Really really delicious dinner. My boyfriend and I both loved every single dish that came. The service is fast too. They aren’t overly friendly, but they are attentive. I dropped my napkin, and without seeing me drop it, the waitress plopped a new one down, like she was reading my mind. We got and recommend: 1. Crispy Brussels sprouts 2. Sweet corn fritters 3. Grandma’s chicken over rice 4. «Khoa Soi» duck confit noodles(hold the duck and add an egg for this vegetarian. The only reason I rated it 4 instead of 5 is the size of the restaurant makes it difficult to get a table sometimes, and a little uncomfortable for us tall folk. But we still intend on making ourselves regulars. Yum yum yum.

Ahhhhh this place really hit the spot on a freeeeeeeezing winter day in NYC! Nothing says«warm up, forget about the cold, we love you» like a place that serves top notch SHORTRIB ramen. We scouted this place to help our ramen fix on a blistering cold day. As we do not eat pork, we were limited with options given most ramen spots have pork broth. Baoburg’s short rib ramen uses veal broth and their duck ramen used a different blend as well. Everything is made to order so it took some time for our food to come out, so by the time it did we were famished. The bowl was piping hot with an oily broth and a gigantic chunk of beef short rib. Noodles were traditional ramen which is a good thing because throwing udon in there would have had me bursting at the seams. The flavor of this dish was impeccable with all the right blend of ingredients. I felt the short rib was a bit fatty to my liking but I understand how others may prefer this. Because of the huge portion size I gave a sizable chunk to my husband and still left full. We also shared the black bean nachos which are not nachos but more like fried empanada type treats. Delicious and filled with flavor but a slightly small portion size for $ 10. I had to knock off a star because the restaurant was freezing, I had my down jacket on the entire time I sat down until the food came out. Their door setup is a bit odd but they should really invest in another outside entrance for the winter to maintain the persona of an oasis from the cold.

This restaurant, located on a small strip of Asian restaurants in Bedford, looked tasty and the rest of NY seemed to agree with all of its mentions in the NYTimes, TimeOut, and so on. I had eaten at the Ramen shop connected to it and the Thai place adjacent so I thought that I would give this place a try. Also, just a quick heads up — it is CASHONLY. But, the owner playfully(but kinda seriously) said he accepts some goods & services as well. We started with the PORKBUNS and it was good and one of the more unique ones I’ve tried — apple, cilantro, and katsu terriyaki sauce were the dominating flavors so it was a combination of very different flavor profiles and textures. Next was the DUCKBREASTNOODLES& the SIGNATUREBAO. The noodles were probably the best thing we ordered, very simple and delicious. The broth had depth and had a little bit of a kick to it which I personally appreciate. But, the portion was very small considering the dish is $ 16. The Siganture Bao(which came in the brunch section $ 14) came in a skillet with some pieces of toast on the side. Sunnyside eggs with pork, chorizo, and soy sauce. The dish was beautiful but not as tasty as it looked. It was satisfactory but nothing too crazy, probably would not order again. The ambiance and interior is very cute. The tea cups were beautiful and so were the color accents of the plates against the wooden interior. The server/owner(?) was very attentive and friendly as well. The meal was delicious, nothing special but overpriced for the quality and portion size.

I’ve finally gotten a chance to come to Williamsburg to try this place. It’s a very small restaurant but it serves amazing food. It’s a great place for brunch and has a variety of wine and alcoholic drinks. All the buns looked fantastically good; however, I settled with the pork which was fingerlicking good. I also ordered a side of guacomole just because but who doesn’t love guacomole. It was displayed well and had an Avocado pit in there to keep it from browning. It was definately made fresh but the only thing is that I felt that the tortilla chips were a bit over fried and oily. Of course I had to try their well known tasty dishes here so I ordered the duck breast noodles and the short ribs noodles. The duck breast was so tender and had great flavoring. The soup broth was flavorful and the noodles were nice and chewy but at the same time had a starchy texture. The short ribs were braised so well that the meat just falls apart melting in your mouth but also with a tasty herbal flavoring. The soup was very good too and it tasted similar to the Malaysian soup(bak kut teh). Another thing I’d like to recommend would be the trio tamarind beer. If you love tamarind, you don’t definately like this. It has a salty sweet and a hint of spiciness to it.

cash only* Yess!!! I came to Baoburg a week before my solo trip to Thailand. The food is much fancier than any I had in Thailand but as delicious. It’s small & quaint and the experience of using their bathroom is pretty unique. Begin with the sake challenge! It’s fun and you will thank me later. We started the night with the Gambas Al Ajillo —- yes please! Incredible! Had the coconut mussels and the truffle fries. Both were good — we just wished the fries stayed hotter longer. Not sure if the toppings cool them down. For entrees I had the Duck Breast noodles & my friend had the Khoa Soi Duck Leg Confit Noodles. Mine was really good until my friend and I switched dishes. I didnt want to give his Khoa Soi back. That was the best!!! Please try!

