Definitely the best kept secret of all the BBQs in town. If you enjoy Dallas BBQ’s Texas Size drinks, Sticky or Henny Wings, Onion loaf etc. but can’t deal with the decibel levels of most other BBQs… please do yourself a favor and come to this one. There is a HAPPYHOUR where the full drink menu is discounted. We like to get pitchers upon pitchers of white sangria(pro tip: replace whatever liquor they suggest with VODKA), I enjoy the Frozen Strawberry Margherita with a sugared rim(!!!) Favorite plates are: Fried Shrimp platter with macaroni and cheese and greens, Sticky Wings, Chicken and Ribs combo, okay so basically everything on the menu.

Did not like the bbq pulled pork sandwich, poorly made, poor presentation, too simple, bread was cold… I feel like they just threw the pork in the bread and put it on plate literally, like a fast food restaurant type of thing

Food was aweful, service average and the restaurant needs to be renovated and the bathrooms cleaned…

I really wanna give them only 2 stars but I did like the cornbread very tasty and the guy who took my order was super nice. Didn’t ask for his name but he was a nice guy. The soup I didn’t even touch did t look appetizing and the rice was just ok. Chicken was not the greatest I had but price to amount ratio is just right. Again bumped them up an extra 2 stars just cause the kid tKing my order was extremely polite and nice.

My least favorite BBQ spot even though it is not a part of the real chain it sure does try and mimic it identically from the menu of food to the frozen drinks. The food at BBQS is already nasty alone so imagine how bad the food is at this place! The drinks are cheaper because they are smaller. Although they taste similar they are not better. The wait staff is always questionable and it’s never exceptional. If your not too lazy to trek to 23rd I advise you to do so!

I really wanted to rate this place 4 stars based off the drink specials/size and the service but I always enjoy food during happy hour but this is not the place to do both. So I leave it at 3.5ish… We went during happy hour(5 – 7). The drinks are huge(Texas size –20 oz), cheap -$ 5.99, and strong. For $ 1.50 more you can add another shot to your already strong drink. The waiter was super friendly and did recognize my friend as a regular. He gave us shots on the house which is always great. I had the long island drink and after a while I did start getting hungry. My friends all had entrees so I decided to try a side of Mac & Cheese and cornbread. It was tiny and I bland. I think microwaved mac and cheese taste better.

The food is nothing special nor the drinks. Yes, they give you a huge glass for your drinks which is like sooo rare in Manhattan, but yet everything else is pretty underwhelming. The restaurant is also pretty dirty. I peaked into their kitchen and got kind of nervous about eating my food. Anyways, ordered the full rack of baby back ribs that came with corn bread and mashed potatoes. The corn bread was incredibly dry. The ribs were okay, but they were ribs! No ribs ever taste bad. Also had a pulled pork sandwich which was kind of sad looking after being microwaved. There was also a lot of loud noises coming from downstairs… maybe it is a club? idk there were a lot of girls in like short clothes kept coming out from downstairs. Very strange. Overall, I don’t think I would ever go back. Having so many other dining options by NYU, i would skip this place.

Listen closely I am a regular at this place and here is why: Its cheap… Yea. So I have come here with my boyfriend and gotten both of us drunk for $ 13. I just brought in my birthday here and had a blast. I go to the bar downstairs. I’m not a fan of the service upstairs I’m positive I get my food and service much faster at the bar and the cleanliness upstairs vs downstairs is no different. The place is dirty rachet ghetto idk how it’s still open. Bathrooms are terrifying and I’m sure behind the walls this place is held together with duct tape. Staff is so nice here. Its not like the place is cheap and that’s all they have going for them. They are nice, if you know what to order u got a great meal. And if you come here with a group of real friends ready to get drunk and wild you will definitely come back again. Well Drinks are $ 5. Top shelf is $ 10. Shots $ 4 – 6. Order the shrimp apetizer, seafood sampler, large rack ribs, and half chicken. The chef I think is always different so these are foods that have the most consistency. Ie: the mac n cheese is either the best or worst u ever tasted here. I order it anyway cuz«sometimes» its soooo good. Crowd is different. Lately its mostly young african american gay males, but during school breaks all the underage white girls from nyu tear this place apart. Sometimes its packed and sometimea its dead. You never know, thats y u bring friends or friend. Bring some purel and baby wipes, and friends and you are in for a $ 20 epic night!

