This was just… bad. Made a reservation for restaurant week and you could tell this was one of those restaurants that participates but actually hates it. The tables were literally an inch apart from each other. Originally I thought it was one long table. I had to use the candle at the table to read the menu and see my food as I had no idea what I was eating. Service is incredibly slow. The drinks are average and for $ 19 a piece, they should be phenomenal. The music is so loud we barely bothered talking through dinner. We had the prosciutto and burrata appetizer which was actually excellent, and the branzino and steak off the restaurant week menu which were average. Desert took 45 minutes to arrive. Our poor waiter was slammed. He was incredibly nice but overwhelmed. All of this I could forgive if they food was good but it was just mediocre.

I like that they had free coat check & the bathrooms and staff were pretty nice. You do have to travel through a little labyrinth to get to events(held downstairs). The space downstairs was nice but tiny. Not sure how in the world they will be doing fashion shows here(since I tend to go to or participate in a lot of those) but seems like a decent venue for a birthday party. Their Brazillian night got PACKED on a Thursday night but there was dancing & overall merriment. No complaints here & it does have an air of class to it.

We had an 8:30pm reservation but they didn’t seat us until 9:10. The food was good but it’s now 10:29pm and we are still waiting for our dessert. It must be almost 30 minutes now. We tried the restaurant week menu. Salad and veal meatballs starters were good. The braised steak was very tender and the branzino was good and cooked well. But it’s ridiculous how slow the service is. Also we are sitting in the back room with the Twinkie shaped chandelier and it’s freezing. The hostess with the bun had a bit of an attitude and told me it was mandatory coat check but there are other customers here with their coats on their chairs. Didn’t smile and when I asked her again how long the wait would be she pointed out she already told the other member of my party that it would be another 5 minutes. Well thanks for telling me. I’m literally writing this review to pass the time. It is now 10:56 and we finally got out of there. The desserts weren’t bad. Chocolate fondant very good and lemon tart was as expected from a store bought tart. Not amazing but good enough. No discount or complimentary anything even though they took over 1.5 hours of our time. If you’re looking for a long slow dinner, loud bumping music, and want to dress up like you’re going to a club(but with 40+ year olds), this would be the place to go. We will never come here again.

I don’t understand how this restaurant could have good reviews! What’s all the hype? First of all — It’s a basement, however they beautify the walls, it’s claustrophobic, has no air and no windows. Second — the noise of all the patrons squashed together in a small space is deafening! You have to scream across the table to be heard — not very romantic. And on top of that there is also music playing! Third — the tables are so close together that you literally sit together with strangers and hear everything they say. And once you sit down and they push the table to you, that’s it, you can’t get out! Fourth — very overpriced for the tiny portions. Did I mention a $ 19!!! martini and 3 spoons of so called soup? And I could forgive all that and more if the food was fantastic, but… it was just average! There are plenty of interesting restaurants in Manhattan with innovative cuisines that are less expensive and more«beautique» than this Beautique! Save your money!

The portions here are a joke but the food is pretty memorable and unique, so I don’t mind except I want more because is so delicious! I am looking forward to going back.

If you’re in the mood to have your outfit insulted and then threatened with violence by the [same] host, then this is the SPOT! The smarmy male host, with a man-bun no less, first insisted I check my coat before he would even answer if I was in the right place for a private party, but while walking me to the lounge told me I should have kept my coat on because my «sweater was ugly.» Upon leaving when I told him I didn’t appreciate his comments he got in my face and said«Let’s take this outside.» He then proceeded to step outside and wait for me– I had to get my checked coat before I could leave. All that and $ 17 cocktails made with Belvedere vodka? It’s a safe bet you’ll have a safer time and spend less money anywhere else in midtown.

