vague response when I asked for an estimate, i.e. «Thanks for contacting us. It all depends. Bye!» I get that tailoring a suit could involve any number of alterations, but I don’t think it’s too hard to throw out some examples. Watch: «Shortening sleeves usually runs _​_​_​_​dollars, taking in the waist could be anywhere from _​_​_​to _​_​_​depending on _​_​_​_​, and hemming pants is _​_​_​_​dollars.» I contacted another tailor immediately afterward and was given a straightforward estimate within minutes. I can only imagine what other questionable customer service Beyond Bespoke provides. Happy that I don’t have to find out.

Beyond Bespoke is incredible. I recently moved to NYC and needed to have multiple dresses and skirts taken from a size 4 to a size 0. You would never know that the extra fabric ever existed. They are very detail oriented and attentive. It’s not inexpensive, but you certainly get what you pay for with alternations, and to me, their work is totally worth the price.
I have a bridesmaids dress coming in soon and rather than have it altered at the bridal shop, I’m taking it here, that’s how confident I am that I’ll be 100% happy with the final product!

ABSOLUTE PERFECTION!!! I needed a last minute alteration for the skirt I was wearing to graduation (meaning I was already stressed about a million things and needed the skirt to be perfect ASAP). I brought the skirt in Monday afternoon. The skirt had a complicated lace design. I needed the waist taken in.
I picked up the skirt Wednesday afternoon and it was exquisite. Beyond Bespoke really made my special day even more amazing. And the price was incredibly reasonable. I need a lot of alterations done (#bigbootyproblems lol). I will definitely, definitely be back.

I went here to get my wedding dress altered. It was a fairly complicated one, and I wasn’t totally sure what I wanted when I went in — although it took 3 or 4 visits to get what I was going after, Nick and his staff were incredibly friendly and more than happy to keep making tweaks until it was just right. I find getting anything expensive altered very stressful, plus this had the added pressure of a wedding dress and a quick timeframe, so I can’t say I found the experience particularly joyful — but I can’t imagine how terrible it would have been without Nick’s calm and warm demeanor, and the ability to keep coming back until I loved the results.
I bought a not-​technically-​bridal dress from Bloomie’s that needed sleeves taken off, plus the bodice part was just kinda too big, plus it needed hemming on the skirt plus an underskirt thing. They ended up doing the hem plus sleeves, plus taking in the side of the bodice, plus lowering the neckline, plus making the back of the dress from a full back to a v-​back. (Phew!) I do think there are some things I would have done differently if I did it again — part of the initial adjustments included taking the straps up some, which made the waist of the dress sit a bit higher than I think was ultimately flattering for me. BUT, I was the one requesting the changes (see: didn’t really know what I was going for!), and all my requests were executed promptly and cleanly. So, I blame myself for that. I wanted a hook-​and-​eye closure, but after asking to have it redone once or twice, it ultimately just didn’t work — it was pulling at the fabric no matter where it was placed — so we took it out and I didn’t miss it (or get charged for it!). On my wedding day I felt 100% comfortable and confident in the dress — no stress about anything coming undone or sitting awkwardly/​shifting around on my body as I moved — so I call that a win.
The work definitely wasn’t cheap, though I think it’s comparable to other tailors — and it was quality work, with a generous promise of «we’ll keep going until you’re happy» which they absolutely came through on for me. Now that I’ve seen how much better things fit after tailoring, I’ll definitely be back here again.

These owners and the entire team of tailors here are amazing. I have never been to such an attentive and professional tailoring place in my life. I got my wedding dress fitted here and it was by far a better value and fit than I ever expected. The talent and instincts of the tailors here are spot on, and I’m so grateful for their feedback, advice and high quality work. Multiple people at the wedding said it looked like the dress had been made for me. Every time you walk in the door you’re greeted warmly and I never waited once. Everyone is so kind and attentive and thinks of every detail. I give them my highest recommendation!

Just had two pieces of clothing done here– service is really great. One piece was a designer dress that I needed taken in and they did a great job, and the other was a bridesmaid dress that I needed hemmed. I ended up getting a little more hemmed off the bridesmaid dress, which was no issue for them, was perfect when I came back a week later. Prices do seem a little pricey so I may look around before I get something else hemmed, but I did enjoy their work and would recommend if you don’t mind the price. I myself could likely back!

This place is the real deal. Great service, zero wait and tons of personal attention. I brought in a new suit and a few pairs of pants to be hemmed. They ended up suggesting some additional alterations to the pants and they look amazing. This is not getting your pants hemmed at the dry cleaners. As far as the suit goes, I have honestly never had a better fit. Be prepared to spend more than you anticipated, but also be prepared to be satisfied with the result. Thanks Nick & Co. You guys nailed it.

They are always very busy but do great work, with a keen eye for detail. They did my tux for a major gala for work and it came out perfectly.

I’v been here to get 3 garments altered. I’ve altered a blazer and a suit pants on 2 separate occasions. It’s the first time I’ve been to a tailor to get clothes altered and they made a good first impression.
The garments were altered nicely. For my jacket, the sleeve were shortened and the buttons were stitched back on in a standard array, however, I preferred them to be arranged in a kissing orientation. This was happily done at my request. I also made a specific request to have a certain stitch reinforced and this was done with no hesitation.
As for the pants, the waist and seat needed extra attention due to my «figure» and was done nicely.
All in all, I’m happy with their work and as such, I’ve sent in a suit to be altered. The pants has to be let out at the waist/​seat and hemmed. The jacket needs, for want of a better description, a lot of work… Due to the nature and degree of alterations that needed to be made on the jacket, I spend a considerable length of time fitting it. Although I was being a bit obnoxious with my requests, Nick was still very patient with me. He said that it was a straight forward process.
The prices are a little higher than other tailors that I’ve researched within the area, however, Nick guarantees the work for 6 months, even if you change weight, to which I am VERY impressed. Also, there’s Unilocal deals for $ 10 and $ 15 which helps!

