Thinking about coming here? Be prepared its OVERPRICED!!! They literally charged me $ 15.24 for half a gallon of milk and a standard sized box of Captain crunch cereal. That is almost double the price you would pay anywhere else, just a 2 minute walk away(go to West Bank Gourmet or even Duane Reade, or the Amish Market). Do yourself a favor, go anywhere else.

Used Chef Robert’s catering services. Top notch service and food. Got it right the first time. The beef was delicious. Our party was a hit because of his suggestions and delicious food preparation. Would definitely use him again.

Just moved in to FiDi and was looking for a nearby grocery and market and thanks to our trusty Unilocalers, I found this place. A good 8 minute walk from my place, I braved the cold and found this worth checking out. It’s not a big space but it’s a good place to start if you needed some essentials. I needed eggs, salt, pepper, protein bars, coffee, Splenda, ketchup, water, and I was craving for some serious good steak so I needed to get meat and found a good piece of dry angus sirloin to cook for dinner. All of these, I found here! Worth sharing too that they have fresh fruits and ice cream and desserts and some basic meds as well. What’s great is they have a café in the middle in case you need hot coffee and drinks and pastries, ready made food to go, saw some cooked chicken and ribs etc, salad station, pasta choices and sandwiches. When I was there late in the evening, they had a buy one take one thing going on, in case you want to take advantage of that. :) ATM machine at the far back too, should you need to get cash. Best part is the Unilocal offer of — $ 10 if you purchase anything above $ 50 when you check in. That’s not a bad savings at all! Oh and they deliver within the area! They gave me their menu and this definitely might just come in handy with the weather! =)

The staff here is absolutely wonderful. Great place to pick up groceries with an interesting selection. Premade food is delicious and healthy.

Good selection of organic products and delicatessen. A bit overpriced but so is everything else in this neighborhood

Pretty large store with a lot of different variety. The food is stuff you won’t necessarily find at other local groceries.

I don’t know if this is the same place as 240 battery place market but I’m talking about 240 the customer service is a 5 but the food is really outdated they serve the same thing over and over again… Please change your chef or wake him up cause he need to really come up with some new stuff… P. S I don’t like when they serve left over from lastnite

They definitely have some solid offerings but they are really expensive. My wife and I bought ice cream there the other day and I paid $ 19 for two pints of ice cream! That’s a bit steep! They have high quality products there for sure though but don’t expect the staff to be super friendly or helpful — they barely know where stuff is!

Just way too narrow in odd places; even if they do carry Pie Corps pies and some other nice items, I won’t be back because of the poor experience. The ketchup sample guy took up the entire entrance/exit once you passed the overfilled entry/exit that unnecessarily only fits one thin person at a time. Different from ?

Their prices are ridiculously high, but there really isn’t another place to go in the area. It’s the only place in the neighborhood to get a decent coffee drink too. I was once charged $ 8 for a cucumber. Yes you saw that correctly $ 8 for ONE cucumber. When I asked why I was told it was because it was Organic and was politely directed to their non-organic cucumbers. I don’t remember how much it cost me but I think it was only $ 1 or something. This was a year ago so I don’t know if they still charge $ 8 for their organic cucumbers. One organic doughnut costs $ 2.50… but they are large(almost the size of 2 dunkin donuts) and incredibly yummy. There prepared food is ok, but not much variety for people watching their carb intake

Too expensive in general. I miss their pasta specials where they cooked the pasta for you, that wasn’t bad at all… It’s kind of an oasis, since it takes blocks and blocks to walk to any alternative, so I guess it could be worst. The service is also pretty friendly and they do tend to have interesting stuff in the bulk food section. I like the fact you can haggle for the sandwiches.

Really nice people. Great fresh food and produce. NY prices, but not exorbitant. Great coffee! You should not be disappointed here.

If I lived in NYC, I would be a regular at this spot. GREAT selection of organic /gluten-free… products at reasonable prices(for NYC). Though I didn’t get any, the prepared food looked delicious and there was a big variety.

I’ll be completely honest– I came in here to use the restroom. We had been walking around for a while, and needed to use the facilities. Of course, I know it’s customary to purchase something if you use the restroom, so I set off to buy something small. My first impression was that this was a typical, pretentious Manhattan«organic, better for you» unnecessarily expensive shopping locale. But as soon as I stepped out, I was greeted with smiles from all staff. No exaggeration here– everyone from the barista to floor staff and everyone in between greeted me with a smile and asked if I needed help. I walked out of there with a delicious latte and a reasonably priced fruit bowl. The cashier was so pleasant, thanked me for shopping and had so much energy for late in the day! Come again? Sure I will!

