I really wanted to at least like it… Service was friendly enough I guess…(Shrugs shoulders) you know what the entire experience here was just that(shoulder shrugging induced mediocrity) The Bagel with lox was nothing special… And the 10.75 price tag made me more angry than the fact that I even bothered to order food here. I also got an egg platter. The spinach and feta one to be exact and it was all bland… The home fries where mushy and looked like someone spread glue on them before they were served. I don’t know if I am more upset that I spent 25.00 here for breakfast or the fact that after I spent such an absurd amount of money for food that was barely palatable I actually ate it??? Well at least half of it… The best thing here was my fruit punch Snapple… Before I delve deeper into the black hole of such a negative review I will say this… Hungry? Craving a carb loaded bagel??? Get it here but be prepared to spend about 8 bucks on ONE bagel. (BUYERBEWARE: there’s a sign that says everything is baked on the premises I highly doubt that as I witnessed a worker unpacking cupcakes from a box and putting them on display… I sure those will go for about 5 dollars a pop each)

This place is perpetually under construction or remodeling and is always dingy, even the new parts. It’s as if the owners can’t figure out what they want to do so they just keep everything in a state of half done flux. Same goes for the way the line works(or doesn’t as is often the case). They display the breakfast food options in a case… almost laughable in that it looks like they’ve been there 2 – 3 days minimum(and for eggs, that just isn’t all that attractive). It’s just not a terribly pleasant experience at any level. As for the food. The signature item, bagels, are fair at best. The muffins are equal to any street breakfast cart at four times the price. Coffee drinkable if you add milk and sugar. Service tolerates you, perhaps going for that NY «charm», but that NY «charm» only plays when you are efficient, accurate and sell a good product. Bottom line, this place exists only because there isn’t another bagel shop option for the neighborhood in reasonable walking distance.

If you’re looking for a quick to-go breakfast, Bagel café is the joint for you. Although I can’t get over the pricey-ness of NY breakfast options, it definitely filled me up! I got their ham & cheese croissant, which was buttery and crispy. Paired with a cup of coffee, it warms me up! Also, the amount of cream cheese options is pretty impressive. I’ll definitely try it again!

Love this place! Whenever I’m too lazy to make breakfast or have friends staying this is my go to spot! Yes it’s a little pricey but it’s nyc and their bagels are good!

If you want the smallest most expensive bagel in the city than this is the place. If you want a bagel place to get your order wrong 50% of the time than this is also the place. The food is decent at best when it comes out right but be ready to shell out a lot of money for no reason. You will barely be satisfied.

Even though their posted hours are until 10pm, this place has a tendency to close at 8pm. I’d recommend going elsewhere.

The only food edible here is bagels. Everything else looks old and nasty. The bagels are okay, but in my opinion overpriced. The people are really rude and make for a very uncomfortable atmosphere. They don’t want to listen they just want your money. I’d be willing to come back if the food was nice, but other bagel places in the city have done a much better job. Came here twice but never again.

With so many kinds of bagels and spreads, Bagel Café has what you like. I got a plain bagel with tofu cream cheese and it was divine. Why haven’t I had tofu cream cheese before?! The line moves quickly, and everyone who works here is quick and professional. You’ll be in and out in 5 minutes.

Overpriced and you better double check your order! Once, I ordered 7 bagels but they placed only 5 in the bag. The food is not good enough for the exorbitant prices.

Hands down the best bagels I’ve ever had with the perfect combination of soft and chewy. They have a great variety of cream cheese flavor options and so far all of the ones I have tried were great. Everything is always fresh and you can taste how they use high quality ingredients. My personal favorites would be the sunflower seed flat bagel with bacon cream cheese or everything bagel with chicken salad.

I’m just really glad this place sells gluten free bagels. I’ve been looking for somewhere in my neighborhood to get them and am so happy I finally found a place! Aside from that, I thought the service was quick and friendly, and I loved the selection of cream cheeses to put on the bagels. I just wish there were more sweet flavors of cream cheese because I am not always in the mood for savory flavors for breakfast. I’ll definitely be back though for my gluten free bagel fix!

