Pasta, pizza, ensaladas, sopas. Lugar ideal para parar a comer algo rápido, sin que sea fast food. La comida es sana y los alimentos frescos. Muy buena calidad. Como una ensalada muy apetitosa jaja. Limpio. Bien decorado. Excelente atencion

This was a solid stop for lunch in midtown. Nice tasting pasta and salads priced in the $ 10 range were spot on for taste and quality. We had the Penne Amatriciana and the Panzanella salad. The salad was huge and large enough to split. Clean restaurant and nice ambiance. They were accommodating with our stroller although I did not see high chairs. Get there early the lunch crowd starts right at noon but the line moved quickly and food was served hot. We’ll definitely be back to try the pizza and panini which also looked delish!

Stopped for lunch the other day after the normal lunch hour and ordered spaghetti and meatballs and a Sprite, $ 13. Went back to my desk and opened the container to three of the tiniest meatballs you could imagine and a strong pungent smell, I was trying to figure out if this was maybe an herb that I had never had before. I ate about 2 bites of the meatballs, sauce and pasta(which was under cooked) and threw this in the compost bin. Later on that night I had such bad stomach pains and spent a lot of time with the porcelain god. Will never ever go here again!

An old coworker picked this place for dinner to catch up. The staff was very friendly but the quality of food was just«okay.» They are right across the street from Bryant Park, I ordered a simple spaghetti with marinara sauce. I asked if bread came with the pasta, the cashier said yes. We were halfway done with our meal and the bread was no where in sight. We did however receive it once we were done with our pasta. This place is okay as a lunch spot during work but definitely not planning on going back for dinner.

Though I worked near this establishment for a few years, never once did I bother going in until lunch today. It’s a pretty pricey lunch at around $ 12 for something like my lasagna, but it tastes better than any of the Italian you could get at a nearby deli. I would classify this restaurant as «Italian». There were tables a-plenty during lunch time and no line at all — it’s not busy at all so don’t worry about crowds. I got a lasagna to stay — at $ 12, you could most definitely get a better lasagna in West Village or some other yummy Italian restaurant for the same price or a little more. You pay more for the convenience of it being in Midtown, I guess. The pasta was overcooked and a little mushy and the whole thing was pretty greasy and made me feel very unhealthy afterwards. There was not enough marinara sauce, either — only a small spoonful on the top of it. I think there was meat in this, but so little of it I could hardly tell. Not terrible, but not amazing. While the atmosphere and service were good, the food was just mediocre. I would come here just for convenience sake and probably get an overpriced pizza(it looked good) or a salad instead.

Food is ok, but that great. There is only one salt & pepper for the entire restaurant, which was very strange.

Food: 4 stars. Atmosphere: 3 stars. Wait time: 2 stars. Averages out around a solid 3 when it comes to lunch options. Every time I come here, I get lasagna, and I will say, it tastes great! Not a terrible price(about $ 13) for a decent portion that I can eat for lunch and snack on later. Friends have tried everything from salads to sandwiches to pizzas and likes their meals as well. Clearly, we’ve kept coming back when we want Italian-inspired food for lunch. The problem comes in when you count the service. Seriously, the people here can be downright rude. As in, one time, it took 20 minutes for my meal to come out, and when I went to ask about it, I was snapped at to just wait. Now, I get it, things get stressful in a restaurant at lunch time, but snapping at a customer? Not okay. Thankfully, one of my even more strongheaded than me coworkers beat me to demanding a manager, and someone finally checked into what was taking so long. Overall, the place is nice, but some meals take a long time, and they really shouldn’t, so many sure you’re vocal if your meal is taking an inordinate amount of time.

I have been to Barilla twice with my fiancé. Granted that the meals are large enough to share if needed. The soups are great. The salads are very large and I enjoyed it. The staff was really nice and asked if we needed anything.

This is a great lunch spot. I went there mid day and there wasn’t a huge wait but the food was fast and well priced. I had a hot sandwich and my girlfriend had a pizza and some meatballs. The food was petty good. If you are looking for a quick bite that is tasty I would swing in

The only restaurant in NYC that doesn’t have more than ONE rag to clean off the tables. Speaking of, the table after finally being wiped down after having had asked 10min prior smelled like they cleaned their sole rag in a bucket of piss! Not to mention the rag looked like they also used it to wipe the floors. People here are lazy, when you politely ask for someone to kindly do their job they wanna give you attitude. With the thousands of other options in NYC I won’t ever be back to this place! Food is 2 stars in case you were wondering.

THEREIS A PUSHPININMYPASTA!!! I ordered a delivery and found this thing in my pasta!!! I almost ate it!!! This is unbelievable. Been trying to call the restaurant but no one answers. I’ve seen flies in my salad before from another place, but this push pin just takes things to a whole new level!!! UNBELIEVABLE!!! What if I had ate it!!! This restaurant could have put me in ER!!!

Chocolate croissant was good enough but nothing to write home about. Pastry wasn’t super buttery though. Not many people here in the morning. Décor was nice enough. Feels fast food-ish in terms of the stuff here.

