Bantam Bagels

Bantam Bagels are THE BEST! I just visited this cute little shop today and I really enjoyed the assortment of little bagels that they offer. From Birthday Cake and Red Velvet to the classic and «everyone’s favorite». I really enjoy the concept of portion control with Bantam Bagels and can not wait to share them all with my friends. I will defiantly order them for my next party. I LOVE Bantam Bagels and you will too! Change the way you bagel!

Saw this on Shark Tank but was really let down when I had them. Firstly, the place was a disaster inside with dirty napkins all over the small counter and trash overflowing. I ordered four different bagel balls (or whatever they are called) and all of them were stale, not tasty at all, and had basically nothing inside them. I wouldn’t recommend this to my friends.

I actually saw Bantam Bagels on Shark Tank and didn’t realize it was them, glad they went with Lori on a deal. This location wasn’t far from where I was staying, so I got up pretty early in the morning to hit the streets to bring back some breakfast to the hotel.
Nothing like the smell of fresh bagels in the morning! They look like donut holes to me, but mostly savory and some sweet ones. I got an assorted dozen and they were actually quite tasty. They had a pizza one with pepperoni, a poppy seed one, a sesame, some sweet options like the yummy PB&J or a French Toast one etc. All of them were actually quite good, the cream cheese is already piped inside of the bagel ball when you bite into it. It’s just like a NYC bagel on the outside but in a ball shape.
Interesting twist on a NYC bagel, and just as delicious! Some flavors do run out so be sure to get there early.
Glad I came by to try them for myself, it’s a little shop so grab some and take it to-​go.

Showed up around 5pm and most of their popular favors were sold out. Got the tomato and cheese one but was disappointed. the filling was barely there, the bagel round was room temperature. just meh!

After reading all the mixed reviews I didn’t know want to expect, but I’m glad I went because it was great!
I think the Bantam owners took reviewers comments seriously because our bagels were toasted upon ordering and the women at the front was very pleasant.
We got there around 9 a. m on a Saturday and every flavor to choose from, which might be different later in the day. The classic, Everybody’s favorite and the Grandma jojo’s were so good!
Although I must say that $ 1.50 for a bite sized bagel is a little pricey.

After leaving our favorite watering-​hole in the city, a small group of us decided to check out this shop. Hey, it was all the rave on Shark Tank, right? I was completely underwhelmed. Since we stopped in during the afternoon, we figured their wouldn’t be a huge selection of bagels left and that the daily baking had ended, but we weren’t expecting a huge disappointment either.
The small shop (the dirty floor desperate for a sweeping) was empty, with one seemingly bored and not overly-​friendly girl behind the counter. Orders were placed for the 2 flavors left, which were then «heated» in a toaster. We paid and left, only to realize that the inside fillings were cold — ick.
Like I said, we weren’t expecting fresh-​out-​of-​the-​oven bagels given the time of day; however, it does not make up for poor service and inappropriate preparation of the orders. Additionally, the prices per bagel ball were higher than expected.

I’ve Ben to Bantam Bagels a few times and if you want a better experience there is none. These little masterpieces are amazing. You can get a variety of flavors and if you toast them before eating they are exquisite. I’ve only had about 10 of their flavors but wow are they good.
Most importantly get there early if they run out they are done for the day. They will close the shop down and try to let you know but they typically run out around 3 pm. Get there early before they are gone because they are amazing.
This might be one of the best finds I’ve had on Unilocal!I was looking for a good breakfast spot one day and after having them a few times I ended up ordering them for Thanksgiving breakfast for Mamma. You cannot go wrong here

As a Long Island native, home of the World’s best bagels, I was a litte hesitant to try «bagel balls» but I was pleasantly surprised. These ball shaped bagels don’t require schmear because they are complete with a cream cheese filled center. They had so many flavors to try and at a $ 1.50 each it’s easy to try a bunch in one visit.

