We ordered through seamless. The delivery was half an hour late according to the text from seamless when they tell you when your order should be expected. Also, the food was so cold that we had to reheat it before we could eat it(it was a very cold night, but if they had come directly from the restaurant it would have been way quicker and not so cold). We ordered aloo ghobi and saag paneer. Both were very good. The only other issue was the portion size, much smaller than typical delivery orders. We usually can eat lunch the next day with our order and this was all finished at dinner — for the price I expected more. Doubt I’ll order from them again.

Excellent aloo tikki chaat and samosa chaat! And their gulab jamun is pure heaven. I’d go there just for dessert if I could!

Good food, good service. Great lunch buffet for the price in the UES. I moved to LI but still come back once in awhile for their lunch buffet. Love the nann.

This is my favorite for Indian in Yorkville. The food is excellent, both for dining in and taking out. I particularly enjoy the samosa chaat appetizer(they have the best chaats I’ve had in the city so far). Another favorite is the Paneer Makani — their sauce is creamy and delicious. The service is excellent and the staff is very friendly and accommodating. Andaz is excellent for delivery. The food is packaged well and arrives hot.

I have searched all over Manhattan for the best Indian food — alas, Andaz is the best! The chef is wonderful and creative — the dishes are fresh and extraordinary — tonight I had lobster prepared Goa style — the meat was taken out of the shell and prepared in a coconut sauce slightly spicy and sweet — stuffed back into the shell. served with lemon rice. The best lobster dish I had in my entire life. Kudos to the chef. Amazing bel puri to start Can’t wait to return to try more!

I went there for lunch. The service was so slow! The vegetable korma was sweet. I asked for hot sauce and two spoonfull of it hid the sweet taste!!! Otherwise, the place is nice with smooth indian music playing and the mango lassi was all right. Too expansive.

Never been here only reviewing on their delivery. The chicken tikka most of the time is undercooked. Rude staff and they always forget the dressing for the chuchumber salad… it’s what makes the taste. ;)

One of my go-to Indian spots in the neighborhood(the other one being Papadam). The lunch buffet is a great deal and most importantly, has never gotten me sick thus far. The notable entrees here are the fish curry(when they have it), lamb curry, and saag paneer. The chicken tikka is not bad but could be spicier. The tandoori chicken also could be better if other chicken parts were used besides drum sticks. I don’t come here that often… Maybe once a month. But it is worth noting that the wait staff are always friendly and helpful, willing to talk about what food they are serving and ingredients. Always a pleasant experience here, thanks!

I ordered for the first time a couple days ago. I don’t understand the good reviews. My chicken Tilkka Masala was dry and the sauce was bland and too sweet. The rice was stale and my samosas were very oily. It was very disappointing. I have had much better food from Mumtaz and Rangoli. I will not be adventurous and stray from my usual places again!

I was skeptical to eat here because of other reviews, but tried it after other lunch plans fell through. It was fantastic. The lunch buffet is $ 13.01 after tax, and included tandoori chicken(very moist and flavorful!), chicken tikka masala, ghobi masala, a ground lamb dish, vegetable korma(FAVORITE), daal makhani, yellow daal, basmati rice, naan, salads, and dessert. My water glass was never empty. The bathrooms were clean. The servers were accommodating. It was lovely and not crowded. I almost don’t want to leave this review because I don’t want it to get crowded…

Their chicken tikka masala tastes like ketchup. I regret returning.

Very disappointed. Had the lunch special, and it was not good. The food was so bland. I understand not being able to serve super spicy food to the public, but they went too far in the opposite direction. They also managed to get my order wrong, which was very annoying. Too many good indian food places to go back to this one. On to the next…

I’ve been to Andaz about 4 times within the past 3 months, and I must say that I CANNOTAGREE with the bad reviews about it. I’ve never done the buffet to start, yet apparently, most people who wrote a bad review, seemed to have solely gone for buffet. Oh well… Nonetheless, at Andaz, I have always experienced excellent service, and I have only tasted nothing less than wonderful Indian food, the few times I have been there for dinner. For those who gave it a bad review, I strongly suggest you try old fashioned, regular dinner. Pay the extra premium and enjoy! It is not a bad price! This place is so worth it! Andaz is a Culinary Gem of India in the Upper East Side ;)

I ordered the lamb lunch box, it was extremely salty and the garlic naan barely had any garlic taste to it. I was very disappointed!!!

Went for Sunday. Manager asked me to seat myself in a corner table and asked if I’m in for the lunch special. I expected it to be a buffet, but was pre-fixe. Manager didn’t check with me if I wanted chicken or vegetarian, and then blamed me. They didn’t have the menu listing for this, so I couldn’t tell what I’ll be getting. When the food came out, they picked the chicken dishes and got no veggie alternatives. Charged me the same anyway for one daal and a crappy pumpkin dish. Food was also bad. Paid 15 dollars for nothing. Never going back again!

Won’t be going back for the Buffet that’s for sure. The food was as good as it has been the last 20 times I have been there for the Buffet — but the change from Self-Serve to Waiter service was terrible. The waiters were overwhelmed — the food came out way too slow — and we had to eat on a table overly cluttered just to get what we wanted all at same time. I’ve never been to an Indian Buffet without self-service — and we could not figure out for the life of us why they changed. Needful to say — it was totally disappointing. Especially when a block away you can have the good olé self-serve. On top of that — it’s not like we ordered extra right before we paid and left it untouched and asked for doggie-bag — we just wanted the bit we could not finish for a snack later. I am 39 and my Mom is a bit older– we had been there so many times and were clearly not trying to game the system — give me a break and throw the last bit in a container. Way too many other options than to ever return to Andaz. Was Mom’s fave — no longer.

I had enjoyed a very decent buffet lunch at Andaz several years ago. However, I didn’t remember the name of the restaurant. When I checked Unilocal to locate it, I read a review that this place no longer served the buffet lunch. So, I called the restaurant to verify. What Andaz offer is a full-service buffet, instead of self-service one most of us are accustomed to. And, the restaurant doesn’t charge more for this distinction. You sit down at your table. And, the waiter brings all the items in individual containers. First, I was served 3 appetizers. Then, I was offered 5 main courses along with rice and naan. There are 2 Indian desserts. If you aren’t for sweets, you are offered fresh fruit. All in all, you are offered 10 items to choose, just like other Indian buffets. The individual container turned out to be quite deceiving. It holds much more food than I had imagined. It is equivalent to 2 full scoops. You take whichever items you like. You can ask for more of your favorites. Then, the waiter brings another container with as much food as the first time. As a customer, you end up getting more food than what you’ve bargained for. I asked the owner why the restaurant altered to this format. The whole purpose of the buffet is to reduce the clean-up expenses of multiple dishes. Andaz was betraying this idea and was also being misunderstood by customers. He said those who came at late hours ended up getting overheated or dried out food. By offering the full-service buffet instead, he offered fresh food at the right temperature. He also could reduce the food waste. The food itself? It was just as good as I had it the first time several years ago. And, the price for the buffet lunch is the same for all 7 days, which is another bargain. Many other buffet restaurants charge more for the weekends.

The service was very good, the food was OK, the prices seemed quite excessive. $ 12 – 18 for mains with rice an additional $ 4? $ 6 for two gulab jamun? No tamarind sauce or papadan for the table? We did leave full and well hydrated, if rather light in the wallet.