Went to Beautique during restaurant week on a Monday and I will likely not return and it is not because the food wasn’t good. Pros: Food was pretty good Music was loud but entertaining Nice décor Cons: * Host/Hostess were not helpful and unconcerned with making the experience pleasant * Although we had a reservation we were sat in the front area where we were constantly bumped by incoming guests * the attention to the table was non-existent. I think I saw them 2x * waited at least an hour for the check Overall, I wouldn’t take the risk there are so many other good places in the area.

The experienece starts with a handsome guy opening the door for you, and directing you downstairs. Coat check on the left, and next to that is the maitre d. The Bar is behind the maitre d I suggeat the Maison Martini(vodka). Comes with a cold glass. Delicious and sneaks up on you. When all of my party arrived, we were escorted to our table, given menus and time to order. I had the Branzino fish with cauliflower purée. I thought i was in heaven until I tasted my friend’s steak. BUTTER! I dont eat beef but would have one of their steak any day! Oh I had the Beautique salad as an appetizer. Meh. The dessert(served w/a cold spoon) was orange brioche with green tea icecream. Delicious. Friendly waiter and bus boy. We were never rushed. Go! Go! Go! Why not 5 stars? Small space and extreme table crowding. :)

This is me and my friend Andrea G.‘s second time participating in Restaurant Week. Beautique is our pick for 2016 and good thing I made a reservation in advance for tonight. I like the idea of coat check especially as we are wearing our winter jackets and its less of a hassle as we are trying to enjoy our lovely dinner. I let our server Aaron know that I am extremely allergic to peanuts/peanut oil and other nuts just to be safe. As throughout the meal, the guy who took away our plates and utensils actually was more sociable than our server who hardly stopped by our table. Oh well… this 5 stars review is ONLY about the food anyways! Me: Appetizer — Veal Meatballs(oh my goodness that creamy polenta was heavenly delicious and the veal meatballs literally melted in my mouth *hubba hubba* «Mama Like») Entrée — Braised Flat Iron Steak(definitely a different take on steak as the texture is like a short rib topped with delicious vegetables but I don’t like to eat mushrooms so I kicked it to the side and the sauce was soooo good as I soaked it up with the steak every bit of it… hehehe I know I am such a carnivore) Dessert — Orange Brioche Pudding(I ordered this one as the description mentioned jalapeño powder which is kinda unique for something sweet… the pudding was more towards like a pound cake as I am imagining something totally different so I was disappointed and I couldn’t taste at all the jalapeño powder so I don’t know where that went… I didn’t care much for the Macha Green Tea Icecream which I think it should’ve been paired with a different flavor icecream… just saying) Andrea G: Appetizer — Beautique Salad Entrée — Branzino Dessert — Chocolate Fondant Overall we really enjoyed dining here tonight and its totally worth the $$$ so definitely take advantage of the Restaurant Week menu and go make yourself a reservation!

Had reservations for Saturday evening. Our reservation was for 830pm and we were running a few minutes late. The hostess told us we would be losing our table but could grab a drink at the bar and wait for another table to open up. We didn’t get seated until well after 10pm. Not ok in my opinion. I thought they would at least offer a round of drinks on the house, but they did not. The service was subpar. We had to hunt down the waiter to refill our waters all night. In my opinion, we spent way too much money here to have any complaints. Everything is overpriced. I will say that if you do decide to check this place out, you’ll want to try the Mac and cheese, tuna tar tar, and short ribs.

Lovely time at Beautique. Came to Beautique for dinner and definitely enjoyed it. Beverage: Started with the Chardonnay which was great. Nice and chilled. Apps: Tomato & Ricotta soup-I am not the biggest soup person but this soup was really good. The tomato was not overpowering such as in a Bloody Mary Grilled Octopus– Very flavorful which isn’t always the easiest thing to do with a texture so tough. I usually prefer Fried Octopus but this was also very good. Entrée: Decided to go with the«Chefs Cut» steak. The steak was seasoned well cooked medium was a great flavor and tenderness. My steak was actually damn near perfect. Dessert: Caramelized popcorn, vanilla ice cream over a brownie. Self explanatory! Overall service was great and so was the meal. The location is prime. I literally saw Miley Cyrus outside of the restaurant and snapped some pics. I also hear this turns into a club so I might just have to check that out. I highly recommend!

