Good Italian food. The chicken Marsala was very good. Sangrias is the bomb. They do try to upsale the special and the seafood dishes are a little high priced compares to the rest of the menu.

By far the worst meal I’ve had in Little Italy! My mom, sister, and I came to this restaurant for dinner one night and seriously regretted our decision. First off, the food was just not that good. We ordered a mixed house salad to share. Instead of putting dressing on the salad, it only had small threads of thick balsamic glaze on it — yuck! I had the octopus pasta, which was passable but very salty. The octopus was also chewier than it should have been. My sister had plan spaghetti and marinara in which the pasta was undercooked(not al dente, just hard). And my mom had a shrimp pasta dish in which the shrimp were very stringy and overdone. The service was worse than the food. We had to ask for silverware. We ended up asking for dressing to put on the salad because the balsamic glaze didn’t cut it, we asked for water, and we had to flag down a waiter to order in the first place. Overall, we were disappointed with the food and the service not to mention that this meal was not at all cheap. I will be avoiding this place on my future trips to Little Italy. Tourist trap.

Wandered into this restaurant during the feast of San Gennaro and were pleasantly surprised. Very friendly staff for how busy it was. The Ravioli and Fettuchini were some of the best we have ever eaten, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this restaurant.

Found this little gem just walking around Little Italy! The service was extraordinary, and made us feel like family. The gf is gluten free and they handmade the noodles and went out of their way to satisfy her needs. Highly recommend if looking for a great little Italian restaurant!

It was our first night in town; we met up with a buddy of mine for a few drinks and some dinner. Since he had lived in the area he took us to one of his favorite places in town called Amici II. Amici which means friend in Italian sure was a friendly place to eat. They are located on Mulberry Street in the heart of the little Italy district serving homemade dishes. We ordered a glass of wine while we looked over the menu. They brought out some fresh bread with some roasted garlic dipping oil. We ordered Spiedini alla Romana(Fried Cheese and Bread with Anchovy Sauce) as an appetizer and let me tell you it was amazing. We almost went back the next day to get some more. My buddy ordered some sort of Gnocchi, my girlfriend ordered Lobster Ravioli and I ordered Chicken Parmigiana. The food was delicious, great flavors and an amazing taste. The restaurant had an indoor and outdoor seating area. The atmosphere was comfortable and made for a wonderful meal. If you are looking for great Italian dish, I recommend stopping in at Amici II.

We came on Easter. And we were very happy w our experience! The staff was very friendly, professional and discreet. The food was delicious. We ordered the chicken parm– the sauce was fresh and flavorful! And the chicken was also fresh, tasty and perfectly cooked. I liked the meatballs too! We ordered the zuppa di vongole to start — and it seemed rushed — the broth was lacking. Otherwise — I recommend Amici 2 —

Riquisima!

I would have given this place one more star but they were extremely rude. They were nice at first, until we asked for one more bread to go with our meal and instead of giving us the normal bread they gave us all the ends. How childish first of all and rude. Their noodles were not fully cooked either my sauce was alright, my moms sauce was bad. Also, the shrimp were overdone. We also had to ask for everything since the service was so terrible, water, silverware, dressing, things that should have been given to us in the first place. I will never be returning to this horrible place!

I went to Mulberry Street with the intent of eating pizza and baked type dishes. When we got to our original destination… Too full and I was hungry. A man in the front of the restaurant dressed Guido style convinced my fiancé and I to dine in… Table for 2 immediate seating, mentioned owner and wife run the restaurant and are full blown Italian… Great food… What the hell! OK he got me at immediate seating… Really we are in little Italy how bad could it be. They sit us at the window… OK seats the restaurant cramped, cold, heating no good for the front door always opening, many tables near the front complaining of the cold getting in… Anyways. Seems the owner of the restaurant coaches the waiters to attend the center of the restaurant only… Big tables. It was almost 15 mins to get water, and with all the 6 staff members completely occupied to that… It left me with an Mia owner to take my drink and food order… Bout 30 mins after the immediate seating to see him… We ordered_LG Cesar salad, and calamari. Chicken Parmesan and gnocchi. The appetizer salad was delicious! No complaints… The calamari never came out? W. e that’s fine… So I finished my water about 10 mins prior to the appetizer hitting my table to no refill… I’ll keep you posted on that. So the waiters came to the table and took the salad plates… And forks we used. I asked the waiter for more water and more bread… Got the bread… No water. That’s OK… It’s new year’s. So the food comes out before the water… LMAO! The Gnocchi was delicious Jesus was it good! surprised tinder the portion of the gnocchi considering the reviews … Can’t say the same about the chicken Parmesan… Well, the chicken was salty and lazy. Tasted like canned tomatoe sauce with hot sauce flavor… And salty! The pasta was right out the box tense and a very small portion! First bite nearly cracked my teeth… So I called the waiter over and asked them if they can cook the pasta a little more for me for it was under cooked… NOTALDENTE! To no surprise walked away to ask the owner for permission… So he came back for my plate… And I reminded him of my water lol. When the plate came back… Without WATER… Noticed the plate was missing my chicken… And brought back on a smaller plate not the dinner plate that I was served on??? WTF? By this point I just want to leave… Long story short, I felt like I was intruding IN Someone’s home where I was not invited. owner never came to our table after he took the orders to see if everything was OK… I mean we were going to spend so much more since we were on our last night of our engagement vacation… We were going to splurge until we got the snobby response after«water for now». So you can imagine if the thought that i mentioned that we were going to spend more money at this restaurant probably could have made my dining experience better pretty much sums up the type of restaurant this is… CONS: SEEMEDSTAFFDISCRIMATESAGAINSTSMALLTABLES… BEGFORSERVICE??? SMALLPORTIONS! HITORMISSTYPE… CRAMPEDBUTHEYITSNYC… NOOVEN? QUALITYNOTTOPARWITHPRICE. PROS: SEAFOODLOVERSPARADISE, CONCLUSION: So 1.5 hrs later no water! LMAO! I really hate places that don’t appreciate the UnilocalERS business. For a business to market on their front windows that they welcome Unilocal and trip advisory recommendations… Really didn’t feel welcoming. On the contrary… My fiancé and I felt like we were wasting the owners time when we told him«just water please». From that moment… The dining experience just crumbled. The staffs attitude immidiatly diminished and I found myself asking for too much… What a shame… And still NOWATER?

