Amazing venue. Came here on in December for a company holiday party. The place itself is really very pretty with great views, sadly it was too cold to do anything outdoors. There were two floors, the main walk in floor and the 2nd floor with the dance floor and balcony. My group and I sat at a table that was inside the tented extension — it was poorly set up and allowed cold air to come through so every once in a while I had to slice the makeshift door back on the hinge to block the wind. Service — You could tell that some of the people really didn’t want to be there. The woman behind of the stations gave me an attitude and looked offended when I asked her for food lol The bus boys came by pretty frequently to clear the tables and one of them accidentally spilled coffee all over one of our Christmas cards — didn’t apologize, didn’t try to clean it, just walked away like nothing happened. The food was good but not amazing, it’s what I would expect from a $ 25 buffet. — Seafood Paella — Beef — Pasta — Salad — Potato — Charcuterie — Desert: Cookies, Brownies, Tea, Coffee

Walked through in late December while most things are closed here. The grounds are well kept and look like they are just beautiful in summer time. Did not spend too much time here as it was cold and closed. But the views of the Statue of Liberty were nice.

Went here on New Year’s Day with a large group of friends for lunch and had such a great experience. The food was amazing, the atmosphere was perfect. Paul, the owner was there and so sweet.

Atmosphere: Nicely decorated inside. Can’t say much on the waiting service, because I was attending a holiday event, but everything was clean, well put together, and the DJ played all of our requested songs. Food: Pretty good! Seafood, steak, chicken, and some vegetarian options available, buffet style. Drinks: Strong! Especially if you tipped the bartender :) Overall: Would recommend for a private event. Balcony, food, and drinks right on the waterfront makes for a great night out.

My Husband and I got married three weeks ago at Battery Gardens. The day after Thanksgiving 11/27/2015. The best word that I can think of to describe our wedding is «Magical! Battery Gardens, Michele Cavallero(Senior Catering Manager), Eddie(Maitre D) and their entire staff, gave 200% of excellence in their service, attention to detail, and their natural ability to make you feel like Royalty! Not only did my husband and I feel this way, but so did all of our guests! From the first day of meeting with Paul(the owner), and Michele Cavallero, regarding having our wedding at Battery Gardens, I was met with love, warmth and total confidence that they would ensure that our wedding day be nothing but special, full of elegance and grace. TOWHICHITWAS! Michele was so sweet, very knowledgeable and patient. I left that day, with a folder full of information, services and vendors, which I used as a guide in getting started with the wedding planning. As the days, weeks and Months went by, I kept constant communication with Michele, who was always attentive, quick responding and very helpful with anything and everything I needed. As many have mentioned in previous reviews, Michele really took on the role of a wedding coordinator! She has got to be the best at what she does! Her natural ability to work with you, on every detail as if she is your sister, or best friend, really caring and helping to try to make the wedding planning process as pleasant and memorable as it can be. She was always there to give advice when needed, make a suggestions when needed, give you comfort and assurance when needed. She effortlessly made everything come together! I can’t believe how amazing she was to my husband and I, especially knowing that she has lots of other clients, brides/grooms and event planners turning to her for many things regarding many other functions. I had full faith that Michele would be an intricate part of making our wedding beautiful and special, and TRULYINDEEDSHEWAS! We are beyond Grateful to her, for her time and her ability to see and execute the vision we had, making our wedding the most beautiful wedding I have seen yet! And I’ve been to lots of weddings! Call me bias, but this is exactly how Michele and her«A» team staff, made my Husband and I feel! In addition to Battery Gardens having the amazing Michele, we were also very pleasantly happy to have the Maitre D Eddie, and the best team/staff there, who were all extremely professional, attentive, loving and amazing! Eddie was so involved with making sure that all of the small details were executed in accordance with the program planned for the evening. He gently gave me special attention in going over every little detail, which gave me reassurance that I had nothing to worry about, because he had it all under control. At a time when all you want is for everything to turn out perfect, I found his efforts to be very calming and relaxing, which is exactly what I needed at the start of the night. Eddie and Michele made everything flow so perfectly, from the start of the ceremony through the Introductions. I loss any nervousness or worries, I may have had, and was truly able to take in every bit of the perfection that the night had to offer! We had the time of our lives! My Husband and I thoroughly got to enjoy the night! Thanks to Eddie, every event planned for the night was executed perfectly and beautifully! The night was truly better than we could have ever imagined! Days following the wedding, my husband and I began to get text messages and phone calls from our guests raving about the service they received by the staff. The white Glove service provided by the staff was exceptional! Every guest was given special attention for all of their individual needs, never having an empty glass on the table and also treated with lots of love, and warmth! Everyone I’ve spoken to has not stop raving about how amazing the entire night was, and that is because of everyone at Battery Gardens! We also have not stopped hearing about how amazing the food was! The cocktail hour was delicious! The carving station was absolutely amazing, and was a huge hit of the night! Prime Rib and Short ribs had to be the most succulent beef, I have ever tasted. The Paella Station was so flavorful, and full of delicious seafood and chicken. The Seafood Station was absolutely amazing. The lamb chops were so tender and full of flavor. All of the appetizers served during the cocktail hour, could not have been more delicious! The Dinner served during the reception was just as delicious! All of the food served at Battery Gardens went far beyond my expectations. Not only were we filled with joy to be able to receive such amazing service, on the most important event of our lives, but being able to enjoy such wonderful food with our friends and family(who are still raving about it all) made our wedding worth everything we put into planning it! It was Perfect!