This review is based off of a single visit to BBQ. I used to go to the regular BBQ(non DALLAS kind) like 4 years ago and I loved it because the menu was pretty similar to Dallas’ but much cheaper and I liked the different items on their menu too, they had one in soho and then it closed down. So when I found this one I was sooooo excited because I thought it was over for the(non DALLAS) BBQs lol. Anyway, I went with a friend and of course I read the reviews before going; they had me nervous as hell! I wasn’t sure what to order, I was nervous that I’d see a rat pop out; I thought the food might be nasty. But let me tell you, it was GREAT! I ordered the 2 piece fried chicken with fries and a frozen Long Island and blue Hawaii piña. My chicken was DELICIOUS!!! There wasn’t a piece of chicken left on those bones lol. Flavorful, juicy, hot, and perfectly crispy. I read the other reviews about the chicken and idk if I got lucky but I sure was happy. My fries were good, my drinks were strong, and all was well. Our waiter was new and took FOREVERRRRRRR which was annoying but he was nice and I looked over that because he was new. He still took too damn long tho lol. We were there for like 3+ hours. I’d def go back!

This is the poor man version of Dallas BBQ. The menu are almost the same. The food was good and well portion sized but the real bright spot for this place is the Drinks!!! I def recommend the frozen Long Island Ice Tea it has plenty of alcohol and taste good. Came here during happy hours with friends mixed drinks was on point. My only issue is the beer selection. They ran out just about every beer on tap from bud light to blue moon. How do you run out of bud light? Disappointing

Do not come here for a classy night. This place is awesome for various reasons. 1. They are a cheap replica of Dallas BBQ. The menus are pretty much identical, with much cheaper prices. The food is good and the portions are big. 2. They have a ratchet club downstairs with a full bar and random music and a lot of drunk people. You can also order food downstairs and pay at the bar. So I have been here several thousand times, at least. My coworkers and I LOVE this place. We can eat upstairs and drink or go downstairs and dance and get trashed. You have the best of both worlds. One time there was a rat running around upstairs… yeah… Come here with a big group of your most degenerate friends and you will have a great time.

Um… Ok so I honestly skeeve this place lol But definitely go for the cheap drinks. And sit at the bar too, sometimes they’ll slip you a free shot. If you are the first customer at the bar when it opens at 4pm you get the first drink on the house which is dope. The chicken soup, mashed potatoes and fries are good. But when you walk in the dining room and your shoes stick to the floor, or you open the ketchup bottle and there’s some brown stuff under the cap that looks like it’s been growing there over the past year… don’t say I didn’t warn you.

How do they do it? Amazing BBQ… fast!!! I’m talking light speed here. I stopped by for lunch today with a couple of co-workers. Lunch hour always seems to fly by so fast so I was very impressed with the service. The menu has decent BBQ fare at very competitive prices. I ordered the Full Rack of Baby Back Ribs off the BBQ Platters menu and it was only $ 10.99 including fresh corn bread and fries. That’s a great deal! All of their platters come with corn bread and your choice of French fries, baked potato, rice, macaroni and cheese, mashed potatoes or cole slaw. So when the waitress took our order she told us they’d be out in 5-minutes. Really, 5-minutes? …she was right! This was unbelievable. I realize the food was already prepped but the food came out faster than a diner. Even more impressive was the fact that this food was good, really good. The ribs were slathered with sauce(appropriately) and tasted delicious. My coworker opted for the pulled pork sandwich($ 5.99) and was equally impressed. I’ve also had the wings here on an earlier trip, they make a great appetizer. Go for the Spicy Big Wings 5 for $ 7.99. Now, are you ready for the best part, let’s talk Happy Hour Specials. From Noon to 7pm. Draft 12oz. domestic beers only $ 3.00! 20oz. Texas size beers $ 4.50! Oh baby. Margaritas are $ 3.00(Texas size 20oz. ‘ritas are $ 5.99) This place is easily one of my new favorite stops in town. If you don’t have time to sit they do take out too! Stop by if you’re in the area and enjoy. Don’t miss Happy Hour.