Most underwhelming meal In a while. Our waiter congratulated us on a «strong order,» which ended up being nothing better than decent. Brussels sprouts — muddy flavor… Not bright, not rich. Mostly just mushy. Maple soy wings — good texture, but flavor again was pretty disappointing. Really flat. More maple than soy. Lemon to squeeze over it didn’t balance it out enough. Shrimp dumplings — exceedingly average dumplings with some nutty garlic on top. 4/$ 10. Duck breast over noodles — this is just like the stuff you would get in Chinatown for $ 5.95, but the duck is rare and had an off flavor. Not sure how this place ended up with high praise from the nytimes and zagat. Weak showing

This place uses MSG. That’s why the brussels sprouts tasted so good. Now I’m doubled over in pain with hot sweats. If a place stoops so low as to use this cheap-shot product, knowing it’s toxic to so many, I have no respect for them. In China Town I’d get it. Here, you’re setting up your customers Baoburg. Never again.

Really cute restaurant. It’s very tiny with only four or five tables in total, but the food is a great fusion of spices. The atmosphere of the space is great and service is good — it helps with so few tables. I had the curry soup — which was delicious! I’d recommend this place to others. It also makes for a great date night spot.

Came here after having a bad experience at Juniper in the neighborhood and so glad we found this place! The food was amazing and the waiter was very sweet! My friend and I ordered the maple and soy grazed chicken wings to share and the braised port belly baos, WOW talk about flavor! I could keep eating those baos all night! We also got the ramen which the waiter recommended, it was good but not as good as the appetizers. The waiter even gave us complimentary churros which were also very good. My only negative feedback was how dark the restaurant was. I could barely see the menu. Besides that I would definitely recommend this place to anyone

Decent place but a couple of things that turned me off. — Cash only. Better for the bottom line. I get it. But the $ 2.50 fee for withdrawing from the ATM annoyed me. With Apple Pay, Google pay, and all other technological advances, we just don’t use cash anymore. — Steak Bao was very good. Nice little touch with the pickled spicy peppers. — Khao soi was decent but the duck leg was a bit cold and dry. Would have tasted better with egg noodles to soak up the flavor versus those silky ramen noodles. At $ 18, you were a bit expensive. — Duck breast noodles had a bit of a kick to it. Not bad but not great. For $ 16, there was hardly anything special. For $ 5.95, I can go to a authentic Cantonese spot for a great roasted duck noodle soup. For the product you get, it’s a bit overpriced.

This place is pretty awesome and many thanks to our servers and eli for the enjoyable meal. me and my +1 ended up being the only people in the restaurant after we sat for about half an hour. i guess they thought we were a couple so they dimmed the lighting for ambiance lol. i ordered the pink lemonade, duck bao and the seared duck noodles. my friend ordered the short rib noodles and it was all delicious. i’m not really a big fan of ducky because of how fatty it could be but that wasn’t the case here. the duck bao was really tender, the duck meat was pulled like pork, the bun was light and fluffy and i could have ate that all day. the seared duck in my curry noodles was delicious as well. seared, tender and complimented the sweetness of the curry. i will definitely be back to try out the other dishes

I did lunch takeout. Duck khao soi ramen & chicken wing. Both of them were very flavorful & super tasty dish! Simply amazed how good it was and I can not wait to try more of their dish! People were very friendly, very very kind, got great recommendation of the dish! I was worried about the takeout ramen but somehow they made it perfectly for it and I enjoyed it everything ;)

Originally I was headed somewhere else and saw the menu here so decided to give it a try. The only potential downfalls are the size(very small), its cash only and only serve beer and wine. The food was amazing — a friend and I split the cheesy truffle bacon fries, crispy brussel sprouts, steak bao and veggie bao. We loved all of it! I would definitely come back here if in the neighborhood

Found this place walking around williamsburg one night. Pretty small, but looks cozy. They have a few small plates to share which is good if you are looking for a light dinner or to share. Not much space for large groups, so I would recommend this for 4 people max. ordered: — Crispy Brussels sprouts: Very good, favorite thing I ordered! –Thai Ceviche — Regular ceviche with a bit of a kick –Steamed Pork Belly buns — This failed for me. The mole sauce that it had was not to my linking at all, I wouldn’t order this again Cheesy truffle fries with bacon — truffle, bacon, do I need to say more? It’s big enough to share for 2 people. Overall it was a good last minute find(thanks to Unilocal!). I would come back if I’m in the neighborhood.