This place has always startled me with their prices, but their cheerful attentive staff has always swayed me over, until last night when I and my girlfriend showed up for a quick dinner round-up at 8:20. The staff had already cleared out the ready to eat refrigerated cases, and not one of them wanted to make eye contact. I had to kindly ask them to take a rotisserie chicken out from under plastic wrap. Then I asked them if they had any veggies left in the five stacks of metal food trays. When I couldn’t make out his mumbled answers I had to painstakingly point to ask what was in the top three or four containers — the young guy helping me didn’t think to just run through a list of veggies, the older guys around him either disappeared or didn’t care to tell the young guy to just tell me what my choices were– which would have sped things along, and we would’ve been happy to be out of their hair with our dinner. It was only 8:20. But the three guys seemed too busy with shutting down and putting things away to help a customer. I was treated like they were doing me a favor. The checkout experience was no better. No eye contact from the cashier, just a discourteous demand for«$ 21.38,» and a passive-aggressive how-dare-you-come-in-so-close-to-closing-time body language while handing over my receipt, with his head turned away — so as to be dismissive and rejoin his coworkers in giggly cackling kicking-back idle time. Management: Neither I nor any of your customers owe you our patronage. If your staff feels no obligation to show their appreciation to their customers, either we customers will stop visiting, or you should select better and train more thoroughly. If your staff despises me and other customers, and lack the self-control and professionalism to hide it, then you should encourage them to seek employment at your competitors, lest your business continue to under perform. Is that what your investors want? Your sales receipt identifies my transaction with: Cashier 1, Station 1, Invoice No: –261, 8:34:37PM. Whereas a Duane Reade receipt provides the same info, but in ways that allow for accountability, redress and quality improvements.

Too funny, I love you and hate you all in the same breath. Fabulous deli selection, great meals you make up for the evening. And the fruit, pastry selection is awesome. Oh and Stumptown Coffee — yahh. But you are pricey. I mean off the chart in some things. Seriously $ 10 for a pound of butter? Come on. I may live in the Financial District, and earn more than a minimum wage, but hell I am going to be wallet raped and walk out smiling. Tweak the pricing and I would be a fan.

Battery Place Market is easily the go-to place for fresh food and grocery produce in the Battery Place neighborhood. While prices are certainly higher than your typical food store around the city, you’d be hard pressed to find a place with such good selection of freah, organic, and gourmet foods that are perfect for lunch and dinner. The staff is very friendly, and it is led by an awesome head chef, Anthony. While the other BPM at 240 Murray St services the office crowd at lunch and has a better espresso machine, this location offers much better variety. Personal highlights include a delicious latte by a lovely barista and the delicious sandwiches.

Must be a great convenience if you live in BPC. But my, the prices! Good for: Sullivan Street bread, Dough donuts and Robicellis cupcakes. Problem is at 12pm they only had 1 flavor of each available!

To the corporate bees working in the food wasteland called Battery Park, the complete renovation of Goldman Sachs Alley is a much needed metamorphosis. No longer do I have to run to Rite Aid to grab Chex Mix and Lindor truffles and call it a lunch! The latest addition, Battery Place Market(open from 6:30 am til 7 or 8 pm I think), has become a new magnet for my unhealthy junk food addiction. This place sells Dough doughnuts. As in the artisan Doughnut Plant-esque doughnuts. As in the doughnuts that come in Lemon Merengue, Chai Tea, Dulce de Leche, Coconut, Nutella Bombolini, Blood Orange, Raspberry varieties for $ 2.50. I’m regretting typing this, since some of you will snatch them up before I make my daily runs now, so I suggest you pick up the Robicelli cupcakes for $ 2.75 or the $ 1 Sullivan St Bakery cookies instead. Their food tends to be slightly expensive, but when you’re neighbors with $ 7 burgers from Shake Shack, $ 11 salads from Beans & Greens, $ 4 croissants from Payard, i guess you’ve got to join in with the competitive pricing. The $ 6.75 Greek salad is a good steal though, and their Chicken Caesar has quickly become part of my lunch rotation. The sandwiches have been good albeit pricier than what I’ve gotten at Devon & Blakely, but there is a marked different in quality(Tuscan Ham baguette sandwich for $ 8 was good and I imagine the Steak baguette sandwich with truffle aioli for $ 10 is good as well). Since it’s just opened, coming here at 12 has been a breeze. No fellow office drones to scream over when I’m telling the sandwich guy what I want, no lines, and a place to finally indulge my insatiable doughnut cravings.

A little too expensive I dont come here that often as items are too expensive. Fine in a pinch if you are desperate, and also a good place to get a food or bakery gift. Produce quality is okay but lower than whole foods for the same price. The store is clean and looks good so i give it three stars instead of two. Basically this store is for high income folks or singles who have a lot of discretionary income.
