Alex used to be the best tailor I’ve known delivering the best service! But lately his business went south. He is never there and his Chinese assistant from previous location is very rude, doesn’t speak any English what so ever. She has to learn some basic customer service tips before Alex loses all his clients. I will not be coming back!

Alex is amazing and so nice and so helpful. The office is so cute and homey! :) this place exceeded my expectations in every way.

Went to this spot today after purchasing a chiffon gown from David’s Bridal that needed the length hemmed. My dress was less than $ 200 and David’s hemming quote was $ 120! Alex and his team was very friendly and was willing to quote me a much lower price than David’s.
The store is at a high rise building 11^th floor where you have to sign in with the front desk security.
Very accommodating, will visit again.

Alex (Alteration Expert) is the best tailor you’ll find in NYC, and I’ve been to many. First off, Alex is an actual tailor. It’s all he does. He understands how clothes are supposed to fit and what can, and more importantly, what cannot be done. Hell, he’ll even make you a suit in less than a week if you ask him to (and I have). Sure you can take your clothes to the local dry cleaners and get a few alternations, but if you’re looking for a precise fit, don’t waste your time with anyone else. I’ve been going to Alex for the past 2 years and have given him over 10 suits to fit for me. I’m 5’7 with a stocky frame, so all my clothes have to be either bespoke or heavily tailored for the «GQ» fit I’m looking for. My suits are bang on every time! And I get just about every alteration there is (pants tapered, shortened, waist taken in, suit sleeves shortened from the shoulder and tapered, suit length shortened, body tapered, collar roll adusted). This is no easy task and almost no tailor in NYC will even attempt this job. Most don’t have the skill or confidence to get it right. Not with Alex! And these are $ 3k suits!
He has a brand new office on Broadway which is a little bigger (and much nicer) than the old location. As far as tailors go, you’re not going to get much better. Even the tailors that are in the actual store (BG, Barney’s, Saks) don’t come close.

Alex is amazing. A button on my coat broke on a cold winter day and he was able to fix it immediately. He’s really easy to find on the corner of 25^th and Broadway, walked right in and was greeted, no waiting.
The repair is perfect, just like new; I can’t even tell the difference from the original buttons! Very reasonably priced, has earned the rest of my tailoring business.

Excellent work！ I’ve been done few closes here during 2 years and the price is acceptable, the boos and staff are all very kind high tech. Definitely be my tailor space in NYC!

Alex is great; he gets the job done really well and he’s a pleasure to work with. I had a couple of difficult fabrics to work with and he made the alterations look perfect. Really impressed!

Alex was a real pleasant surprise after having not the best tailoring experiences in the past. I needed a rather extensive job done on my tuxedo SAME DAY for a black tie New Year’s Eve event. He did that and my dress shirt between 11am and 6pm which was truly amazing and the fit was perfect and very flattering. I can’t say he’s cheaper than other places, but definitely worth the cost. You get what you pay for (normally!). Would highly recommend.

I have been going to Alteration Expert for almost a year and they are still the BEST. I’ve have multiple shirts and pants tailored here and they always came out perfect!
They are extremely nice, patient with clients, care about their results, and give great prices! If you need anything this is the place to go!

After writing my earlier review, Alex contacted me and said his policy is to give a full refund if a customer is not satisfied. He did just that and gave me a cash refund for the one jacket I was not happy with. He even had a courier bring the money over to my office since I didn’t have time to drop by. This level of service is above and beyond anything I expected!
I’m still undecided about the quality of their work given I had one item done well and one not. But based on all the happy customers here and Alex’s reaction to my review, I’m confident my experience was a fluke. I would definitely return if I was in the area.

This place is amazing good. Book an appointment with the VIP service next day there driver pick me up on time with a nice black limousine. I have lot of things to fix was so convenient for me. The work was very impressive. Like what i was expecting. From a good tailor. Definitely I“ll go back to Alteration Expert.

This place does an excellent job!
The female specialist who works there is very gratuitous. She has fixed my bagpack for FREE! (which my dog chewed off the adjustable strip at that you see at the bottom of the band)
I had 4 jeans tailored here and specifically asked them to narrow the fit where it hits the ankles so that it would fit perfectly like skinny jeans. They did a superb job on this. The jeans that were loose where it hit the ankles now fit perfectly! Top notch specialists. Highly recommended.

I found Alterations Expert at the last minute for tailoring on silk pants I was wearing to my best friends wedding. Alex was quick and gave me good recommendations regarding the best way to go about tailoring the pants. They were able to turn it around next day. So, let’s just say I’m a happy person. Would definitely recommend!

this is the absolute best and friendliest spot in the city. his magic hands can fix anything. I went in to repair a snap back and it was done in minutes. he was also super professional about his work and put my concerns first.

Not only were they very welcoming and polite, but they were also very FAST and METICULOUS! Alexis had to work around a zipper to bring in the waist area of my skirt. I tried it on before leaving and it fit PERFECTLY! I am so thankful and happy that I found this place :) To all those out there looking for an alteration spot that is AFFORDABLE and is able to deliver results, you MUST come here!

This is the absolute best alteration spot in the city. Not only experts in the most challenging wardrobe fixes but they bend over backwards to help accommodate a procrastinator like me :-)
I’ll be coming back to Alex for sure, he’s the only guy I’ll be using from now on!

Bought a suit from JC Pennys. It was a cheap suit and had a very baggy fit, especially the pants.
Brought to Alex and Co. for adjustments here and there. Told them exactly the look I was going for and got what I wanted.
My suit fit me like a glove.
Can’t beat the service and price.

I ordered a new dress for a formal event that arrived the day before I was to head to NYC for work. While I was in love with the dress, it fit a little strange with some extra fabric that bunched up in the middle. The dress was sequined and fitted, so I wasn’t really sure if any of this would be a challenge, but decided to pack it up with me as I headed up to NYC to see if I could find some time to drop it off at an experiences tailor.
Luckily, I noticed on Unilocal that Alteration Expert was just a few blocks a way from the office so I made my way over there one afternoon after we wrapped up meetings. It was a little tricky to find initially since I didn’t realize 304 Park Avenue was a massive building that takes up the majority of the block, so you have to make sure you hit the center of it for entry.
Once you get there, you’ll need to have your ID ready to show security since the business is actually located in a private suite within the office building. Once checked in, I proceeded to the 11^th floor, gave Alexis a call and was buzzed in.
While the space is super tiny, they get things done here! Don’t be shy to try on your clothes behind the the makeshift curtain, it’s all part of the charm. What’s best is that Alexis seems to have a good spirit and desire to help satisfy your needs with the best turnaround possible for you.
After being fitted, I was delighted to find out that I would be able to pick the dress up the next day and was also pleased that it was only going to run me $ 50. (Make sure to check-​in on Unilocal to claim the offer and receive a discount!)
The dress ended up fitting perfectly and I couldn’t have been happier with their work.

I found Alexis here on Unilocal,as he was the highest rated tailor in the area. I’m happy to report he lived up to the 5-​star reviews. He was personable, very professional and best of all, produced fabulous results for my clothing.
I had him shorten 3 pairs of pants (both jeans and slacks) and both shorten and slim another pair of pants for a suit. All were done with detailed precision. I’m very happy with the results.
Prices are on par with the 5 star service and competitive with others in the area.
The location is a little difficult to find — it’s on the south side of 23^rd, even though the address says Park Ave South. Just go into the lobby and take the elevator up to the 10^th floor, then all the way down the hallway to suite 1018.