Loved this place! However, note that it’s cash only. Delicious, gastropub-esque twists on bar food classics. My friend and I split the cheesy truffle fries, black beans dumplings nachos and vegetable bao. I liked that the truffle fries had cheese throughout rather than just on top. The nachos were incredible, and the buns were equally good, and had a welcome Asian flair. Fried deliciousness all around! I want to return and try the famed duck noodles.

Based on the reviews, we were excited to get some noms in before a gathering at a friend’s nearby. Unfortunately, food is totally mediocre especially given the prices on the menu. Nothing was memorable and some of the appetizers came out dry and not very hot. Don’t know if they forgot about our plates or if that’s just how they prep them. The ramen was okay, but again, nothing to be hyped about. I was really looking forward to a nice hot meal on a cold night to wake me up, but it’s always a hit or a miss when you’re venturing to try a new joint on your list. Don’t think I’ll be back especially given the plethora of choices in the surrounding area.

Wowwww! What a great surprise. Tapas, Asian, ramen, call it what you want, it’s delicious. Every single plate is equally amazing. We order two specials because I always try to go with the specials since experience taught me they are the real thing. The bulgogi steak bao has so much flavor that it doesn’t miss anything from the pork buns at Jin Ramen nor Ippudo. The pork dumplings that are made with a green dough are flavorful. Then the star of the night: their short rib ramen. The broth, what a broth! I could just drink a gallon of that. It’s the key to the perfect ramen. It comes with a delicious egg and real mushrooms. The noodles are also worth mentioning. Finally, to close our delightful night: the caramel flan. OMG, it even has dulce de leche. The cream, the strawberries, the dark caramel on top, it’s just perfection in a plate. We’ll be back soon

The place was ok. Really small. Had a party of 7 and there were about 6 – 7 more table of 2s available. It also shares a wall and bathroom wall with the ramen place next door. Food was ok. Appetizers were the best part. Entrees came slow. We ordered the brussel sprouts, chicken wings, and pork sate. We also had the chicken rice burger, duck ramen noodles, the other duck curry noodles and grandma’s chicken and rice. Everyone thought their food was just fine. The chicken rice burgers took the longest to surface and when they did, they were cold. I asked for no ice in my thai iced tea and it came with tons and was watery so i asked for another one and was given a face. Not bad too try out if you’re in the area, but I don’t need to come back.

This is a small charming place ran by two hard working ladies who cook, take orders, clean, and make you feel you were invited to their home. Reason why, if you stop by, have in mind your food is going to take a while. They display on blackboards lots of drinks that could make your meal pause more pleasant, like mojitos and sangrias. They offered specials, and it seemed that is really popular place for brunch in Williamsburg. We were a lil hang over, so we opted for the slow braised rib ramen. The broth was reach, oily, and aromatic. The rib was aphrodisiac; tender as silk, melting in our tongues, and playing bouncing in our palates… mmm. The but came with the noodles, veggies, and egg. The noodles were passed and cutting while trying to catch them. More veggies could have helped to contrast the meatness. And the egg tasted just like boiled egg, not tea or herbs. I would go to try some of their brunch options because I liked the vibe, the ambiance, and the fact that the girls in there know what they want and work really hard to get it.

Ridiculously good. Khao soi — best I’ve ever had. Unbelievably good. Ridiculous. Ramen — that duck breast… WTF? I’m still reeling from its sheer glory. Ridiculous. Lamb rice skewer — unexpected, but delicious. Thai tea — delicious. Let’s just say I walked in, ordered the Khao Soi, and the moment it arrived I texted Gin K with a photo and«Get here. Now.» and then had to consciously save a bite for her because I knew the rest of the bowl was not going to survive until she arrived. And then I was legitimately angry at myself because I was full and could not continue eating. I want everything on the menu. AHMAZEING