Good Italian food that’s cooked really quickly. The red wine and the white wine selections are very good as well, but two stars off because my friends and I really would have appreciated the ability to add any sort of hot sauce to our pasta. Unfortunately, they do not had any hot sauce in their restaurant, which did detract from or experiences

Everyone at work was raving about thus place so I decided to check it out. Very nice ambience, lots to chose from on the menu and there’s a good amount of seating area. When you go in you order off a board or you can look at a regular menu, then you pay, take your number and have a seat if you’re eating in. Shortly after, someone brings your food over to you. If you aren’t eating in then you pay and wait for your order number to be called and you leave. They offer the basic Italian dishes, I had shrimp with linguini & veggies which was good. What was even better was the dish my coworker had it was ravioli stuffed with spinach topped with cheese. I enjoyed hers more than mine. She also got her food a lot faster than I did even though I ordered first. I saw the salads that everyone was ordering and it looked amazing. The portions are quite large and we’ll worth the money. A meal is around $ 10 – 14, so not something I’d get for lunch every day but when I feel like eating something heavier I’ll Def. Be going here. They also have your basic canned drinks and sparkling water. If you’re in the area, Def. Check it out.

Their delivery service is the worst ever! Just received my dead cold pizza with an hour lateness and absolutely no apologies! They don’t pick up their phone and if they do no one knows how to help you with your order! Never again

I would come here from time to time for lunch as it is right outside the CBS building, where I work. I really enjoy their communal table and the ambience. Good for group breakfast, lunch and dinner. Just order, sit, and enjoy. No fuss(except the place does get crazy during lunchtime on weekdays). Good options for vegetarians. My favorite things from here: their Americano. I like the Americano here even more than I do the coffee from Blue Bottle. For food, I have had: Chocolate croissant — okay, nothing to write home about. Pizza: Margherita — freshly made, baked when you order. Plain, yet delicious(for when you don’t care what you eat for lunch). Tricolore — Must try! Love their goat cheese. Of the two pizzas I’ve tried, I prefer Tricolore. Insalate: Mediterranea Insalate: wouldn’t recommend unless you are a bean eater. Just iceberg lettuce and beans. Panini: Foccaccia Caprese: Must try. Fresh mozzarella. A good option for vegetarians! Caveat: Don’t order their tarts/desserts. Pretty meh.

If you are in the area of Radio City Music Hall for a show or something else and in the mood for Italian food at a reasonable place, you must visit Academia Barilla! The food is fresh and absolutely delicious! Pricing exceptionally reasonable for the area! Try the Tortellini Alfredo with Shrimp — off the hook! Tagliatelle Bolognese — scrumptious and loaded with meat! It’s a cafeteria type setting. Fast service! Delicious food at the right portion size and price. What more can you ask for?

I really wanted to like this place, I really did. The panzanella salad was just atrocious. First it came out as undressed greens with a scoop of goat cheese. Nothing else. How do you forget the bread in a panzanella salad? Another 15 minutes later some sort of glob of extremely overdressed salad greens with stale croutons came out that was inedible. Chicken sandwich was ok, but cold in the center, they didn’t even heat it through. Pasta fagioli tasted like cheap canned tomato soup with some canned beans and mushy pasta mixed in. Hopes for a new spot for a quick dinner and glass of wine were crushed.

Wow! I don’t know what else to say! Friendly faces, casual atmosphere and really great food! I ordered and tagliatelle bolognese and added the meatballs for a little extra protein and started with cup of minestrone. The soup came out instantly and was not salty or over seasoned, just perfect vegetable flavor a in a great broth. The pasta followed shortly after the soup and looked amazing! I am always hesitant about most meatballs but took the gamble and was rewarded handsomely! They were tender, flavorful and matched with the pasta: perfect! Now I’m eyeing the tiramisu, but can’t find the room for it yet. Very filling. I travel to NYC a few times a year and while visiting always look for a new spot to make a regular stop– I think I found it here!

This is my go-to Friday spot! After a week of working and eating salads it’s nice to have a good bowl of pasta. I can’t speak for their salads and pizzas but I’ve had pretty much every pasta dish and they are all really good. Quality is consistent as well. Lasagna may be my fave. The take out portions do seen a bit smaller than what you get if you eat there but I dunno for sure I’m not a scientist. Seating is tough to get if you eat there so you just have to be prepared to hawk a table from someone who is finishing up. But never a real issue and have always gotten a seat before my pasta came out which usually takes 5mins. They have gelato for $ 1 in the summer

Academia Barilla is the restaurant test kitchen for Barilla Pasta. Yes, the one in the blue box. The products and dishes are made with good quality and packaged for the Manhattan yuppie/foodie culture. I tried it twice, once a year ago, and then again this week. The space is beautiful. They really really outdid themselves with the décor and feel. Its almost hard to believe that the place is a grab and go instead of a full wait staff restaurant. That said, it is perfect for a meet up without busting the bank in an area that thrives off business power lunches/steakhouses. It can be a little drafty, but otherwise, the space is what really makes Academia Barilla shine. The prices are fair for NYC meals of this size, caliber, and location. Expect to spend about $ 10-$ 15. Service is smiley, but fairly hands off. The food is «good enough» which makes my review a solid 3 star«A-OK» The Farfalle Genovesi is not bad, not remarkable. Satisfied the pasta pesto craving but hardly memorable. The tagiatelle is tasty and hearty, without being over the top. Pizzas are large enough for 1.5 servings, so might be a good idea to share. They also do salads, soups, and sandwiches. There’s enough seating here for about 50, but the lunch rush starts at 12:15 pm.
