The showroom manager Lisa was, courteous, prompt, personable, sweet, and friendly in replying to my concerns when there was a major fiasco/​error made with my crown servicing, so I only was able to wear the crown I think 3 months or so (I won’t get into it into the entire story here in this review, but there was a major miscommunication/​fiasco). Lisa was prompt, courteous and all of the above described qualities in offering me to contact her regarding a remedy/​solution for the situation when I expressed my frustration. While most would’ve responded with equal anger or frustration, Lisa was more then mature, accommodating, and pleasant.
However, the original wig itself, in my opinion, I would never spend that much $ on again. I’ve just finally settled on wearing synthetic front lace cheaper ones ordered from online now and enjoy them. This is my own personal preference, however, so you can be your own judge. For me personally, I simply decided it’s not a spending priority. I also like to change up my style now quite often and cut them myself. I watched youtube videos on how to cut a stock wig by yourself with no prior stylist skills. There are also plenty of videos on how to add in more elastic bands and/​or combs. Furthermore, you can additionally order a stock human hair unit online and take it to your regular stylist — ask him/​her to cut and color it for you if they’re open to this. As you can see, some women prefer cheaper synthetic stock wigs, while others opt for a more upscale service provider product and experience such as this. Most human hair custom wigs are pricey even when dyed/​processed, especially with in salon services such as these I’d presume. And, for what it’s worth, the crowns do look like the pictures on the website. Therefore, it’s just a matter of what you make a priority to splurge on, your budget, and lifestyle.

I rarely write reviews but I just had too. I brought two crowns from Hadiiya and they are amazing! I loved to wear weaves and thought it was time to try something different. There are myriad of people out there that make and sell wigs however Hadiiya’s crowns are marginally different. You get what you pay for with her: quality hair, craftsmanship, divine coloring and let’s not forget the actual haircut.
There are so many details that you overlook when buying but notice when you wear your crown. The craftsmanship is perfect. The hair is soft and manageable, does not tangle. It sits flushed to my scalp. it looks very natural. I have gotten so many compliments.
Keep in mind they are an investment but sooo worth it, especially if you wear it everyday. You will not be disappointed. I’m afraid to say it but I think I will be going for a 3^rd. Its my new obsession. Thank you for the transformation…

Let me SAY THIS. Dios Hadiiya is the BEST Period :) Best quality… Best service… Just the best .I have a custom crown from her La Bohemia collection… It is so beautiful the best luscious curly hair and it looks so natural .Even after coloring it blonde it’s still curly and beautiful. Quality is something you have to indulge in sometimes and if you do please make sure you check out the most fab hair transformer around !!! Hadiiya Barbel HONEY !!!

Hadiiya is first and foremost and artist. I feel like she came into my life as a gift, when I was dealing with sourcing hair in a new city I didn’t love, and then suddenly, we met. Her love and gift of working with hair is like no other. She is constantly looking for new styles, textures, and ideas to improve the women feel about their hair and the way they look, giving all her personal energy to produce crowns that are stylish, wearable, and beautiful. She put me in a crown just a few weeks ago, and I haven’t felt so beautiful in such a long time. I worked with her and her partner Sara, and between them I felt taken care of with every detail managed, every question answered, and walked out the door feeling the best I had in years. I felt beautiful, and free. (and hit on!) I see some of the negative reviews on here, and I don’t get it, because I wasn’t treated that way — even though I will say if Hadiiya was focused on a hair while you are talking to her, I can imagine it would be hard to catch her attention — her hair is her passion — which is exactly why she is the person involved with yours. Trust me, shes the best in the city. You won’t regret it. Go and work with her, or Sara, they are vision, and execution, personified. She does for hair what Alvin Ailey does for dance, she makes it explode. She’s the one!