I came here for the first time with relatives visiting from out of state. I figured it was a good touristy place to take them with nice views of the Statue of Liberty and surrounding area. It was also Thanksgiving day, so we have the fixed price menu for $ 60.00 per person. Unfortunately there was nothing vegetarian as the main course which is a bit irritating but not unexpected, at a place like this. battery gardens is a little surreal as it doesn’t seem like anywhere a real New Yorker would go– it’s very touristy with a sort of middle of the road ambience and level of service to match. The first thing I noticed was the butter served with our bread, had a very distinct freezer burnt taste to it; I knew it would be all downhill from there, and it kind of was … Rather mediocre but edible food; nothing tasted particularly fresh. I was also a bit vexed that our table wobbled half the meal until we begged a waiter to fix it.

Had lunch with my wife and daughter and it was a wonderful experience. The owner Paul(Uncle Pauly) came over to the table and gave us first class service. I had the Sea Bass which was absolutely delightful. My daughter had the bolognese pasta and my wife had the crab cakes and we were all very happy. At the end of the meal, Uncle Pauly took us into the kitchen and gave us a tour and then brought us a tray of desserts to share. Great food. Great ambiance. Great service. Great host!

My husband and I worked with Alex in the year leading up to our wedding this past September and we couldn’t ask for someone more professional, knowledgeable, and patient to help us plan our big day. We worked with him and his chefs to tailor a menu to reflect my Latino culture and my husband’s Indian culture. We appreciated the creative, authentic, and delicious food and so did our guests. He and his team, especially Eddie were outstanding especially on the day of in making sure all went smoothly. We had an unforgettable time and look forward to returning to the restaurant to celebrate anniversaries! Thank you Alex and Eddie.

Battery Gardens restaurant is as good as it get at the tip of Manhattan with a view of The Statue of Liberty . I have had the pleasure of enjoying this wonderful place several times. The food is excellent and served stylish and amazing, no matter if you are a party of two or ten or twenty or a New Years Eve Party of hundreds. The service is excellent and the staff great .We recently celebrated an office reunion and everyone enjoyed a beautiful evening, being right on the water and looking at all the boats passing by and enjoying the best food and service ever. If you wonder what to do a nice beautiful day or evening go down to The Battery Gardens and enjoy the food and this wonderful part of NYC.

Went to a crazy lavish wedding — very good time was had. The views were incredible(great balcony), service was very friendly and attentive, food was great, and it was overall fantastic. Downside was the place could use a little facelift, and the bathroom was gross. All in all, a more than solid spot!

