décor and ambience is really cute for the area. the dark lighting sets the tone for a a nice dinner. but when you come in, you have to ask for bread and a menu. the bread is doughy, and should be more crispy. the pasta dish was delicious, and I expected the same for my pizza. I asked for a crispy crust, while they served my pizza it was all doughy and soft. I had a insalata with prosciutto. the server and cook said they were not able to correct it for me. then when I asked for the owner, they took it back, but then I got a pizza returned burned and black on the crust and salad was all wilted and mushy. so that of course is not a good thing, but I have to say they offered to take care of my bill. Besides the not on point service I am hopeful that they can improve. and that they will. cause that’s what this area needs. a 3 star for now.

It’s a nice place to have a glass of wine, but don’t come here for the food. The food is OK but very overpriced — you don’t get what you pay for, and the menu is very tired and boring. The staff is friendly but it’s usually crowded so the service is slow and it takes forever to get the food. It’s an overrated restaurant and I personally don’t get why it’s so popular.

Review is on food and delivery. The food tasted great! ordered the prosciutto pizza, calamari salad and mussels with pasta. The food was delivered within 25 mins. As far as others complaining that food gets delivered cold, try riding your bike in the freezing cold carrying food. The food was pretty warm still but we heated it up in our toaster oven :) Definitely ordering from here again

The blanca pizza with mushrooms is my favorite. Nice, thin, crispy crust with a wonderful mellow yet savory top. A good amount of umami from the mushrooms. Their gnocchi is also delicious. I’m no gnocchi expert, but my kids gobbled up these tender potato pasta pieces with a vengeance. Will definitely get these again. Next favorite was the margherita pizza. The sausage pizza was okay but the spicy sausage flavor didn’t quite work for me. Quick delivery and easy to order!

I would give 3.5. Bread-good. Tastes like thick pizza bread. Pretty moist. Tasty with the butter. Fettuccine-good. Just the right amount of creamy sauce. Well balanced ingredients. The sausage isn’t of good quality. Pollo picchi pacchi-average. Well grilled and thin slices of chicken breast. Ordinary taste.

Very much enjoyed an Italian dinner here with my family. We were in a rush to get to a concert, no problem, the server understood. This is the kind of place where the manager walks around and asks how your dinner is, authentic, nicely decorated, good food. The pasta and the salads and soup were fresh and tasty. The only issue was the vegetable soup had very little vegetable in it. But it was a nice dish. Great bread, too.

A friend and I came here a few Friday nights ago to catch up. He comes in for dinner fairly regularly, and the service was so friendly and nice to us the entire meal. The ambiance and décor is subtle and lovely. On to the food! Gnocchi($ 13) is one of my favorite foods ever so I had to order it. There was some bread that came out before our food, and it was fresh and delicious. The pasta dishes came out in literally 6 minutes, which was a bit odd. The gnocchi was OK. It wasn’t the best I have enjoyed in the city nor was it the worst. The shape was a bit funny, and a few of the noodles were a bit rubbery. However, I did enjoy my meal. I would come back here again if I was in the neighborhood. The prices were very reasonable, and the staff was ultra friendly.

This is a review for the delivery service. The food is fine. The delivery guy openly said to me that the tip(I’ve given 15%) is too little. I was SO shocked… as I had great dine-in experience in this restaurant… Speechless…

Checked this place out this past weekend. It was fairly quiet when we first walked in, but when we left around 7:30 this place was pretty packed. The service was great and very friendly. The décor and ambiance to this place is great for date night. They started us off with a bread basket, which included a tomato sauce topped bread. We shared a pizza, which they make in a brick oven. The pizza was pretty good, but not the best I’ve had. I also had the salmon with roasted zucchini/summer squash and potatoes. The salmon entrée was delicious. Worth trying this restaurant out if ever in the area.

Upon finding soon-to-be neighbor Island Burger Co. hadn’t opened yet, my girlfriend and I decided to give Bettolona a try. We ordered the Spinach Fettuccine and a pizza with hot sausage and smoked mozzarella, both of which were very delicious. I have no idea if this is the norm, but on a Friday night, we got our food probably six minutes after ordering — before we even had a sip of wine. Kind of mind blowing. The inside is nicely understated, and we were able to sit essentially outside, as they had opened all of the glass door panels. The restaurant is literally underneath the 1 train, so it’s to be expected that you’ll hear it… and you certainly do, but it adds to the charm. Would definitely recommend!