The crowns are beautiful but the customer service is unprofessional. I ordered my crown on the phone. I had a very good experience the 1^st time I bought from her. But that was in person, in the Salon. I ordered a crown in black. I was told that was what I would get. When it came in they sent a photo. It was a lighter, different color. I asked if it would be dyed the color I ordered. they said no, that would be extra. That was not told to me initially. And if you check their site it does not say anywhere on the site that they charge extra for color. It was also not styled or cut. If your company is all about customization wouldn’t that be expected? Again, none of this info was provided until after the fact. After going back and forth I was told it would be dyed, styled and cut and then sent to me. I asked if it would take longer to mail since some work had to be done on it but they said no It could be sent right away. When I received it, I was very excited. I opened the box and took out a dry, frizzy piece not in the black color I wanted and asked for and not styled. When I called them to see what could be done, I was eventually told, after having to call them, that they made a mistake in telling me that the color could be done and styled and if I wanted it done I would have to send it back at my expense and pay for the color. Mind you, the 1^st time I bought this crown the color and styling was included. Mind you, no where on the site does it say any of those things and it was not told to me over the phone. Managing expectations and being as clear as possible are part of good customer service. I have spent an absurd amount of money on this crown and I was treated shabbily. I now have to find someone to color this crown. So, if you want one of these beautiful crowns go to the salon. They are not set up properly for phone/​website orders. I hope Hadiiya updates her site to clearly spell out what is included and what is not included. I also hope that if she decides to change her policies to maybe let previous customers know. Too many assumptions were made on their part. It’s too costly of an item to dismiss your customers. I won’t buy from her again.
UPDATE — it is shedding. A lot. This is really terrible. Do not purchase!

Everything about my experience here was perfect. Courteous staff, very helpful, sensitive to my condition, beautiful crown that I adore and my new dress that I wasn’t even expecting to purchase. (After trying it on, I had to have it)

Cannot gush enough about my experience here! 8 years ago I was diagnosed with cancer and bought a wig at a supposedly expert medical facility that deals with cancer and alopecia patients mostly. The hair was never the right color, was shorter than they had promised (by a lot) and was dry and brittle. By contrast the CROWN I now own was the same price, so much longer that I had to have them cut it (in a good way of too long) and when I wasn’t thrilled with my color choice they stayed late after closing to redo it and have it for me the same day (normally at least a week process). Hadiiya spent soo much time with me making sure I tried on every style I was curious about and ultimately ended up LOVING my new hair. As someone going through chemo I wanted to feel beautiful again, and Hadiiya delivered and then some. She even wanted to pose for pictures with me and filmed a before and after for her website. She was truly the right choice and worth the little extra I paid for consultation with her. But her stylist dyed and styled it for me which came out exactly the way I described it to him. The only drawback was the wait to have it made, which is the same anywhere you go (if you want a custom fit and order). Loved the experience from start to finish!

After my first purchase years ago, Hadiiya told me this: «This won’t be your last. You’ll want more.» Six crowns later, that statement still holds true.
The boutique reflects the beauty of the West Village neighborhood and the staff is knowledgeable, friendly, and extremely helpful. Hadiiya is helpful as well. If you need her undivided attention, make an appointment with her. She’s a busy lady and for good reason!
Hadiiya’s work is unmatched by any other. If you’re ready to be «crowned», get ready to be amazed and extremely satisfied by coming here.

My first visit was great! I received assistance from the owner who explained EVERYTHING upfront & didn’t apply any pressure tactics to make a purchase. With no hidden costs and no pressure, I was back in two days to make my first purchase and then again in another two days to make my second purchase.
The quality of the hair is superb. The hairline on her work is flawless, very natural. All items are worth her asking price. Hadiiya Barbel is definitely offering a high end, top quality product and I will return to make additional purchases. Very impressive work.
Hanna cut and styled one of my purchases directly on my head. She was great: talented, patient, and friendly. Tip for first timers: know what you want (I did not), have pictures if possible. It’s not just enough to know what you DON’T want. Makes things easier on everyone.
Side note: I did feel a bit rushed in order to accommodate what appeared to be two regular clients. I also felt a tad «left to my own devices» with styling my new hair. I went home and perfected the piece to suit me, because what I left with wasn’t it yet! All in all, have some clue what you want and go get a crown from Hadiyya! It’s well worth every penny!
