Went to eat there on 1÷30÷16. As we walked in we were asked if we had a reservation, we informed them that we didn’t. I found it weird at first because the place was empty– by the time we sat down and started eating the place was packed. So I really appreciate that they gave us a table. I had the breaded chicken with linguine, it was delicious. My girlfriend enjoyed her meal aswell. Only thing that dissapointed was the sangria, about $ 40 a pitcher, it had very little flavor-average at best. But as a whole this place good.

Bello was fantastic. Went here last minute on a Saturday night. From the service, atmosphere and food I was extremely pleased. Was not that hungry so only sampled some appetizers, shrimp cocktail, garlic shrimp, eggplant rollintini, and fried zucchini. The only thing that could have made my experience better is if the zucchini was a little more well done. Would definitely return to this place if I was in the neighborhood.

Los platos son simples y ricos. La atención depende de quién toque, porque los mozos se intercambian mesas. Por el lugar y lo que sirven NO es barato.

The staff is friendly, professional, warm and usually efficient & the food is usually superb; Sunday night was quite busy and the fried zucchini was flaccid, and the Caesar salad was a nightmare, dry, tasteless and lacking the qualities a wonderful restaurant like Bello should make sure they master… at $ 10 a pop for a pile of chopped romaine, stale bread and a sliver of cheese, this is a faux pas! The maiin courses were deliciou – the salmon is one of the best in the City, the filet of sole was terrific and the veal chop to die for – go and enjoy but if not up to par, let them know!

We had a great meal here with our family! The food is great and comforting. The staff was truly attentive and wonderful. We really appreciated the GF pasta option and they were happy to keep my husband ‘s zuppa di pesce dairy free. He said it was one of the best he’d had in a long time. My veal saltimboca was very tasty and the flavors were lighter than I’m accustomed to. We will be happy to return!

We arrived early and had to wait for our the rest of our party of six before ordering. We were greeted and seated no problem. Our waiters could see we had much to talk about and were most patient as we caught up with each other. The wine list was reasonable and the drinks were perfect. My baked clam appetizer tasty and tender. My wife ordered the avocado salad and it was excellent and just like the picture! I had the veal special(rolled veal stuffed with cheese) it was different and fantastic. Everyone enjoyed their meal and we stayed for several hours. We never felt rushed and our dinner waiter was very friendly, knowledgeable and professional. No one had room for desert, just coffee and a complimentary limoncello, amaretto or sambuca. No doggy bags left with us as we all finished our food! It is pricey but I did not feel ripped off.

It’s probably not worth going out of your way for, but if you’re in the area I think you’ll find it quite lovely. Accommodating, good service, well-prepared food.

Came in(early) before going to Lincoln Center. No problem getting a table, and staff couldn’t have been more friendly. The caprese salad appetizer was delicious, as were both of our entrees(calamari diavolo /angel hair with veggies). The special of the day was a stuffed veal chop that sounded AMAZING… but I’d probably need a nap after that. We skipped dessert and coffee, and they promptly offered us some limoncello. The food was comfort food and it was good. I don’t mean that in a bad way — it was well done, it wasn’t greasy, it was just done right. It really hit the spot. The price was right, the environment was perfect. Next time I’m headed to the opera, we’ll be stopping in here.

A group of 6 of us went last night, the food was excellent as well as the service. Our waiter(Alexandro) was awesome. One nice feature of the restaurant is the free parking right behind the restaurant.

We had a team dinner here and had a separate area booked for all of us to eat together. The lighting in the area that we were in was really dim — I felt like I needed a flashlight to read the menu. We had put in our orders for food and ended up waiting a very long time since they seemed to serve one table at a time. Literally by the time we got our food, the table that received their food first was already done(we met up for our reservation at around 7:30pm, and didn’t get our food till around 8:30/9:00pm). We had a set menu — i don’t understand why they couldn’t serve everyone at once. In terms of the food — it was alright. I can’t even remember what I had off the top of my head(It was like … rigatoni). The only good part was the dessert, the tiramisu. Our server was so awkward as well. He was on his phone most of the time, when he filled a glass of water for one of the girls at our table, he over-poured water that spilled on the table, when collecting the plates, dropped a food onto another person’s shirt and when picking up the plates on my side of the table, dropped a utensil on me. Maybe it’s just me but i felt like outta all the places in NY, we could have gone somewhere else.

I had the veal and mushroom marsala and Manila clams w bread crumbs. The clams were a bit heavy and greasy but the veal was solid. The flan was a refreshing treat as well.