I love to eat and experience new places. I decided to go to this place within walking distance and loved the view. I liked my salad and was ok with my drink. I was overcharged for a Prix Fixe menu(they didn’t see my salad as covered and charged me for it) and the server put in my dessert wrong. It took 45 minutes to fire up my medium rare salmon and the second time they sent it out, the salmon was still overcooked. I just left it. I will not be back again.

This is a review solely for the Beer Garden at Battery Gardens, not the restaurant or catering hall. This is a very straight forward no frills beer garden. They have $ 5 draft pints of a number of Victory Brewing Company and $ 16 pitchers(yes, please) and about various craft 10 bottles for $ 7 each. They also have red & white wine for the non-beer drinkers. No hard liquor, you have to go inside the restaurant for that. There is also a grill with reasonably priced grill foods such as brats, burgers, corn on the cob and hot dogs. The space is about a dozen outdoor tables and chairs with high hedges around. It’s nice to be outside but the only view is of the other people enjoying this secret garden. Its great for an after work drink or as a quick beer and snack break if you are touristing around FiDi. It’ll be interesting to see how long this stays open. For now, its a cheap drink oasis in a sea of over priced beverages. Three cheers for this summer pop up drinking endeavor!

In terms of fine dining, there are way better options in NYC than Battery Gardens. I only decided to reserve a Valentine’s Day dinner on Thursday, so I had very limited options. The restaurant looked beautiful in the pictures online, and I wanted to stay downtown, so I gave this place a try. The most annoying part about Battery Gardens is its lack of address, making the location very hard to find. Good luck explaining to your confused cab driver where this place is. Also, cars can’t directly stop in front of the restaurant, so be prepared to walk some distance in the cold and probably in heels. Another disappointment is that you probably won’t witness any of the view advertised. Quite frankly, Battery Park is dead at night and looks kind of creepy, so you will probably be staring into darkness instead. The restaurant was very empty for Valentine’s Day. When I came here with my girl friend, the restaurant only had 3 tables filled, making the atmosphere a little awkward. The service was on point, but not unusual for the price. Waiters and the hostess were amicable and did their best to satisfy my table’s needs. No complaints there. Now to the food, it was a $ 75 dollar prix fixe menu. The food itself was good, but again nothing spectacular for the price paid. Appetizers: Tuna tatare and pumpkin soup Main Course: Miso Glazed Chilean Sea Bass and Lamb Osso Bucco Dessert: Raspberry and Dark Chocolate Ganache Tart and Warm Banana and Passionfruit Crepes *The standouts from the meal were the Sea Bass that came with rice at the bottle that added a unique touch and also the complimentary chocolate covered strawberries in the end. Although there wasn’t anything terribly wrong, I don’t think I would come back considering how out of the way this restaurant is.

Beautiful park for a stroll or to walk your dog. Lots of history and a great view of the Hudson and the Statue of Liberty. You can also catch the ferry there to take a tour of the statue or Ellis Island. You can also catch a beautiful view of the new Freedom Tower. If you like squirrels, they’ll come up & eat food right out of your hands! There are also tons of food carts & trinket stalls outside of the park. You are in walking distance of Wall Street, the Bull statue, several subway lines, great restaurants… go & explore!

Beautiful wedding venue with a perfect view of Hudson river and the Statue of Liberty. There were a variety of food options at the cocktail hour ranging from pita with hummus, fruits, and grilled vegetables; hot items such as ziti, chicken with penne and a variety of meat options. The dinner portions were large and the main entrée had two options. I chose the red snapper and received a large portion of fish that coupled with dinner satisfied my food cravings. The fish was well seasoned as where the vegetables it was paired with. The venue had a large dance floor, an outdoor patio to taken the view, and fit their 150 guests with ease. The only two issues that arose were the cocktail hour appetizers were not refilled fast enough and I didn’t see an elevator for those with disabilities. Other than that it was a wonderful experience and a great place to celebrate my friend’s big day.