The 2-star rating of «Meh. I’ve experienced better» sums up my experience at Amici’s. The taste of the food was decent, but you get very small portions. And it’s not cheap. I was excited to get some Italian food in Little Italy, the guy outside got our attention and told us he had a table for 4. 15 minutes later we got seated. The restaurant is small but it’s kinda neat. I just felt like the food was average, not what I expected from Little Italy. I’ve have far better Italian food from a local authentic Italian restaurant down the street here in PA. Wouldn’t go back.

My second time there. Not really a fan of little Italy to eat, but we went because I thought it would be fun to walk down mulberry with my boyfriend who had never been to NYC at the time. The first time I went our server was super friendly, but I was with my girlfriends. This time not so much. He gave me an attitude and to be honest the food isn’t that great there anyway. It’s a touristy area, so in my opinion feel like the food lacks in those areas anyway.

Soooo… I definitely wanted to give this place 5 stars buuuuut, I’d have to agree with the previous reviewers; the portion is SMALL. Like I’m feeding an 8yo small. I had to order an extra serving of bread to fill the empty space in my stomach small. The people that run the place aren’t Italian either lol, but it’s a good effort though. The lobster ravioli is really good but they’re literally like 12 pieces of ravioli on the plate. The staff is super nice and super sweet, including the gentleman outside who lured us in, Andres. We really got lured in by the sign for the lobster ravioli and again, it was good. Bön appetit!

Penne Arabiata w Mussels was delicious but a bit too many mussels. First time having Penne w Eggplant and wasn’t disappointed-eggplant was cooked perfectly w the right seasoning. Caesar salad was plain looking but the best caesar I’ve had so far. The only reason I gave this place a 3 star despite the good food is because I found a wire from the Brillo pad but didn’t bother to make a complaint to the manager. Bus boy was made aware.

If you walk along bunch of Italian restaurants on Murberry street in Little Italy, it would be hard for you to resist every waiter’s touting. Amici’s one was nice enough to bring us into the restaurant. It was bit crowded which i would expect it is not that bad. The vibe inside of the restaurant was cozy and relaxing, and the service was nice. However, the reason i had to take out two stars was the taste. I’ve already heard about«dont expect perfect Italian food in Little Italy», which was mm(im sorry) somewhat true. I ordered linguine vongole and my friend ordered chicken parmigiana with tomato sauce spaghetti. Linguine was so dry that i had to put lots of olive oil by myself, and it was not perfectly seasoned. Clams were not bad tho. Oh, when they gave the breads before the meals, they gave olive oil with some garlics in it. For me, it was somewhat fishy so i asked them to bring just regular olive oil. Overall taste was not that bad. However, if considered with the price which was total of $ 51.00 with two dishes(they included tips before check out), mm i would rather go other places to get better vongole.

What NYer out of their right mind would eat in Little Italy? Not me… or so I thought. I was actually«persuaded»(after a few drinks at a bar) to dine at «a little hole in the wall» Amici by a fellow patron who frequented the place. I have to say I was definitely surprised. Maybe it was because I came with regulars? Maybe because it was also her birthday? Maybe it is always that good. Whatever the reason was, I actually had a great experience here. Although it definitely, by NY standards NOT a hole in the wall, the staff was very attentive and the food was very good. I had the veal parm, the calamari and the seafood and squid ink pasta. The fresh squid ink pasta was the best I had in a long time! I’ll give you another run soon, Amici.

I came here during the San Gennaro Feast. All the restaurants had some sort of deal during the feast including Amici II. I had the Mozzarella caprese to start off and it was somewhat disappointing to me. The mozzarella was not fresh at all. How can you be an Italian restaurant and not have fresh mozzarella. The Linguine with white wine and mussels was okay to me. The mussels seemed okay, maybe not the freshest mussels. The white wine sauce was decent maybe not enough sauce flavor. The Eggplant parmigiana with pasta was pretty good tasting. A nice small portion size. The eggplant parmigiana was the best dish of the meal. The pastas were fresh, but I felt okay about this place.