What a great place to eat a nice Italian meal. We came for lunch because we live in the area, and without any expectations or ideas of what we’d experience, and left delightfully surprised. Everything from the food and the service were excellent. Atmosphere-wise, the décor is a little more contemporary, and I imagine it could make for a good date night. Since we went during lunch, the crowd was mostly businessmen from around the area. Noise-wise it got a little loud, I could hear pretty much every conversation from the other tables, but not a big deal. I think our server’s name was George, and he was wonderful. He gave us several recommendations from the menu, and was very gracious. The rest of the staff was quite attentive too, especially with refilling water and clearing plates. Food-wise, we ordered the burrata mozzarella special, the carpaccio, and the mussels as appetizers, and the seafood linguini with white sauce, the soft shell crab special, and the mussels again as entrees. Both the specials were absolutely amazing, the burrata was so soft and creamy on the inside, and I usually dislike soft shell crab but this one was pan-fried and very crispy and salty and delicious. Definitely recommend getting the specials if you still can. The appetizer mussels came with a tomato based preparation, and the entrée version came with a white wine sauce. Both were tasty, but in the entrée a portion of the mussels didn’t have any of the sauce flavor, just seemed to be steamed in plain water :(The linguini was very tasty, and quite buttery, definitely a good choice is you’re looking for something heavier. We also had a slice of meringue cake(I think that’s what it was called) for dessert which was yummy too. It was served chilled and almost had an amaretto-like flavor. Overall we loved our time here, and will be back sometime soon!

We dined at bello on Saturday night, our first experience at this restaurant, and had a lovely time. Overall, I’d give the food a solid three, and the service and ambience a 5. Bello is exactly what they describe themselves to be. A neighborhood restaurant that serves comfort food. We wanted a quieter night without pretension, and we wanted classic Italian comfort food. We got both. The restaurant was filled with families 10 tops all around, including a lovely man who was celebrating his 85th at the table next to us. The mood is lively and people were dressed in everything from t shirts and shorts to jackets and jeans. Great electric crowd. We were given the choice between front and back of the dining room. We chose back. Our waiter was attentive and had wonderful back up for when his attention was on the birthday table. We wanted for nothing. We started with a burrata special that was heavenly. Salads next, M had the tricolore and I had the house. Both were lovely, but mine was a bit over dressed. For mains, M had the rigatoni, I had the Bolognese. The pasta was al dente and perfect. The sauce was a little bland –I’d have preferred a little more kick to mine, but it was exactly what we expected. Good, solid comfort food with a few excellent surprised(like the burrata). I’m not sure if we’ll rush to return, but I wouldn’t shy away either. Lovely experience and such fun to be a part of an entire restaurant singing happy 85th to Bob. :)

This place was nice. The food and service were good. They had a table ready without us having a reservation. I would eat here again but would also try other Italian restaurants too.

This is based only on the fact that I went here specifically for spumoni ice cream. I was thoroughly disappointed. Blue Bunny and Kroger make a better version. The $ 12 ‘slice’ was not worth it. It’s pre sliced serving overpowered by vanilla shell very little pistachio center and chocolate top. The candied fruit and nuts were nonexistent. I would have rather had two soft serve waffle cones from the street vendors. Side note: I went around lunch and was the ONLY person for a good fifteen minutes and the original waiter seemed annoyed and like he didn’t want to serve me since I was only getting dessert. The owner was very friendly. I think I would go back to try the food but no dessert!

I’ve been coming to Bello’s for 30 years since I was a young man first working in NYC. I’ve read some nasty reviews which is unfortunate so perhaps I can add a little balance. The décor has been updated a few years back and more hip than before — keep in mind this is a neighborhood spot that’s been in this space for 30+ years. So that was nice to see… Service — as with any place, depending on the time and how busy the place is, service can grind to a halt. They are very proficient at serving large groups and frankly with a private dining room to boot(most people aren’t aware of the this) the kitchen can rock or drop a few things here and there. But we have never really had service issues. Food — We have already stayed with the basics here — red sauce, chicken parm, the veal«special» is THE total winner, pastas, fish and another hidden gem — the garlic bread(not on the menu but ask, they will make it for you but watch out! Its REALLY garlic bread!). Warm home made potato chips to start and 2 different breads for the table. Other random items — they validate parking at the lot behind the building for those«bridge and tunnel» folks. If you are pre-theater you need to tell them so they get you in and out of there faster. Wine list — the only thing I’ve never been impressed with, especially by the glass. Garlic. If you don’t LOVE garlic, don’t bother going there. Its a big part of all the dishes. And finally, this is comfort food. If you are looking for the latest and greatest, so somewhere else. This is your basic no fuss no must place. But the hood has changed and rents are significantly on the rise so so are the prices. Its New York after all. But we highly recommend Bello.

From start to finish everything is always excellent. Cocktails perfect. Beer icy cold. Food and service top notch. We live in the neighborhood and this is our go to Italian. Have always had a wonderful dining experience.

One word… PASS! This has to be the worst restaurant experience I have ever had! Upon seating we were given some pretty crappy stale bread. If that wasn’t enough, we we were also give a basket of homemade potato chips which were inedible due to the fact that they were literally covered in oil. We ordered an appetizer of zucchini sticks which mimicked the potato chips(greasy). We sent them back without even a bite. Then after waiting for almost 40 minutes our dinner finally arrived. I ordered the spaghetti bolognese. After one bite, that got returned too since the spaghetti would hardly even bend. Now don’t get me wrong, I love al dente pasta, but this wasn’t even that. It crunched in my mouth like a cracker. Not cool. My husband ordered chicken marsala. We had two bites of it since ee were hungry and needed to get to our show. It lacked any type of flavor and didn’t even look like marsala. We paid the bill. After all that, they did not even try to make amends with us. We left, went to the show and then went for a real dinner at one of my favorite places… Becco’s!