Excellent service and craftsmanship on the part of Bespoke! Nick is a great guy and always shows his appreciation for repeat business! What more can I say… never have to worry about the quality of work with professionals like Nick and his crew!

I somehow got a tear on a $ 400 jacket I just bought and was desperate to have it fixed before my clumsy ass made the tear bigger. I found these guys, went in (short notice) expecting to drop the jacket off and pick it up later in the day or tomorrow. The younger guy in the office was super helpful and I was actually able to wait while they hooked it up right there on the spot.
In and out! Plus the job they did was top notch.
Would definitely recommend these guys.

Excellent!!! Such a great job with a tent of a jacket that I went in with… Came out looking perfect, and yet the gave more options to improve from there if I wanted but I needed same day and time wouldn’t permit.
No pressure, super helpful and friendly service, and a follow up small change the tailor insisted on when I went to pick my jacket up even though they were closing. They definitely earn every great review they have.

So glad I found this place a few years ago. Nick and his staff exemplify what a good tailor should be.

Started coming here on the recommendation of my brother, who admittedly does much more in terms of tailoring and alterations than I do. But Nick, Michelle and everyone here are fantastic. And have brought suits, pants, and jeans here now.
The process was easy, the work was excellent, and they are just good people. And the customer service has been great. I know if I had ever did have issue with something, which I haven’t, they would work extremely hard to fix it. Great service, great product, and great people. Wouldn’t go anywhere else.

I came to Bespoke less than three weeks before my best friends wedding in a tizzy. The online bridesmaid dress vendor had sent me the wrong sized dress and refused to do anything about it. I was stuck with a dress that wouldn’t zip up. Michelle took one look at my near-​tears face and assured me that everything would be okay — and boy did they take care of me.
It only took two fittings for the dress to be fixed, and it looks great. Kelly did a fabulous job. I think they finished everything in about 5 days. You can’t even tell that the dress was let out. Was it expensive? Yes, but that’s the nature of formal wear alterations to the extent that I needed. They were nice enough to give me a small discount and reminded me of the Unilocal deal, too.
Hopefully I’ll never need alterations that extensive again, but I will definitely be back with all my tailoring needs. A lifesaver.

I was a bridesmaid in my sister’s wedding and used these guys to shorten the hem of my dress. I was happy with the result and most everyone who I worked with were very nice to me. 1 of the women (she was Caucasian but I didn’t get her name) was not as nice to me, but maybe she was just grumpy that day?
Nick and Michelle were very friendly and helpful and I had a good experience here. Seamstress was also very nice. Length of dress was exactly as promised.
Prices weren’t cheap, but using a Unilocal deal did help! (price was around $ 105 I think but I had a $ 25 Unilocal deal so I paid about $ 85 total)

Had raincoat sleeves shortened here and two pairs of pants hemmed.
They did a great job — 100% satisfied.
Not exactly cheap though. $ 20 per pair of pants to be hemmed. $ 35 per sleeve for the raincoat.
Recommend this place but it helps to purchase the Unilocal deal.
The door is a bit hard to spot and you have to ring the doorbell to be let in.
Service is friendly.

We had a great experience at Beyond Bespoke. My husband came here to get his jacket altered, and they went above and beyond to make this as smooth an experience as possible. I note that they did make a tailoring error twice, but were quick and friendly in acknowledging and rectifying error.
One of the things that stands out about Beyond Bespoke is how friendly everyone is. They are super warm, open, and eager to please. This makes the communication process very easy and straightforward.
The tailoring. They did a good job, and made sure that the alternations were as invisible as possible. No complaints about the final product here. Also, I wanted to note that my husband requested that they add an inside pocket to his jacket. Not only did they add a pocket, but also gave it a nice accent at the top.
The errors. Beyond Bespoke made 2 errors. The first time, they forgot to do one piece of the alternation. They quickly remeasured my husband and hand-​delivered the piece to us the same afternoon. Unfortunately, the correction was still not quite right. So, we went back the next day, pointed out the error, and had the final piece in our hands about an hour later. Beyond Bespoke is not perfect, but we were really impressed by how easy and straightforward the correction process was.
Price was not cheap but also not too expensive. They took in the sleeve cuffs, shorted the sleeves a bit, and added a front inside pocket for $ 75. We forgot to use the Unilocal deal but will do so next time!
One tip for finding this place — you’ll need to go into a tiny door between the Via Italia and Ipanema restaurants. When you get to the door, just ring the bell and walk up to the second floor.

I’ve never really had great experiences with Tailors in the past, but Nick and his team at Beyond Bespoke really killed it. I had my wedding suit altered at Beyond Bespoke and could not have been happier with the results and overall experience.
You get really great service from the moment you arrive until you’re 100% satisfied with their work.
Prices seem fair and in line with other tailors I scoped out, but I really felt like I was actually coming out ahead in the end given how great the service was, and obviously the work they do.
Highly recommend Beyond Bespoke!

Got a white, short BCBG dress taken in here. The people working here are very nice and helpful. I’m really pleased with the final product! It fits perfectly now.
The only thing I can say is not so great is the pricing. I ended up getting charged 100 $ for the job. Granted, the dress is rouged and has 2 layers (layers can drive a price up, I know), but not pattern or beading… I just found this wildly expensive.
I’ve read that they’re reasonable for other things (hems, etc), but man, the alterations were almost as much as the dress!