This review is for our amazing experience with our wedding. If you are thinking about having a wedding in NYC, there are three reasons why you should have it at Battery Gardens Restaurant. 1. Michele Cavallero. She was basically my day of wedding coordinator. She is an event manager there and is such a pro that I swear she could do weddings for a living. From day 1, she was so nice and so accommodating. Always response to your emails and questions, always sweet, but not too sweet day of because she gets stuff done and she is the only one(besides Eddie the maitre’d) that ensures everything is on time and executes without at hitch. I cannot praise her enough for everything that she’s done to make our wedding EXACTLY what we imagined it to be. She helped us plan timelines, helped us arrange vendors, and was honest with us 100% of the way. Michele was an integral part of the best night of our lives! 2. The venue. The view is fantastic. Even though I had clouds the entire evening, the view is still appreciated and you can’t beat those glass walls. I saw an image of the venue on Google and thought to myself, that is really beautiful but must be photo enhanced for the website. I swear to you, when I saw what the venue looked like before guests got there, I got chills and couldn’t believe how beautiful it was. Granted I had a great florist, but the restaurant is positioned so that all guests face the tip of Manhattan and overlooks the surrounding body of water and you can’t go wrong with the photos. Also, the day of, the girls and I got ready in the bridal suite which has plenty of room and the staff ensures you have everything you need. Water, champagne, fruit/cheese plates, tea/coffee, etc. Everything about the venue is seamless. 3. The food. I know the reviews on here have sub par food reviews, but perhaps the venue is just exceptional at large group events. The food was excellent and I have several fellow Unilocalers agreeing with me. The tasting was one of my favorite parts of the entire process, and I was so happy with the menu we chose. It was exactly what I would have hoped for. The cocktail hour even gave us a signature drink. And the venue allowed me to bring in my own oysters and had them shucked! The appetizer and veg option of papparedelle with mushrooms was soooo good. Arugala salad is my favorite and everyone enjoyed it. Entrée wise, we chose what we thought were the best — filet mignon and chilean sea bass. Sounds so generic, I know, but trust me it was delicious.(They even ask how you want the steak cooked so you know it’s made to order!!) All in all, very very happy with the food. 4. The price. I don’t know how we lucked out but the price per guest was so reasonable that we couldn’t say no and I am still impressed to this day at how great this venue is for the price, especially in Manhattan. This place will forever hold a special place in my heart and I would recommend it to anyone who wants to get married in Manhattan!

Came here for a work event — the service was solid and the bars were well-stocked. The food was meh, nothing exciting about cheese and hot appetizers, the snapper at dinner was a bit tougher than expected, the salad was understated but good, and the dessert reminded me of something I put together as a kid(cake with cool whip and some fruit in a cup). To be clear: I don’t know if the event was catered, but if this was the food from the venue, I was not impressed. Still, hard to beat the views of the Statue of Liberty. Downside: construction in Battery Park meant a really long walk around. But it does have a great view, a lot of weddings go on here, and I can see why. They have all the audio/visual for business meetings and weddings, so that was easy for the organizers. Definitely paying for the pleasure of the view. Much better food options elsewhere.

Battery Gardens Restaurant has a stellar view of the NYC harbor and Statue of Liberty. Location & view are great. Our party of 4 sat outside on a warm summer day. The menu offers varied selections, including a $ 35 price fixe selection, which includes and appetizer, a main and a dessert. A full bar menu as well as a wine menu is available. We ordered a bottle of California Chardonnay for $ 40. Lunch was reasonably good, wine was reasonably priced for NYC, service was very spotty(unorganized and slow). Dessert was brought out before our main was cleared… So while the chipwich ice cream sounded good, my waiter brought it out, saw our table hadn’t been cleared and returned it to a waiting area and returned 10 minutes later with a soupy mess. Here’s my summary: Friends, location and views — A+ Food — B Service — C

Toller Blick, ruhige(!) sonnige Terrasse downtown Mannhatten, Pizza amerikanisch, aber ganz lecker, da aus dem Holzofen. Personal sehr freundlich. Einzig der Kaffee taugt nichts, leider. Für mich der schönste Platz für sit down and relax in der Sonne zwischen all den anstrengenden Sightseeing Terminen. Übrigens der Rundflug-Heliport ist fußläufig zu erreichen.