Truthfully I don’t even wanna tell you about this little spot because it is so clutch that I would hate for too many people to start coming here. BUT for the sake of Unilocaling I will share. This place is awesome! I don’t think it’s a legit BBQ like BBQBBQ but man it does all the same stuff so it doesn’t even matter! I had a frozen Long Island Iced Tea. If you have learned nothing about me and alcohol please take this time out to understand that I like to get drunk QUICKLY and for cheap and if I can make that happen on something frozen even BETTER! Frozen is always better. This place made all the things I love the most happen so easily. Seating was immediate. We sat at a nice little table towards the back. We noticed a lot of other young groups at tables as well. This must be the spot. Our waitress was a doll. Very knowledgeable about the menu(Not like it’s the most intense menu) and she was great with making suggestions. Super attentive and not in the slightest bit annoying. I had a mexican salad. Guacamole. Corn. Fresh salad. Did I mention the jalapeño? Ugh. AMAZINGGG! It was delicious and I swallowed it up. I also tried some of my friends fries. Nice and crispy and seasoned to perfection. Good fries are hard to come by. These were def yummy. Back to these frozen LITs. DELICIOUS! Didn’t melt too quickly and along with the other frozen drink I had they were both good but this was by far my favorite. Maybe because I’ve never had a frozen Long Island this was so special to me. I was NICE after splitting the LIT and the other daiquiri I had. Cheap cheap cheap. The bill was pretty much nothing for the three of us. And we bought 5 delicious and strong drinks. This is not the fanciest of spots and thats a-okay by me. Definitely some place I’ll be stopping back in to.

If I could give this place zero stars I would. I had to call the police because they over charged my credit card and refused to fix the bill. Do not go here! I had to call the police for the establishment to return my money. It was a waste of money for the taxpayers of New York and a waste of my evening. The food is dry and doesn’t taste well. Service is terrible.

It’s really not a bad alternative to Dallas BBQ-hence the copycat menu, especially if you are just going for the drinks that are incredibly cheap. I agree with many of the reviews before me. It’s one of the places around NYU that is really no frills that is super affordable and can accommodate a large group of people. I had a turkey burger here which was decent and on the other times I was here, I sampled their tostones, wings, rice, salad and pulled pork sandwich. Wings were huge but tasted more like Chinese take out than anything. Rice seemed to be goya with excessive seasoning. Tostones also seemed to by goya as well. A bit cold and dry although it came with a yummy chipolte mayo. Pulled pork sandwich was decent except it was a bit cold. So I don’t know if I would come here on my own unless it was just for super cheap drinks with a group.

2.5 stars. Looking for a subway-accessible spot for a large group of people interested in getting drunk cheaply? This is your place! Simply named BBQ(ITTOOKMEFOREVERTOFINDON Unilocal), the highlights of their menu are the gigantic margaritas(happy hour is $ 5 for a large frozen, on the rocks cost extra) and test tube shots($ 1.50). Food is a cross between Denny’s and KFC, and priced accordingly. Inexplicably, the menu also has an asian flair, with some tempura offerings. It’s pretty obvious the clientele here is NYU kids, not foodies, but the service was polite, the mac and cheese decent, and the alcohol potent.

I came here with a friend for dinner tonight, and ordered the southern fried chicken meal. When it came, the chicken was black and dried out — It was inedible. The waitress came over and took it away when I told her what was wrong, and came back a few minutes later«The cook said he had to cook it that long to make sure it was done.» Done? This was dead and black! Cole slaw was meh. Iced tea wasn’t that good but I drank it anyway. They then brought me a quarter chicken meal which was pretty juicy but lacking any real flavor. My friend felt bad for me and gave me one of her chicken tenders, which was actually really good. So… just go a few blocks over or up to the real Dallas BBQ.

It’s amazing what can happen when you dine sober. The prices still look fantastic: a rack of baby back ribs for $ 10, that comes with a side of mash. $ 2 side of collard greens. $ 3 side of macncheese. Then you realize why the prices are so under the table. The baby backs looked like babies and tasted like backs. The mash seemed really bland. Then again, if I was drunk, I probably would’ve known to add an obscene amount of salt. The things I do while sober. The collard greens were ok but I’m slowly starting to realize that is not a suitable vitamin-friendly veggie. Just sayin’. Oh yea, and me being sober = only one pitcher of sangria. $ 55 for 4 people isn’t anything to complain about. I’m not crying or wetting my pants. I’m just sayin’, I wish I didn’t leave so hungry. And geez, I went from two 5 star reviews to a 3 star. Dammmmmn, put the macaroni on my cheese.