I came here with my boyfriend at the time one weekend. We were spending our weekend walking around the west village area. That’s when we came across Bantam Bagels on Bleecker St. We’re both Shark Tank watchers, so of course, we were familiar with the franchise and had to try it.
The shop is a lot smaller than I had expected. There’s definitely only room for a couple of people and no room to sit. Just a counter with a fridge of bagel balls. The bagel balls all looked really good, so we decided to try two savory and two sweet. It’s kinda pricey ($ 2.50 per ball. A whole bagel is less than that, but I know this is a novelty item). The flavors were unique and the balls were really cute.
I must say, I LOVED the sweet bagels we ordered, which were the cinnamon and french toast. On the other hand, we both weren’t the biggest fans of the savory, which was the pepperoni and the hangover. Just didn’t mix well with my tastebuds.
Overall, It’s the kind of shop you come and try once, but then move on. It’s a cute, unique idea with a cool twist on bagels, but not something I would be throwing my money at more than once.

They’re local. They’re pretty tasty. They’re definitely pricey. And they’re now sold in Starbucks, which is a bit of a bummer.

Unique product… basically, speciality cream cheese filled bagels. Definitely a unique twist…
I tried several types, all were pretty good and reasonably priced… $ ⁵⁄₄ I believe.
Nothing too special however.

Bagel balls! Conveniently stuffed with cream cheeses.
The best ball they offer is the peanut butter jelly one. It’s called Box Lunch.
They have some interesting flavor combinations and encourage your ideas for new combinations. I got a box of four plus the free one that you get via Unilocal if you buy coffee (yay). The coffee was decent thanks to Gorilla, always keeping the beans classy.

Hot Pretzel (salted bagel with cheddar Dijon cream cheese)
the Hangover (cheddar cheese topped egg bagel with bacon cheddar cream cheese)
And the cinnamonster (cinnamon raisin bagel with walnut cream cheese).
Starbucks offers the plain, French toast, and everything which is how I became acquainted with these in the first place.
All of the bagels could have used a little more cream cheese or flavoring in my opinion. A bagel bite without cream cheese tended to be on the dry side. Guess I’m used to a regular bagel NYC style (loaded with cream cheese).
The store front is a classic tiny Bleecker street place… it’s likely most people grab and go like I did myself. Overall I agree with the three star review.

Really interesting flavors and perfect for on the go. I would recommend trying a bunch of different ones the first time you go because I found them all delicious. Kinda pricey for what they are and how small but def worth a try.

Glad I finally got to try them. Also glad I waited to try them until my office building Starbucks started carrying them… and that the girl behind the counter gave me a discount… and threw in an extra one.
Not that they’re bad in the very least! Nice little pick me up treat, which I’d try again if I passed by the shop, in order to try all their flavors. But I’m not sold on a repeat purchase of the flavors I tried, as the final product isn’t worth nearly $ 1.50 each — and 100 calories each — for this dude.
The Everything Bagel on was good! The Cinnamon French Toast one was fine… but the cream cheese was super sweet for me.
I’d still like to try their other flavors, if I’m ever passing by the shop, or Starbucks starts carrying other options. Fun little kitsch treat that is worth at least one go around, and could be fun as a party catering tray.

These reviews are definitely accurate. I hope the owners catch wind of the horrible customer service and help the storefront out.
We walked in on a Wednesday morning around 8. I don’t want to exaggerate but it took a good 5 minutes for anyone to come out the back. During that time, no acknowledgement of customers (2 parties totaling 5 people standing in their tiny storefront) by yelling we will be right there, just a minute, nothing. When the young guy came out from the back, still no talking. We one-​sidingly (word?) placed our order without a peep from the employee.
We ended up getting 6 bagel bites for about $ 7, not exactly sure the price and took hem outside to the one bench available. Definitely plan on taking your food to go. As far as the bagels, they were eh. I can’t even remember one of the flavors so that is telling. I’d consider this a one and done.