Beautique really does live up to its name. The place is quite stunning, vibrant, and sexy. Our group, TWIP, had an event there and satisfied does not even begin to describe how we felt. Their chic lounge was perfect for mingling, drinks were fabulous and strong, and the staff were attentive and kind. I’ve never met a nicer door guy who was still so very professional. Thanks Matthew! Our bartender Rocky was great, too, and friendly with the banter. The events coordinator Anna is nothing less than a superstar. She is very patient and so so accommodating with our group. We really can’t wait to be back to Beautique, both for an event or just for a great night out. Thanks again!

Do not get the Gilt City voucher. The appetizers were awful, the entrée was awful and the dessert was awful. I ate an Amy’s frozen meal when I went home. I am not sure how this restaurant is for people not using the Gilt City voucher but my experience was pretty awful. We got a watered down version of the menu when we told the waiter we were using out Gilt Voucher. I’m sorry but isn’t the purpose of Gilt Vouchers to get new business and retain it? I will not be dining here again.

Came here for drinks with an old colleague and the restaurant stayed very quiet until about 9:30/10pm when it became bustling, overcrowded, and the crowd turned… Weird. Upon arrival, it took us a while to get drinks menus and for the bartender to even pay attention to us– despite the fact that there was no one there! The drinks are overpriced for what they were(more like juice). And the furniture is falling apart. It looks more like a rundown club than a classy dining establishment. I would not recommend

I did really enjoy my RW dinner at Beautique. I debated about giving it 4 stars but not sure its quite there. For appetizer, I had the fluke. It was a little underwhelming, just nothing special. I also tried my friend’s beet salad and it was just ok. The main courses were a different story. I had the branzino and it was amazing. Very light and buttery melts in your mouth. I also liked the green sauce that came with it. My friend had the hanger steak. It was also good and I really liked the corn dish it came with. For dessert I had the chocolate cake. It came with what looked like vanilla sorbet. I tasted that first but couldn’t place the flavor. It was tart. Turns out it was lychee which did not really go with the cake. The waiter brought us some salted caramel to make up for it, which was very nice. The cake was nice and chocolatey! I also tasted my friend’s lemon tart which was also good. Also I should mention that we bothed loved the maison martini. We tried the pear drink but it just tasted like a plain(but good) martini. All cocktails are $ 19. One other random note — the lighting is not good for food photography but it is romantic. Bottom line: good for restaurant week but not sure I would pay regular price.

Wasn’t quite sure what to make of it from the outside, just a simple scribble on a simple black awning. Once you walk in and down and the stairs, it’s got a very chic, modern look… with a very club like vibe. We had reservations and were promptly seated even though 1 of our party was late. Ordered a round of whatever Rose they had on hand and it was really light and refreshing, a nice start to the evening. The meal was fine. Presentation of food could use some help, my scallop dish was delicious but at first glance not so appetizing appearance wise. The accompanying foie gras sabayon was very well executed and the combo of flavors worked well. The sunflower butter given with the delicious warm raisin/current bread… uhhh why? It tasted so bitter. Stick to just regular good old butter please. The service though was so. freaking. SLOW and non existent. Chris our waiter was very nice and engaging but he would just disappear. The time between each course was ridiculously exaggerated and some of the clientele that shows up to this place… really need to save their money and stay home. There was a group of sad late middle aged men at the table behind us who were obnoxiously loudly complaining about cork falling into the bottle of wine over and over and over again. IT wasn’t that expensive of a bottle and you are no sommeliere sir so STFU. As the night progressed it became more of a club/bar scene than a restaurant and we could barely talk. I think once was enough.