I visited NYC this summer and popped in for a quick dinner. Mr. P and I both really enjoyed the food, the service, and the atmosphere. We’re not native New Yorkers nor are we of Italian decent so I won’t comment on authenticity and suffice it to say the food was tasty to us.

I’ve been here twice, once on a date for dinner and once with a group of 16 for lunch. Wasn’t too keen on the service but the real impetus for this review is that they served me lasagna that was burnt and the bread was stale. With so many Italian restaurants in the city, I won’t be coming back here voluntarily. Décor and ambiance are nice.

This place is a gem!!! Authentic Italian food. Everything was fresh. Staff was pleasant and charming. Pizza crust was nice and thin. Calamari was grilled to perfection. Tuna carpaccio was fresh. Affogato was amazing. I will definitely be returning soon. I highly recommend Bettolona!!!

The waiter brought a sandwich board on top If a chair to show us the specials and walked off. My wine had a bunch of cork pieces in it, the pizza was mediocre at best. My friend had the striped bass special, fish was dry. The meatballs appetizer is merely ok… the décor is nice, but the sound of the train overhead is distracting.

After hearing positive reviews on the pizza, my boyfriend and I decided to check out Bettolona. We ordered the Norcina pizza. The crust was crisp but the pizza itself was weirdly slightly soggy and bland. It wasn’t good but it also wasn’t completely terrible. However, when you factor in the price, $ 14 for mediocre pizza is too much. I do, however, like the atmosphere of Bettolona. The interior is cutely decorated and at night the lights dim with candlelit tables — in that regard, it is perfect for date night.

This place is an absolute gem in the Morningside Heights area. I went for lunch with a few guys from work. Service was great and the food was amazing. I got the Fettuccini with sweet sausage, peas, and tomatoes in a light cream sauce. It was incredible and loaded with flavor. We sat by the floor-to-ceiling windows that line the restaurant, which are open in the summer time. Their pasta selection is really extensive(whole wheat options as well) and a lot of different pizza choices, which I’m hoping to try next time. Definitely will be back!

This is where I order pizza from when I want something a little more fancy than my New York style go-to pizza place. Even though nowadays you can’t seem to throw a rock without hitting a brick oven pizza place in harlem(a nice problem to have), this is still where I order my fancier and more expensive pizza from, when I want to order from a place that doesn’t have pizza by the slice. I usually get the fumigata pizza with the smoked mozzarella and spicy sausage. You get the smokiness as soon as you open the box and the spicy sausage is delicious. The pasta here is also legit, and the wine selection is not bad. Though I usually get delivery, I have eaten in a couple of times and the service is not bad. Every once in a while I get a really slow delivery, but usually they are here within the half hour. If you get a pasta or an entrée they usually send some bread as well, and their bread is pretty good. With some salt and evoo the bread is to die for.

I’ll start with food. I had a red snapper which was a special for that evening. Also we ordered a pizza and some veggie appetizer. All dishes were tasty and cooked properly. They have an Italian(if I’m not mistaken) draft beer which I had for the first time in my life and will definitely dig out the name of it from somewhere cause it was soo good! This place is dark. Really dark. It’s hard to see anything besides your plate, so it’s kinda hard to say anything about the décor. One thing that I didn’t like was their daily specials menu which is a blackboard that service carries from table to table so people actually can see whats on it. Check was low, staff was friendly. Next time I’m taking a flashlight.

Good food and atmosphere. The restaurant was nice in the fall; as the interior was open to the outdoors, giving the place good lighting and atmosphere. I came here with a couple of friends and got a pizza all to myself. I saw the pizza being baked myself in the oven near the cashier, so I know it was made fresh. A small incident: A waiter took our order without writing anything down. Later, my friend got the wrong pizza. Luckily, we were able to get it substituted for the correct pizza, with little downtime. They seemed pretty nice and understanding about it too, which was good. I would definitely come here again.

If you live in the area and are looking for a place with decent delivery pizza, I would say give this one a shot. It isn’t the best pizza in NYC, but not the worst either. Thinner crust makes it easier to handle than something like Koronet nearby(which is great but lots of dough). We got 2 pizzas since they are kinda small for 2 people to share. With that said, you are looking at over 30 dollars for 2 small pizzas so its not the cheapest in town. I would say give it a try since there isn’t a lot of competition in the area.