Yesterday (6÷20÷15) myself and 2 of my friends made the trip to NYC and were excited to try mcstuffins by Batnam Bagels. I called at 12:33pm to ask what time the store on Bleeker street closed and was told 6pm.
5:40pm myself and my two friends walked into the store where we could see the bagels on a shelf and one of the two employees came from behind the counter and basically ushered us out of the store saying they were closing. My friend said that I had called and were told 6pm, the employee snickered a bit, looked back at the other employee and said «oh well there’s a storm coming so we want to get out of here.» The storm didn’t even start to appear for about4 hours later!
When my friend and I tweeted about the experience we along with anyone else who retweeted us, were instantly blocked.
My friend Kyle wrote a Unilocal review and essentially got back a load of b.s. about how Nick (the owner) was reactionary to our tweets and blocked us and his heart is hurt for the negativity, his employees work so hard — his employees cost him at least $ 150 between 3 people and future orders and positive press. He initially also lied and said the store closes Saturday’s at 5pm, yet it was 5:40pm when we were shoed away and he website states 6pm when you look not to mention when I called I was told 6pm!
My friend was then told «next time you’re in town stop by for bagels on us.» Yes let’s spend another 3 hours in a car, pay tolls and chance the same customer experience which was downright rude and by far the WORST I’ve ever experienced! A good business owner wouldn’t have reacted by blocking on Twitter, then lying about hours and then basically not doing a darn thing about the awful customer experience.
I also sent emails to the information on the website, and discovers the Press email address is invalid.
It’s truly a shame this happened because I’m all for supporting independent business and was excited to try this creation but I see that won’t be happening now.
I had to give 1 star because there isn’t an option for ZERO stars!

After reading so many mixed reviews about this place, I honestly had no idea what to expect when I walked into Bantam Bagels. Seeing as how I’m a huge Shark Tank fan though, I was really hoping that I would end up loving this place – the idea in and of itself is brilliant, in my opinion.
I decided to buy 2 dozen Bantams, so my friends and I could pretty much sample all the ones that had available (Pro Tip: definitely go super early, as a bunch of flavors were already gone by the time I got there around noon). First off, I completely agree with what everyone said about the service– the lady who helped me with my bagels was completely disinterested and clearly did not want to be there. Not off to a good start, Bantam.
After buying the Bantams, I decided to sample one in the store. Since none of them were labeled and the lady already walked to the back of the store the second I finished paying (and so I couldn’t ask her which one I picked up), I had to do a little side-​by-​side comparison on my own. I finally deduced that it was either Everybody’s Favorite or the Everything Bagel (after biting into it, realized it was the former).
While I do agree that the bagel to cream cheese ratio was a tad bit skewed (def would have preferred more cream cheese), it honestly wasn’t as bad as so many people claimed. A tad bit chewy, but still tasty enough. Definitely not anything extraordinary though.
When we got back to my apartment, we decided to toast the rest of the bagels a la Celine L. and see if that made them any better. BEST. IDEA. EVER. Thanks for the tip, girl. The Bantams were now fan-​freaking-​tastic and I couldn’t stop popping them into my mouth. Be careful when taking that first bite though because the cream cheese will def squirt out and burn your hand like it did with me. Le sigh.
Overall, I was a fan of the Bantam Bagels, but not a fan of the fact that I had to toast them myself in order to get them to taste good. Perhaps the store should offer for them to be toasted on site in the future? Just a thought.

Three Stars maybe
Bang Bang Bang. This was the third place we hit on bagelsunday. This store front was uncrowded and rather small. The lady behind the counter was rather lackadaisical. We ordered a dozen for $ 13. We got two of each kind to share. The bagels were a bit hard and old tasting. They didn’t remind of a New York bagel. The bacon cheddar was the best followed by the pepperoni pizza bagel. The French toast was decent. The pesto was fine. The lunchbox (pb&j) was awful.
This is a fun place to try some unique mini stuffed bagels but this falls in the skip column for me.

I am not that disappointed but that was cuz I also had low expectations, esp seeing the ratings and review. But why not?!
It’s a little bit tough the way across the street from Johns pizza. When I came in today the menu on the TV screen was down, so I didn’t know the prices for the bagel bites. But I remember seeing review saying that it is 4 for $ 5 so sure.
I got Grandmas jojo, cookies and milk, everybody’s favorite, the hangover.
Everybody’s favorite — it’s just a everything bagel — supposedly with veggie cream cheese but I didn’t get anything… just a bagel ball
Cookies and milk — I don’t see anything special about this one. It tasted like a cinnamon bread, not bagel with a slight hint of chocolate cream cheese. I was not impressed.
Grandmas jojo — this one had a little bit more flavor but overall it wasn’t anything special or memorable.
The hangover — this is probably The best one out of all four, and that’s not saying a lot. The cheese on top definitely help with the flavoring and the bacon cheddar cream cheese had a lot of flavors but not very noticeable. Still good
