I don’t really even want to write a review because it would be a public acknowledgement that I ate at this place! Oops, so much for that…

This place is awesome. The food is super cheap and delicious. I also get delivery within 10 minutes of ordering. You get an appetizer and fried rice with the entrée. My fave is still the beef and broccoli. The sesame chicken is also very good. I’m not sure why people are really hating on this place.

found a hair in my pork fried rice. not just a little piece of hair, but a long, shower drain, japanese horror film strand of it. NOPE. enough said.

My colleague and I was in the office yesterday and can’t decide what to eat, so we went browsing on shameless, I mean seamless, who came up with that stupid name anyway? lol So we saw the reviews on seamless was like 5 stars, so…5 stars meaning like. good, right? And…without checking on Unilocal site, we placed our orders I ordered the Beef Chow Fun. Yuck! I can’t even finish it, it was so oily, half way, I felt like throwing up, later I dig into the bottom, the noodles was sitting in the oil, it was pretty gross So this morning, I wanted to write a review on this place, and I type in Bamboo Garden, I saw 4 stars on Unilocal! I goes WTF? Seriously? No…that was in Brooklyn, I knew my Unilocalpies will not let me down like that. lol I go scrolled down, and down, and… a little bit more, 2 stars! Yay, that’s the one. :-P Overall, –1 star, this is one of those fake Chinese/American + Mexican guy back in the kitchen cooking your Chinese food restaurant, so. good luck. lol

I ordered off of seamless, and the restaurant«estimated» time of delivery was 30 – 45 minutes — 8:30 — 8:45. Finally arrived at 9:15. Pretty crappy. That said, the food is OK(not great) — probably about 3 stars. Seems reasonable for cheap delivery chinese, but then you at least need to be FAST! Also, the portions are pretty generous — I got an entrée and a small soup, and I can make two meals out of it for sure. Overall: Would try once more, but 2 slow delivery times makes for a «never again»

Im not sure why this place gets such horrid reviews but the fact that most come from accounts with less than 5 reviews makes me suspicous. This place isnt bad, its average. I order online and its always fast and the people who deliver are friendly. Today I ordered the tofu in garlic sauce, egg drop and wonton soup, and a spring roll. For $ 12 and a speedy delivery its a price you cant beat in this area. Tofu was plentiful with vegetables, hot and yummy. Soup was flavourful and came with three good sized wontons. Typical chinese delivery place that deserves at least decent reviews.

Once again I am disappointed by the«Chinese» food offerings of the city. NYC has so many amazing places to eat, but this is not one of them. I guess this food will do if american/chinese is what you want, but this food is not anything to seek out

I ordered the seafood delight w. the sauce on the side(see picture). it had large chunks of lobster and a decent amount of shrimp and crab(well, fake crab). I’d ordered online, fast delivery. Oh yea, their wonton soup was also pretty good.

Super surprised that Bamboo Garden has gotten such low reviews. Here’s what I like about it: 1. Fast — I order on Seamless, and it’s usually at my apt within 30 minutes. And I’ll order a LOT of food. 2. Friendly — The delivery guy is always super friendly and smiley. I like that a lot. 3. Food — I really like the food. Weather i want something fat and gross(fried wontons and pan friend noodles with beef) or healthy(tofu and vegetable soup in clear broth and steamed vegetables), the food is always very tasty. After trying a dozen or so Chinese delivery places, Bamboo garden is the winner in my book.

Bamboo Garden is an ok place but not exactly a first choice. The food is decent but very salty although edible. Many may fear entering with the dingy looking interior. The service wasn’t bad and the lunch specials are fairly priced. The portions are rather small. Theres not much to write or emphasis on just know you are in NYC and can definitely find a better place.

Basically the worst customer service I’ve ever encountered. I was waiting about an hour for my delivery when I decided to call and check on the status of my order. The guy on the phone claimed that someone else had called and said my order should be delivered to a different address but he would follow up with the delivery guy. Fifteen minutes later, I called back and the guy said the person at the other address had accepted the order. He made no offer to refund the money or to send our order to the correct address, acting like I had already gotten my delivery. Then he hung up the phone when I continued to complain. Given how poorly reviewed this place is and how poorly they treat customer, not sure how this place is even still in business. Hopefully it won’t be for long.

Greasy and sub-par food(Chow Fun and Kung Pao Chicken) as is the management. when I complained they basically told me to go elsewhere if I didn’t like it. Um, OK.

easily the shittiest chinese food i’ve ever had. i ate about 3 pieces of the general tso’s ‘chicken’ and there was no chicken in it. it was just the breading and it basically evaporated in my mouth. terrible. awful. disgusting. dont ever order from this place

Terrible. I should have walked out a minute after arriving for my pickup order. Only problem is, I had already paid. There were no customers dining in nor did anyone else come to pickup during the ten minutes I stood there waiting for my order — ten minutes after it was supposed to be ready. I don’t know what went wrong but the cashier disappeared into the kitchen once I paid and left me alone in the front for the entire time. The sesame chicken was all dark meat cut into pieces so small each bite was chewy, dry and mostly coating. The scallion pancakes were also disappointing. Bamboo Garden, more like BamBOOOOOOO Garden.

Apparently there’s just something about doing a full medical exam and having blood work done that just takes it out of ya… oh, it might be the mandatory 12 hours of fasting that must be done prior to the appointment! Yeah, I think that’s it. This morning I grudgingly ventured out into the cold sans coffee(remember, 12 hour fasting) and endured some pokes, pricks, and other random tests that the government requires. Despite eating right after I got back to the office around noon, I was feeling famished by 3:30 p.m. and decided to order some Chinese food. In comes GrubHub, which points me to a new place I haven’t seen before. And look, it’s only a $ 6 minimum for delivery! Done. I opted for an entrée size order of sweet & sour chicken(look, I’m not playing when I say I felt famished… probably due to the blood I lost today), which actually rang in at $ 8.95. Hmmm, that’s a little high for Chinese take-out, but alright. What I got was a huge bin of succulent, juicy chicken pieces, a giant tub of sweet & sour sauce, and a carton of white rice and some soy sauce to put in it! Once I calculated all of that in, it was well worth the $ 10 I spent(after the 10% «first time» discount and tip). My only complaint is that it took a LONG time to deliver(though not any longer than GrubHub told me it would take). I placed the order at 3:35 and I got it at 4:15 or 4:20. Times my famished feeling by two, and that’s where I was when I finally got my food. My coworkers who ordered from somewhere else *after* I’d ordered mine got theirs probably 10 minutes before me. But apparently theirs wasn’t as tasty. Karma’s a b*tch sometimes, ain’t it? ;-) Note: Bamboo Garden lets you order online on GrubHub, so if you don’t have any cash and it’s too cold to go out and get some, no worries. You can use your credit card!
