Love this beer garden. It’s great to hang out with friends and has a very comfortable atmosphere. You can get a great view of the bridge. And you can play all sorts of table gamesand have food while there.

Too expensive for the service they provide and I really didn’t like the food. Beer was good, I can tell this for sure, but food… I had French fries and a burger, I still can feel in my stomach. This is nice place to have a small party with your friends, no I am wrong, you can have a big party, there is enough room for about 30 people . In the evening it gets really busy so I would recommend to come earlier to have a table . This is my experience.

This place is like a very awkward frat beach party. With loud jocks and ping pong table and that occasional blonde that wants to get everyone’s attention by showing everyone what her plastic surgeon gave her. Everyone is hella drunk here! I went here for a friend’s birthday party, the view Is absolutely beautiful, let me tell you. The drinks were eh and over priced. But that’s expected. Since I don’t really drink, the Shirley temple was great and was charged the same as sprite(normally places don’t) So bottomline: Just take a bottle of beer put it into a bag or a container, drink it on the Brooklyn Bridge and you will get a better experience minus the overpricedness.

I came here on a lazy Sunday, so I did not experience any crowding or loud music issues. In fact, I had a great time! It have helped that I was already a little buzzed from a beer cruise right before. As the name implies, Beekman is right on the beach. The beer garden moniker is slightly deceptive as the beer selection pales in comparison to actual beer gardens. Nonetheless they have a decent selection for craft beer enthusiasts. They serve food as well and everything is a little pricey. Beekman has white furniture along the beach which gives it a sleek look. THey have tables for ping pong(or other pongs) and arm wrestling. All in all you have plenty to keep your party occupied while drinking and eating on the beach. Not bad at all!

Great place to day drink! Drinks are pricy but expected for this type of location in NYC. We got a perfect table with the white sofas closest to the river. The bar tenders were very nice and fast. You can get food at «food truck» type set ups toward the back of the space which has a ton of picnic tables set up beer garden style. There was a private work event going on which appeared to have a buffet and people were playing corn hole. Overall very fun atmosphere and great place to day drink! Giving it 4 stars because it is kind of annoying to get to and not as fun as some other outdoor day drinking places(such as frying pan and boat basin).

My idea of a beer garden doesn’t involve pumping loud music with huge crowds. I like my beer gardens low key. This is more of an outdoor lounge than a beer garden and that’s okay. The entrance is a bit like a maze and they won’t let you in through the side it shares with Pier 17 mall so you’ve got to go around. The view is absolutely beautiful. They have a section of sand with white couches and another section of wooden park tables. The crowd is nice and mixed. They have games even and in general, Beekman’s has a nice vibe going. Three stars because PORT-A-POTTIES. There a two sets of toilets. Legit port-a-potties by the entrance and then a trailer with bathrooms in them where the floor is cracking and breaking. I never felt more unsafe in the bathroom than I did here because I literally thought the toilet and I were going to crash through the trailer floor.

Great views by the water… Good place if you want to go out with a big group. There is no cover charge. But if you want one of those fancy white tables, I think you need to order bottle service. We didn’t get a table. Drinks were strictly ok and a bit pricey for the quality, I thought. Music again was ok. I went there on a Sat night with friends. They were playing Electronic dance music from a playlist probably. I am a big EDM fan so the music felt very ok. Plus, they need to have better speakers, maybe :) I would still come back here just for the views on a summer night with friends.

I went to the Beekman Beer Garden for a private event so my experience was much different from the average patron. But the things that were the same was the atmosphere. Beekman has a «fake beach» setup, complete with imported sand and plastic furniture. Definitely not Hawaii, but its nice to be able to stick your feet in sand after a long day. Malibu Rum held a private event to introduce their newest rum: Spiced Rum. They offered open bar of different variations with this rum. My favorite was the ginger spiced rum. The waitresses were attentive and brought us new drinks before we finished our old ones. They also offered a buffet dinner: bbq chicken, burgers, hot dogs, potato salad, corn etc. The food was great and if I weren’t at an event with a handful of beauty bloggers, I would have gone for a 2nd(or 3rd) helping. Best part of the Beekman Beer Garden is the location. Down on South Street Seaport and overlooking the east river and Brooklyn Bridge. It really doesn’t get any better than that. Perfect spot for an impromptu photoshoot.

I recently came here with some co-workers after work around 6… This place is right on the water… although one of the entrances is kind of creepy, once you get past it, it’s great to watch the sky change colors when the sun is setting. The atmosphere before the sun sets is very chill and a great time to get away from the work environment. I did get a few mosquito bites but I’m that person who the pesky mosquitoes are attracted to so when you’re with me, you’ll be mosquito bite free. A plus is the bathrooms — it’s like a trailer with 3 – 4 stalls with a nice cleaning lady who keeps it pretty tidy and almost smell free… it is a public bathroom, so lets be honest, that’s hard to find these days.