I’ve gone to the Bagel Café a few times now and each time it’s been a great experience. It very much looks like a café, has a wide menu(lots of cream cheese options) and fast service. The food is great, their bagels are awesome, I’ve had a poppy seed and an everything. I usually go lox spread, but today I went veggie and it was delicious. There were real peppers in the spread. For this reason I think this is my go-to bagel place in the area. My two criticisms are the order process. It can be a bit confusing your first time between the numbers and the tags, they forgot to give my friend her order number and it created a bit of a confusion later. I’m sure it was a one time thing, but if it happens to you good luck. The other is their pricing. It’s fair for the most part, but the second you have any kind of lox product the bagel goes from being ¾$ to 8 $ and up. I get its New York, but that still seems a bit drastic of a markup. This issues aside, this is a quality bagel place, I’ve yet to be disappointed.

Very expensive, AND they lie about their prices. Perfect example of what is called«false advertising». They list one price when selecting your bagel and food preference, and then at checkout jack up the price. When I pointed out the unfair price raise from the order counter to checkout, the woman there looked uncomfortable and laughed, not offering to fix this or help. If I hadn’t been in a rush, I would have refused to pay and walked out empty handed. Other than fraud and price gauging, the food is pretty decently solid. Would not suggest this place to anybody though

I stop by for breakfast almost every morning. Out of all places i’ve been so far, i would say that here are the most delicious sandwiches i have ever tried. Nice, quick service, these guys try to do their best. I don’t understand why people complain a lot about the service. Listen you buy sandwich for $ 5 — $ 7. It’s not a french restraunt where your bill for 2 people will be around $ 400 — $ 500. Of course for that money you get the brightest smiles, high quality service and etc. I think there are a lot of people that will be not satisfied with the service no matter what. So if you don’t know where to have a good breakfast yet then you should definitely stop by at Bagel café.

3 stars for food. 1 star for delivery. So 2 stars overall. Bagels are great, but delivery is horrible. I’m literally a block away at 30th and 2nd and was ordering in for my bridesmaids as we were preparing for my wedding and it took more than 2 hours to get my order. When I called to check on the order, I had a rude person tell me it was on the way. The delivery person also asked me for my address and I was very specific, but it still took another hour before he arrived. By then, the coffees and bagels were no longer hot or even warm. If you want their food, just go in person.

ok, well I’ll start by saying that the food itself isn’t bad, but I’ve really grown to hate this place. The people working there aren’t friendly, and sometimes incompetent. I’ve gone twice on an off peak hour, maybe 2 – 3 costumers there total, and this one guy(both times) managed to mess up my order. I don’t know if he couldn’t hear me, didn’t care to listen, or is just dumb. I don’t like to insult people, but when you order a bagel and cream cheese(or white fish) and mess it up, something isn’t right. two separate times! They’re also kind of slow, and when it gets busy there’s no real place to wait for your food, so it’s kind of big crowded mess right by where you pay. Like I said once you get it, and it’s the right order, the food itself isn’t bad. Although I ordered a bacon, egg and cheese on a bagel today and the bacon was super fatty. I didn’t even wind up eating it. This bagel place is also the closest one to my apt, which is prob why I still go back sometimes… but when I do I usually wonder why I choose to torture myself.

Visiting New York and stopped by here. Nice casual atmosphere, and the bagel I had and sandwich was really good. There was a number of different spreads which felt very New-York-esk. Happy with the service and my double espresso

I’ve been coming here for years even when they used to be known as the bagelry and closed down for renovations and didn’t open back up for a while. The food gas always been ok and I know for a fact that the bagels are always fresh and that they toss the leftovers out at night. The really big downer is that the cream cheeses are horrible. The other food that they offer definitely tastes old and has been sitting around for only who knows how long. The best part is that the girls who work are are very fast and friendly.