I never ever ever ever learn. I thought hurricane Sandy washed away all the D-Bagginess of this spot. Nah-uh…its in full effect. Even on a Sunday?! Its like watching Long Island Princesses on the Bravo channel… PLUS…hella expensive drinks. I hope all them southstreet tourists don’t think this is how we all getz down in the city. Ugh.

This is a great happy hour/after work spot filled with 20 – 30 somethings grabbing a drink and enjoying the scenery. The bar selection could use some help(seriously, no Makers Mark and only 4 beers on tap). I agree with the previous reviews: come for the view and the company, not for the drinks and the food. Grab your drink(don’t expect anything fancy), mingle with the other singles and head to one of the many local restaurants within walking distance of Beekman. Tip: if you get there early enough(i.e. happy hour), you can use the facilities inside the Southstreet Seaport building instead of the portable toilets. Plan ahead. :-)

WHYAREYOUCALLED A BEERGARDENWHENYOUHAVEONLY4BEERSONTAP?! Too bad it rained while I was here. So many good looking young people who just got out of work, but the atmosphere was disgusting. Yes, it’s suppose to look like a beach club but I was not impressed at all. The bathrooms are porto potties that seriously need to be maintained. I payed $ 11 for a mixed drink– and maybe I am use to Jersey prices but that still pisses me off. It’s a little difficult to find your way there if you haven’t been there before. I’m not sure if there was another entrance but we had to go through a lot of back ways to get out. I tried some of the food. The chicken tenders tasted like nothing, so I’m pretty sure they were frozen. Other than that, it was pretty decent, but I didn’t pay for it so I can’t really complain.

Again, something about water places that just rub me the wrong way. Beekman’s keeps up the theme of aquatic annoyance, but the spectacular view more than makes up for its other shortcomings. Located in the north end of the Southstreet Seaport, Beekman’s is two parts: giant tent filled with long tables filled with friends revealing over beer, and an outside patio filled with crazy looking white benches and smokers. We came here rather late on a Friday, and so the entrance from the Southstreet Seaport was closed, so that means you have to walk around and through what is basically the service entrance for the Seaport. Don’t fret if you think that you are about to stumble on people clocking in for their shift or a giant delivery of mediocre beer, you are heading in the right direction! Inside you are greeted to a lively crowd, generic top 40 music from the last 40 years, and some really, really, really mediocre beer. When you call yourself a beer garden, please serve good beer. When the best beer you have on tap is Blue Moon, then Houston Street… we have a problem. Beers will cost you about 7.50 for a 12 oz. Whatever you do, for the love of all things Holy please do not order the Ale. Tasted like fermented water right out of the East River. The bathroom situation is rather silly. Its a trailer that is located off the beaten path around the bar. Basically a glorified outhouse. They could make the worst out of a bad situation by having better signage and making the walkway a little bigger, but then again, I am just a surly sailor. Everything else about the place screams 2, maybe even one star, however, the most enjoyable thing about this Beach Club is the amazing view of the East River. Even on a crappy night, the Bridges bustling with life and the towers soaring to the sky are still an awesome thing to stare at. Looking at the subways going across the Manhattan Bridge is also amazingly trippy. So if you happen to be in the neighborhood, are a tourist, or are looking for a cool happy hour spot, then plop down in the garden on the warf. If higher expectations are on your horizons, then you are better off docking your boat elsewhere.

Let me start off by saying that this is such a fun place to hang out when the weather is warm. Couches(made of plastic) on the sand? What could be better? It gets three stars just for that. But now lets get to the bad: –Music is way too loud. You can’t even tell what song is playing because the bass is amped up all the way. –Itty-bitty, teeny-weeny weak drinks for $ 11 each? Not a fan of that. I was drinking them like shots, they were so tiny. -$ 30 credit card minimum. –They rip you off when you pay with a credit card. I had $ 6 worth of tax added to my card! What? Tax is supposed to be already included in drink prices, and it is when you pay by cash. So what’s the deal? Would I come back? Yes, for the view. But I’m bringing my flask.

So, Beekman isn’t exactly a real beer garden. Or a real beach. Or a real club. But come the summer months, it gets a lot of attention. And I can’t lie — I find myself here once or twice a year, one way or another. It’s honesty great for bringing out-of-town guests to because the views of the East River bridges are wonderful and probably closer to your visitor’s movie-based perception of New York than the dark, seedy, underground, other venues you plan on dragging them to during the rest of their stay(you low-life). This iconic backdrop, plus the idea of drinking outdoors, are pretty much the only two reasons to go here in my opinion. But in the grand scheme of things, they’re big reasons — big enough to level the scales when weighing pros and cons. That said, there is a laundry list of said lesser cons most New Yorkers tend to agree on: — The bar staff is typically rude to the point I’m convinced assholism is part of their training. — It’s in South Street Seaport, which is just a hotbed of tourist activity. — Your bathroom options are limited to porta-potties and more porta-potties. — The beer selection is weak and over-priced.(Although, surprisingly, t-shirts are only something like $ 15. Go figure.) — The sand pit and glow-in-the-dark sofas try to combine both the«beach» and«club» vibe in one fell swoop, and while they’re not terrible, they’re certainly more cheesy and fake than anything else. Sure, it’s got some games, too — giant chess, foosball table, ping pong table, pool table, arm wrestling table, lots of bro tables. These are nice amenities, but not Beekman’s biggest draw, nor are they enough to offset the joint’s shortcomings. Again, you come here to drink beers to the face while soaking up the sun and taking in that view. No, not the view of the drunk girl stumbling in the sand, tripping over her maxi dress. Turn around. Right, that one of the Brooklyn Bridge and his two buddies straight chillin’. That’s the view.

«Meh» is about right. I was wavering between 2 and 3 stars but settled on 2 just because I’m really not likely to ever come back here unless it’s for another friend’s birthday party. Main points: — As others have pointed out, no, a bunch of picnic tables plus 4 beers on tap does not a beer garden make. No pitchers? It’s like you guys aren’t even trying. — Lines to get drinks are long, so go with a buddy and grab as many as you can hold at once. — Good spot by the water. I even like the sand covered section; feels like you’re at a club in an actual beach town for a second and not in NYC. — Music is typical top 40/pop/club, but not obnoxiously loud. Overall, I’d say this is a fine setting for a group hangout, but it’s not a destination spot.

Some friends and I wondered in here late night last Friday. I was absolutely starving, as the kitchen had already closed at our last spot(Jeremy’s Ale House), and it was like 10:30 and I hadn’t had dinner. Beekman’s totally delivered on that front with their little grill area. I ordered some fries and corn on the cob. Perfect. Otherwise, I had a pleasant time. The spot is in a gorgeous location and overlooks the Brooklyn bridge, as well as Manhattan and Brooklyn, of course; it’s perfect for tipsy, sentimental reflection time. We didn’t tour the whole beer garden, but I did spot a ping pong table, and there was a sandy area where people had started to dance by the end of the night. I guess the beer selection wasn’t that great, but it was late night and we had already been drinking since 7PM anyway. I wasn’t being too discerning by that hour. I’m sure if that’s what I came here looking for, I would have been disappointed, because they call themselves a beer garden. Seriously, just call it a beach bar. BONUS: The name also reminded me of Beakman’s world, the kids’ science show with the crazy-haired scientist and the man in the rat costume. Remember that relic?!?

The beekman beer garden is open for summer! Great outdoor space down in the South Street Seaport. Good for both day and night drinking. They have a couple of slightly different areas: — covered tent area with picnic tables, tvs, etc — sand space with small plastic tables /couches available for reserving and bottle service at night drinks are pricey and small. but that is to be expected i guess for premium outdoor space with great views of the brooklyn bridge and downtown. yay for summer!

I’ve never been a huge fan of the part of town that this place is at. That being said, I’m a huge fan of the view that this place affords its clientele. $ 7 for a beer is meh but the light up sofa seats are cool to look at(though not too comfortable to sit in). I went on a Monday night, so it was really nice and chill. It almost felt as if my group was a bunch of really important people who were important enough to get the entire place to ourselves. I highly recommend a Monday night experience, can’t speak for how the place is like on a busier day though.

I came here using Gilt coupons with my lower 20-something year old friends(something like 2L of beer + pretzel + sausage) for $ 30. I’m totes a fan of this place! Though we came at night and it was kind of nippy out, the view was still AMAZING. Right on the East River with views of the Brooklyn, Manhattan, and Williamsburg Bridges. It’s a different kind of atmosphere, really, with firepits, and instead of wood/tile flooring, sand(make sure you don’t wear shoes you wouldn’t want to get dirty. Also, you leave smelling like firewood. The plastic couches light up. There’s also a tent with foosball/billiards. We went crazy over foosball. So fun. I had a few bites of the spicy sausage here and I have to say, the oozey fatty piece of meat is pretty delicious ;) There was also like 150+ sign language speakers here, something you don’t see quite often at a bar/lounge, but it was nice to see that it could be accomodating for them as well. Would totally recommend this place on a nice day :)
